Great food and service. Best Cuban food since I left Miami. Gustan was our favorite server so far. We will definitely be back

Charges for taxes that don't exist on food in FL. An upcharge for requesting no onions. A charge for a Togo box. Won't be back

So, I've worked in the food industry here in FL for almost 22 years. I have never seen a service fee on eating in a restaurant. Nor have I ever seen a charge for a Togo container. All were deducted from the tip I left. It was a terrible lunch. My daughter's soup had rice instead of noodles. Not sure if they just ran out that day or forgot to add it to the soup. Oh...and I just realized they charged me a $1 for no onions on my pork! Laughable. It wasn't good food. The croquetta were burnt. The pork was dry. The plantain wasn't ripe before they cooked it, resulting in a strange, hard burnt banana. Not good. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. I won't be back.

I stumbled on this place while working in St. Petersburg. The owner was very friendly and the restaurant has been in business over 20 years. I came back later for a late lunch, and our waiter, Jesse, was helpful when I asked for recommendations. Pollo Ala Russa was my choice with Yuca and Caldo soup. The chicken was breaded and juicy, with small peas in a light very flavorful sauce. I really enjoyed the collard green soup with beans. It was something new for me to try and it made me happy. The Yuca had a Mojo sauce on it, which added extra flavor. They even served some warm Cuban bread before the meal. I will definitely find my way back to this great little restaurant. Maybe sit on the patio, try something else new. Price , service, and food are all a win. It's worth the drive.

The extra star is for the service. We felt the food could have been better. The tostones looked and tasted like they were out of the freezer. The sopa de pollo was okay but not outstanding. The tamale had barely any meat and could have used a little Adobo for flavor. The croquets were unremarkable. Our favorite of the meal was the yuca fritas with mojo sauce. This part of the meal was the most authentic, homemade portion for us. But unless you are only ordering yuca, I don't know that we could recommend the food.

This place isn't real convenient for me, but I wanted to try it for a long time. I was at the Dr not far from there, and couldn't just drive by. Had to stop for lunch to go. The pork I will say was fantastic, moist and just bursting with flavor! The beans were just ok, a lot of liquid and kind of lacking flavor. I asked for collards and got plantains instead, I like plantains but wasn't in the mood that day. So I didn't want to drive all the way back. The service was acceptable for take out, but not terribly enthusiastic. The place was well decorated and seems like a decent place to dine in, I will likely give it a second chance. Overall I can't leave a bad review, I'll be back.

Croquetas de Queso appetizer, lightly breaded, fried and a soft hot & cheesy inside

As it's been way too long since our last visit, we stopped in for a nice lunch. As we love their Croquetas De Queso we simply couldn't start without them - They were Fantastic! We kept it simple with an order of Black Bean Soup and a order of Yellow Rice each. We should've split an order of rice as we were stuffed at the end. Their Black Bean Soup and Yellow Rice is about as good as it gets ! Awesome delicious comfort food and add a little Goya Cayenne Pepper Hot Sauce and WOW! We finished with a shot of Espresso each that simply was the "Icing on the Cake"! The service was quite attentive and friendly, the modest cost was much welcomed and left us saying "We don't come here often enough!" We highly recommend La Teresita!

Passing by stopped on a whim. Nice open spaces but tight booths for us stomach enhanced people. Nice menu selection and lots of specials. Con Queso appetizer was good but no type of dipping sauce? Spanish cheese steak and the seafood rice lunch size (which was huge) was done very well and enough left for dinner. Hot fresh Cuban bread to rowing it out.

Very good Cuban food at a reasonable price. The portions are quite large and the service is great.

When I asked about their gluten-free precautions, our server reassured me that the chefs take it very seriously and are very careful when preparing gluten-free meals. We ordered the shrimp ceviche and seared ahi tuna for appetizers, and both were delicious! For our meals, I had Doc's paella, my daughter had the mahi-mahi with jasmine rice and vegetables, my son had the panko shrimp with fries, and my husband had the macadamia nut-crusted grouper with vegetables and rice. Everything came out fairly quickly and tasted good. Everyone in our party liked their food except my daughter she said her fish had zero seasoning or flavor, the service was great, and I really appreciated the care they took with gluten-free precautions.

After looking at reviews on Yelp, we decided to check out Alma Llanera in St Pete. We made the drive and were welcomed when we walked in. They have a great overall selection on their menu, a variety of authentic Venezuelan dishes you can dig in to. Really, we were craving empanadas - but we are eager to try more dishes next time. We ordered three carne mechada empanadas (shredded beef hand pies), one cheese empanada, and two mora natural juices. Each orderaccompanied with a side of their house sauces that compliment the natural on-going flavors of the empanda - a creamy, white garlic sauce (salsa de ajo) and a cilantro based sauce (salsa de cilantro).
