Ben's favorite cuban sandwich place! He is in Heaven
    Mari H.

Ben has been talking about this place since we started dating but never took me there or picked it up. Finally, I mentioned it and he was all over it! You can definitely tell that this is a local spot that has been here for years based on the decor and process to get the food. The sandwich itself is huge so I was happy Ben ordered just one for us to share because I only ate half of my half and Ben gladly ate what I couldn't. I, personally do not like pickles on my sandwiches but I just removed them. No big deal and the sandwich was great. The bread was crunchy as it should be and since it is made to order, it was nice and fresh.

Came here today for a quick lunch. Walked in and placed an order for take out. It was fast. Placed the order and was out the door in about ten minutes. We ordered the mojo pork, white rice, black beans, and a side of ropa vieja. Prices are REALLY nice. Two meals with the extra side of meat for like $18. No complaints, the food was good. I'm giving three stars because it wasn't the best or the worst, just average. The food portions here aren't as big as most other Spanish restaurants (but you still get a good amount). I would eat here again

I really want to give 5 stars...... My husband and I have eaten here numerous times. The Cubans are among the very best in Pinellas. The beans, rice, and mojo pork is always fantastic as well. Our food has never been over or under flavored. The prices are very good! The staff and management always polite. So, why can't I give this place 5 stars? While I like the 'feel' of the place it is badly in need of a remodel or make over. The fountain doesn't work anymore and the faux plants around it are somewhat dusty. I love the table tops with the cute bumper stickers and pictures but one needs to be replaced and the others would benefit from being resealed to protect them. Honestly I think if they could do a bit of remodeling/ upkeep this place would rocket up to #1 in the Tampa Bay Area for Cubans!

This is by far the worst Cuban food I've ever tried in my life. Mind you I'm Cuban born and lived in Miami for a long time. Still I have never tried something so flavorless and reheated. Do not waste your time or money. Also they charged me for something I didn't even order. The quality of the food is concerning. I had to stop half way couldn't swallow a bit more. It tasted a week old.

Large Cuban w rice and beans $7.33

No 2011 reviews? OK, I'll write one. The quest for the best Cuban sandwich continues. This spot was recommended to me by a friend after a discussion about how my work lunch group just can't seem to find a good one in the Largo area. So the four of us went. The four of us got large cubans. The four of us added rice and beans for $7.33. I took a picture..check out my photography skillz. Ordering: You order at the register and then they'll bring it to your table. The good: -The Cuban was made correctly: ham, roasted pork, mustard, swiss cheese, pickles between hard pressed cuban bread. -The Cuban tasted really good, albeit slightly...SLIGHTLY cool when you bit into the center of the sandwich. -The Cuban was...a Cuban, made by a hispanic staff (thank god) -The rice and beans were tasty and the unmarked hot sauce was legit! -Price for the large Cuban w/ rice and beans was phenomenal for the quantity of food. I didn't eat dinner that night, still full. In retrospect, I should have got half to-go. The bad: We only had one real complaint: too much ham and not enough pork. Also, this spot wasn't too crowded...not sure what that means, but I'll be back to try some more menu items for sure. The search continues..message me if you have a gem in the Largo area we should try next for cuban sandwiches.

    Is this really it?

You can watch boats cruise by while you eat. The best spots are on the open outdoor deck or at a table next to the large windows. Inside, the dining room is decorated in a Mediterranean style. It features colorful Spanish tiles, lush tropical plants, and authentic artwork. The famous historic 1905 salad originally created in 1905 was made table side by Tossing 4 cups of chopped iceberg lettuce, 1/2 cup julienned ham, 1/2 cup julienned Swiss cheese, 1 ripe chopped tomato, and 1/2 cup green Spanish olives. Top with Romano cheese, Worcestershire sauce, fresh lemon juice, and a tangy garlic dressing. The flavor is great and it's a nice light healthy option. 9/10 The Ropa Vieja was Originally introduced to Cuba by Spanish sailors. The name means "old clothes" because the choice beef is shredded, sautéed and simmered with onions, green peppers and tomatoes. Served with platanos and white rice. 9/10 The Shrimp Salteado came with Jumbo shrimp sautéed in exra-virgin olive oil, sliced Spanish onions, green peppers, fresh garlic, mushrooms, diced potatoes, chorizo and red wine. Served with yellow rice. 9/10 For dessert, the flan is one of the best I have ever tasted. The recipe dates to 1935 when the Columbia opened Tampa's first "Conditioned Air" dining room, the Don Quixote. Our grandmother and great-grand-mother, Carmen Hernandez, helped the Columbia gain national fame with her great recipes, especially her flan. Spanish caramel egg custard, prepared the old-fashioned way, using only the best natural ingredients. 9/10 Our server was friendly and informative and our food came out in a timely manner. If you're in the Sand Key or Clearwater area and craving some authentic Cuban food in a classy atmosphere with a nice view of the water, i highly l recommend visiting the Columbia Restaurant.

Suggest valet for $6 or a couple of trips around the lot to find a spot. We sat outside, which was enclosed and heated and your are right on the water. Super cool and great views. We started off with the toasted bread and butter and the devil crab croquet. Not a fan - full of crab but the flavors didn't sit well and really needed some type of sauce to pair with it - we only had hot sauce. The original salad - is a must we shared it across four. It's made table side has cheese and olives in it and was really good. We got ours with a side of shrimp. Main courses - Cuban - it's a classic sandwhich which we shared. Comes with fried plantains which were ok. Again would have been better with some kind of sauce to dip it in. Steak Salteado - good flavor l, was expecting thin sliced steak and it was more like stew meat. Paired with rice and was good. Palomilla - would be better as the sandwhich version. Again this one needed a sauce for dipping. Shrimp "Al Ajillo" - this is a must and the oil garlic mix is perfect for dipping you toasted bread.
