I walked in after work to pick up a pie. First time ever trying there pizza. I went by the reviews. It was a little busy. I ordered a 14" with sausage and mushrooms. $22 bucks I thought it was pricey for a smaller pie. Well let me tell you, my daughter and I have checked out every pizza in the area and our favorite is all stars in the flee market (sooooo good) but this pie was so delicious. I do believe it is my new favorite. There was plenty of sausage and fresh large pieces of mushrooms and lots of creamy cheese. The crust was so light and crispy on the edge of the pie. You could actually taste everything that was put on that pie. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because a 14" 2 item pie shouldn't cost $22. read more

I've been to this fabulous restaurant a few times and am pleased every time! I stopped in recently with my parents for a quick dinner. We decided to have a white pizza with meatball. While we waited, our waiter offered us complimentary mussels. I'm not a mussel fan, but my dad loved them. The garlic rolls here are amazing and it's very easy to fill up on them while you wait for your dinner. I've never had the white pizza here before, I have to say that it's the best white pizza I've ever had! The service has always been above average and the staff is very friendly. read more

Today I visited this restaurant and I had the unfortunate luck of being served by waiter Carlos B. He was very unattended first once we walked in he immediately assumed we were there for pick up order. Then someone else seat us down and I waited for Carlos for 18 minutes. I felt like he felt bothered to wait on us. It's a shame that he could be so ignorant and judge people without reason. So disappointed. Since I came last time with a large group I was excited about returning with my family for them to try their food. 1) It was hot. ACs weren't working right. This isn't there fault I know, I do think they were trying. Patrons were fanning themselves. 2) If you see my last review I raved about the veal pizzialoa. As my wife doesn't eat veal, we did the chicken version this time. It was horrible. I recalled last time how big the dish was, so we opted to share. Per waiter reco, we let the kitchen split....$6 sharing.....but included another soup or salad. Fine. The crazy small chicken breast came out on a long white rectangular plate. It was like they butterflied the breast and included only 1/2 of the breast on each of our plate..or one breast total. For $20 we were shocked, even if we put the two of ours together. The sauce as my wife kept saying was 'like ketchup'. So tiny chicken, ketchup sauce, and my wife has 6 olives on plate, I had 2. Just weird. We didn't want pasta (damn carbs) so we asked what else....mixed veggies free, $2 spinach. Fine...the spinach was covered in a ridiculous amount of oil. Our friends did the same thing, except they ordered grilled chicken parm. Same tiny presentation. My buddy went and talked to the manager, and they did bring him more chicken admitting it should not have been like that. I was tired, hungry, and the kids stressing so I didn't say anything but I should have. Really disappointed after such a good meal last time. Came in here to get some wings as the wings store next door was closed for some unknown reason. I specifically told the girl behind the counter that i liked my wings extremely hot, and she and the other lady behind the counter said "our sauce is really hot, don't worry, and we'll put extra on there." When i got home and tried them i didn't see the wings doused in any kind of sauce, just grease. There was zero spice to them, and i mean pepper is more spicy than these wings. Waste of my money, and time. Note to employees of this establishment. When a customer says he likes his wings "very spicy" don't tell him your wings are spicy when they're no more spicy than mustard. If i would have known there was ZERO spice to the wings i wouldn't have ordered them, period! My family loves the food and the family friendly atmosphere. My mother has dementia, when I took her for lunch they could not have been more wonderful. Recently she turned 80, we ordered delivery, right on time, perfect and they chopped up her food like I requested due to swallow issues. This made her Birthday. Worst customer service ever. I went in for takeout and stood there at the hostess stand waiting to be acknowledged. Several employees walked by without saying a word, one lady was on a call taking an order turned without acknowledging me and looked away, but went out of her way to ignore me. I thought she was calling to apologize for making me wait without any acknowledgment but instead called to confront me and to scream at me. Imagine? She said she was the owner. I've had two entree's from this place and they both knocked my socks off as in ( The best I can remember). Their fettuccine Alfredo and their Sausage & Broccoli Rabe ( I get it over angel hair) The best. Two sides that are worth mentioning. Their Spinach or Broccoli sauteed with garlic and oil. I don't know how they do it but they end up with a delightful broth that's not too oily or too garlicy but too good for words. Stopped in for the first time for a couple of slices and a cold Becks beer and I must say the Pizza is some of the best I have had. Thinner style pizza with a nice firm crunch. The entire restaurant from what I could see was very clean with 3 separate dining rooms. The staff was very friendly and overall a great place. We are from the Chicago area and have a lot of friends and relatives coming to stay with us and this is the restaurant that we always bring our guests. Everyone loves it even Uncle Bob, who is fussy and opinionated and not easy to please. I've been coming to this place since it opened I can't even remember what year. It use to be the place to go for good Italian when my partner and I called it LIP (Little Italian Place). We could never remember the name as many times as we visited. I just moved back from CA and I see it has changed owners. My experience so far: this was my go to place for Penne a la Vodka with chicken. I went for lunch the other day and found that it did not have much flavor...a real disappointment. I was there again yesterday and had the Stromboli which was good...no complaints there. It's a shame that what once was my favorite dish is no longer a reason to go there. I would usually give them 4 or 5 stars, but not today. 1- Out of 6 people, 3 had chicken marsala (which I've had before). Instead of the tasty, rich marsala sauce, it was watered down and tasteless (all 3 of us thought that). My guess... they didn't properly drain the pasta and the extra water diluted the sauce. 2 - When we placed our orders, we ordered one meal to go. At the end of the meal, it became quite obvious that they forgot the meal to go and started delaying us while they were making it. Even when she finally brought the bills, the meal wasn't ready. It would have been better if they were honest with us . 3 - Our waitress, Beatrice, wasn't that attentive. She never came by during the meal and there was a long delay in getting someone to bring boxes and then bring the checks. And she must be the one responsible for our to-go meal not being ready. 4 - When we got home and saw the to-go Chicken Francese, there was very little sauce. read more

If you asked me a year ago I would have given them five stars but after fifteen years of being a loyal customer my family has stoped ordering food from La Pizzeria. The food would be great one week and terrible the next week. The service and delivery times stretched from 30-45 minutes, to one hour, to an hour and a half, and then almost two hours. On the last order we placed I waited two hours before finally calling and canceling the order. When I canceled it the person on the phone told me I could not cancel the order and that they would charge me for the food either way! They didn't, but the fact that they would make that threat after waiting two hours was outrageous. It was the last time I spent money with them. read more
