    Enchiladas Dinner

I ordered take out from La Presa finally after having passed by it so many times. The food was absolutely delicious! I was very impressed. The restaurant when I went to pick up my food was clean, all unoccupied tables were clean. When I arrived the hostess verified my name before handing me my food. Food was still hot when I got home. Grabbed a menu before I left the restaurant and saw they have some daily specials and drink specials I want to try another day. Will definitely be coming back here! So happy I got to finally try La Presa.

My cousin and I went here for lunch recently, and we weren't happy with the service or food. The waiter just made us wait about 15 minutes for our table when the restaurant was empty! Once we finally got seated, she didn't bring out the menus or water for another 5-10 minutes. They gave you complimentary chips and salsa with three different salsas, and we didn't like them. The chips weren't fresh and were stale. We finally placed the order, and we both got vegetarian enchiladas, and they weren't good at all. We got salsa Verde enchiladas, and the sauce was too tangy and salty, the tortilla was soggy, and the veggies inside weren't cooked properly and tasted raw. The restaurant was extremely dark and was playing really loud music. I'm not sure if I'll be coming back because the service or food wasn't good.

Very nice place to enjoy mexican food . Burrito is very good, seafood also good . We ordered this time deep fried red snapper. Was Ok , little overcook and very overpriced. Nice and friendly service.

If it was just a review for my soup. This would be a 10 star review but I need to knock a point off for the fish ceviche, it was lacking that day. Came in over the weekend as hubby and I were in the area. We ordered a fish ceviche as it's something we gave been craving but are too lazy to make ourselves. Unfortunately it was lacking salt and limes. We seasoned it ourselves but it was a but disappointing. Now onto the meals hubby got the steak tacos which were good. I got the La Presa Soup. 100% Yumminess right there. Full of seafood. I had a huge chunk of fish, a cluster if crab and at least 10 langostinos/shrimp. I need to go back just to have it again soon! Of and it's huuuuge. Easily 3 people worth of soup

Are here on a Monday evening. First walked in to one table of 4 and another table with one person. Took a minute to find wait first the waitress to seat where ever we wanted. The chips and salsa came out immediately and tasted fresh and warm. The mild salsa tasted like straight tomato. But the medium salsa was good and not too spicy. The steak fajita was VERY bland so it didn't taste very good. Rice was okay. I won't be coming back because I don't think the food taste good at all.

Nice that they give an ice cream dessert. Enchiladas: good portion, my son tried mole that was spread on top for the first time, he didn't like it, but it doesn't mean it wasn't good, just something new he didn't enjoy. Cactus taco: they made it right. Nice texture with the crispy beets on top. Fish taco: this was ok, it fell apart bc there were so many tomatoes on top the juice softened the corn tortilla. Salad: good but they didn't have many dressing options and the one that came with it didn't have much flavor to add. Overall, cute spot, price is a bit higher here. They have many seafood entrees, seems to be what many guests ordered so maybe thats popular here. Service was good. No issues and things came out timely.

So, I stopped in during the week, just after lunch time and found this little hole-in-the wall of a restaurant conveniently nestled in a shopping center next to the local Walmart. Even though I walked in and the restaurant was completely empty, the pure vibrancy of the decor and the cheerfulness of the staff encouraged me to stay. Not to mention that the aroma making its way out from the kitchen was absolutely mouth-watering. I took a seat at the bar while I perused the menu and was delighted in the simplicity of it. You know the food is about to be fire when the menu is simple and a restaurant focuses on what it does well. In addition to the excellent service, the food was absolutely phenomenal. I started off with some chips and salsa.... which was delightfully flavorful and perfectly crisp. Then, I had a bowl of the tortilla soup. Each spoonful was like deja vu. Each bite made me feel like I was in my grandmother's kitchen as a little girl all over again. The broth was perfectly seasoned and each bite came with a chunk of chicken and an assortment of veggies... truly perfecto! Once I was done with the appetizers, I made my decision to try two tacos from the menu. The first was a salmon taco--and it didn't TASTE FISHY. It was grilled to perfection and then paired with an unexpected yet delicious topping of crispy potato strings and chipotle aioli. I ate every bite of this. It was the perfect combination of crunch and flavor, I just couldn't get enough. Then I also ordered the carne asada a cabron taco. Simple, yet dynamically flavorful. I was so full at this point but took this one home to eat at a later time. Still as amazing as the day I ordered it i'm sure. While I neglected to have any desserts or margaritas here, I was assured that they are just as remarkable as anything else. I had a wonderful meal, excellent service and I greatly look forward to going back if i'm ever in the area again for work. 10/10 Highly recommend!!

I have lived in Mount Prospect for over 25 years, but still didn't know where to cop delicious tamales so I turned to my fellow Yelpies for help. The number one recommended place wasn't open on Mondays so I headed to the Tamaleria Y Antojitos Chepis. Even with the technology of Google Maps, it was a little difficult to find in the strip mall, but I appreciate it's location relative to my house/the gym (which is where I was prior to this sidequest!). As soon as I stepped into the small establishment, which had postage signage that eating in the shop was unavailable at this time, I was warmly greeted. I had a slight panic because I didn't see tamales on the digital menu, but I shared with the gentleman behind the counter what I was looking for and he immediately checked the stock and told me he had only pork left, but in 4 different sauces. I ended up getting 6 in green sauce and 6 in red sauce. The flavors were really good! I like spicy so they were very enjoyable for me. The ratio of masa to filling was good. They retained their shape better as the days went on of me eating leftovers versus when I ate two boiling lava hot out of the bag. The tamales were wrapped in banana leaves instead of the cornhusks which tickled my half Asian brain. I enjoyed each tamale I purchased!

The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated but could use some updates but definitely feels cozy. The weather is in the 90's and the restaurant is nice and cool! There are several TV's mounted on the wall throughout the restaurant. Two are showing menu items, one is showing a soccer game, one is showing golf. and the last one is just some random tv program. The sound is off and they are playing Spanish music. There are lots of great menu items. I had a hard time picking out something to eat. I have never had a torta and decided to order the Chile Relleno Torta. It was spectacular! The bread was crispy and warm on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. It was seasoned perfectly and I could taste all the individual ingredients. I would definitely order again and recommend you try it as well. Definitely better then I expected. My husband ordered the Carne Asda burrito Suizo which he orders everywhere. Wow it is huge and the meat was tender and definitely one of the top 5 that he has ever eaten! Our waitress was very kind and attentive, she even refilled our chips. We left the restaurant full and happy! We will definitely be back!!

They have a nice sized outdoor seating area. The inside also looked cute. We were excited to see that they had a singer. At first he sang mostly Spanish songs but then switched to various songs and genres. He was very good. I'm not sure if he's a regular performer there or not though as this was our first time. We were seated and looked over the menu. We ordered chips and salsa (great chips and salsa btw). Then we ordered Dahlia margaritas. Chips and salsa came out quickly. Then we waited and waited and waited for our drinks. I saw a guy walking around with 2 not very appealing looking margaritas. He unsuccessfully attempted to deliver them to multiple tables, then finally came to our table and said "2 traditional margaritas" and we said no, we ordered Dahlia margaritas and he goes "Oh ya these are Dahlia margaritas." I looked at the margaritas and they had no salt and just looked meh. We kind of hesitated and he was like with no salt? And we were said no, we said salt. So we sent them back. Guys, I NEVER send things back...ever. Then we waited some more and finally the correct drinks were brought to us. We ordered our food, shrimp tacos and steak tacos. Then we were just chatting and we realized it had been awhile since we ordered. It was busy so we kind of just shrugged it off. Then our server came over and apologized that it was taking so long and said it should be out soon. We waited and waited and waited. We noticed that no one else around us seemed to be having delayed service. Then some girl who looked about 18 came over and apologized for the wait and asked if she could get us anything.... I wanted to say our food, but I did not. No joke, we waited 45 minutes for our tacos. All that was offered was a "sorry for the delay". When our food came we had to ask for silverware and then also ordered another round of margaritas (also side note the Dahlia Margarita is just meh and not worth the higher price). Our margaritas took 15 minutes. We were almost done with our dinner by the time they arrived. The shrimp tacos were really good minus the crazy amount of oil that dripped out while eating them. I held them sideways to try to drain as much out as I could. My husband enjoyed his steak tacos. Over $100 for 4 margaritas and 2 taco meals. Which is the standard nowadays. I will say the only reason we will not be returning is because of the service and the fact that they didn't seem to care that the service was so poor. Otherwise this would be a new favorite place of ours.
