They have a nice sized outdoor seating area. The inside also looked cute. We were excited to see that they had a singer. At first he sang mostly Spanish songs but then switched to various songs and genres. He was very good. I'm not sure if he's a regular performer there or not though as this was our first time. We were seated and looked over the menu. We ordered chips and salsa (great chips and salsa btw). Then we ordered Dahlia margaritas. Chips and salsa came out quickly. Then we waited and waited and waited for our drinks. I saw a guy walking around with 2 not very appealing looking margaritas. He unsuccessfully attempted to deliver them to multiple tables, then finally came to our table and said "2 traditional margaritas" and we said no, we ordered Dahlia margaritas and he goes "Oh ya these are Dahlia margaritas." I looked at the margaritas and they had no salt and just looked meh. We kind of hesitated and he was like with no salt? And we were said no, we said salt. So we sent them back. Guys, I NEVER send things back...ever. Then we waited some more and finally the correct drinks were brought to us. We ordered our food, shrimp tacos and steak tacos. Then we were just chatting and we realized it had been awhile since we ordered. It was busy so we kind of just shrugged it off. Then our server came over and apologized that it was taking so long and said it should be out soon. We waited and waited and waited. We noticed that no one else around us seemed to be having delayed service. Then some girl who looked about 18 came over and apologized for the wait and asked if she could get us anything.... I wanted to say our food, but I did not. No joke, we waited 45 minutes for our tacos. All that was offered was a "sorry for the delay". When our food came we had to ask for silverware and then also ordered another round of margaritas (also side note the Dahlia Margarita is just meh and not worth the higher price). Our margaritas took 15 minutes. We were almost done with our dinner by the time they arrived. The shrimp tacos were really good minus the crazy amount of oil that dripped out while eating them. I held them sideways to try to drain as much out as I could. My husband enjoyed his steak tacos. Over $100 for 4 margaritas and 2 taco meals. Which is the standard nowadays. I will say the only reason we will not be returning is because of the service and the fact that they didn't seem to care that the service was so poor. I ordered the flautas. They were exactly what you want flautas to be: present, edible, and not causing any problems. The vegetarian tacos with avocado, however, were the sleeper hit of the evening and probably deserved more attention than they got. But let's talk about Abby. Abby was funny, fast, attentive, and somehow managed to appear at our table exactly when we needed something. More importantly, she made margaritas that tasted like they had been blessed by a tequila wizard. I'm convinced she put extra love in mine. Luckily we made reservations ahead of time just in case this place definitely got packed even though we came for a 5 PM dinner. luckily, we also were able to each find street parking which happens to be free. Service here was absolutely incredible and I forgot his name, but our server was super kind and friendly. The food came out very quickly and quite fresh. The tacos were good, but nothing out of this world frankly and quite overpriced. The mango ceviche that came out was good but again nothing that really stood out. My friend Said she absolutely loved her salmon but she didn't touch any of the vegetables because everything was smothered and butter. The biggest disappointment frankly was when we ordered dessert and had the churros. Whoever fry them up literally fried them up to a crisp. There was nothing chewy about them. They were absolutely rock solid hard and when I pointed it out to our waiter, he said that was not normal nor should it have been cooked or fried that much. So they were kind enough to remove that from the Bill because frankly, we didn't eat any of it. I think it's worth checking out. Who knew Dahlia was our plan D for the night? We weren't able to get a table without a solid 30+ min wait at restaurants A, B, and C, and upon Yelp searching it up, we stumbled upon Lady Dahlia, and they luckily had a table for 4 available. And it turned out to be one plan D alright, plan Delicious! Lively, fun atmosphere that's good for happy hour but also still appropriate for a family meal out. Appetizers we enjoyed were croquettes, coconut shrimp, and meat empanadas. All were crispy, flavorful, and appetizing. On another visit, the maple glazed pork belly was a favorite, with the fatty meat and bed of sweet potatoes and walnut. Flautas and chicken nachos were also crowd pleasers, but less unique. The taco salad is a good light option, and if you feel like something heavier and heartier, the burrito or enchiladas will hit the spot, though I thought my burrito could use more cheese or a little more texture. Tequila may not be the answer, but it's worth a shot. I recommend the classic margarita, which is $12 and a bit modest sized but very tasty. Can't wait to try some other cocktails on my next visit. The flight included a grapefruit mimosa, a blood orange and jalepaño, they all were tasty but the blood orange was my favorite. The service was excellent, and Abby especially was awesome, friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. We ordered a couple of drinks, and both were delicious. The steak tacos were good and had really good spices but I thought it was a little salty. However, the elotes were amazing! It was kind of Smokey which I really liked. For drinks, I order the clover cocktail which is a speciality drink for St. Patrick's. The cocktail was not overly sweet and it had a more floral scent-- may be hibiscus. I thought it was great! I ordered the veggie enchiladas with green sauce the first time (not a menu item, but they will gladly make it for you if you're looking for a vegetarian option). I ordered them with the red sauce the second time, and my friend had the steak tacos. The pineapple jalapeño margarita is probably one of the best margaritas I've had in a very long time. I've been wanting to try Lady Dahlia in Mt. Prospect for a while, and I finally made it! The food was delicious. I had the three cheese enchiladas and the three cheese bowl, and both were super flavorful. The portions are generous--you get rice, beans, salad, and guac with your meal, so it's very filling. We also tried the queso fundido, but it wasn't what I expected. I thought it would be more like a classic queso dip, but it didn't quite hit the mark. That said, the entrées definitely made up for it. For vegetarians, the main filling option is cheese, which is great if you're a cheese lover like me, but I'd love to see more variety with veggie-based fillings in the future. The decor is beautiful, with a cozy and charming atmosphere, and they even have a small party room for events. I recently took my friend to Lady Dahlia Tequila Bar to celebrate his birthday, and while the atmosphere was very cute and vibey with attentive service, the food didn't quite meet our expectations. We enjoyed the two items they offered during happy hour, sampling their classic margaritas as well as their guac & chips & salsa. We also ordered street corn croquettes, mango ceviche, braised short rib Oaxacan pizza, and steak manchego tacos. The margaritas and guac were delicious and of great value during happy hour, but the rest of the food felt overpriced for what it delivered. The corn croquettes missed that oomph. I was hoping for a crispy texture, but they were a lot mushy and lacked that flavor. The mango ceviche was similarly underwhelming, with an interesting flavor, and the chips served with it tasted too similar to the pizza crust and the tortilla chip. Everything just started to taste the same at one point. The tacos were salty, although the short ribs on the pizza were flavorful and well-prepared. My first visit to Lady Dahlia left me with a mixed experience overall, but let's start with the positives: The environment of the restaurant was outstanding. It is clean, vibrant, spacious, and includes 4 seating options: Outdoor tables, "Mixed" indoor high tops near an open front where you get a great breeze, fully indoor tables, and individual bar seating. Beyond the environment, the staff were on point. The service was exceptional, with quick, warm-mannered, and detail oriented staff from start to finish. We were seated swiftly, our server recommended various dishes to us, and was always attentive to our needs throughout the meal. Of course, the first steps of any meal starts with the drinks. The traditional margarita was fantastic! Balanced well and very flavorful, albeit served in a smaller glass (cost of $11). Definitely a drink to experience at Lady Dahlia's if you're looking for a flavorful experience. Beyond drinks, the main focus of any establishment should always be the food. For an initial appetizer, since there are no free chips and salsa (they charge $4, which is wild to me), Nachos felt appropriate to start and to determine initial food quality of the restaurant. Thankfully, the nachos impressed (base cost of $13), with flavorful (and non-oily) chips, well seasoned chicken, and great guac on top (among other fixings). If you want an included protein, you can choose ground beef ($4), chicken ($5), or steak ($8) - all with an upcharge to the $13 base price. The portion size was sizable, with quality ingredients to match with the chips. While this appetizer was a bit forced as a choice because of the lack of free chips & salsa, overall, it was fantastic and gave hope for the rest of the meal. Unfortunately, that hope wasn't fully fulfilled upon delivery of the main dishes. For Entrees, it was decided to order Al Pastor tacos (3 tacos with a side of rice and beans for a cost of $17), Mahi Mahi tacos (3 tacos with a side of rice and beans for a cost of $21), and a Short Rib Bowl (cost of $19). The Al Pastor tacos were quite heavy on the cinnamon, and included a mix of habanero into their marinade, which was an unusual addition but it did provide great flavor. These tacos are not traditional Al Pastor by any means, but were enjoyable by my standards. Just be aware that these are different than the usual Al Pastor flavor that is expected and common across the Chicagoland area (from my experience). If you do not like cinnamon-forward marinades or the flavor of habanero, you will not enjoy these. The Mahi Mahi tacos were quite bland, and flavorless - nothing to write home about by any means. When we asked for some salsa or hot sauce to kick up the flavor, we were presented with two options: 1) A habanero hot sauce that melted your face off OR 2) A green (verde) salsa that was essentially water with a hint of flavor and no spice whatsoever - neither options were appealing to bring the tacos up to par. The fish needs more seasoning, and the restaurant needs to overhaul their salsa & hot sauce choices, especially to create a mid-level spicy yet flavorful option that most people would enjoy. The Short Rib bowl had pretty good flavor and was clean, but the short rib was a bit dry. Typically, short rib should melt in the mouth and ooze satisfaction with every bite. Perhaps it was cooked too long or needs some additional preparation before cooking, but with a delicate fix I'm sure this dish could go from "good" to "outstanding". In conclusion, Lady Dahlia is a visual spectacle after their remodel, one that will impress upon first glance, with service to match. The food, however, still needs improvement to match that visual quality that was so focused on with that remodel. When style and appearance overshadow food quality and refinement, customers are not likely to return. 3/5 stars from this initial visit. read more

Such a cute find off the mount prospect metra train stop. The interior is beautiful, but we wanted to sit outside on this nice day. If you're looking for a good happy hour spot, Lady Dahlia provides a great atmosphere with excellent service. Came on a Wednesday with some friends and got the chips and guacamole HH special. The chips were pleasant - fried and salted just right. The guac was also seasoned perfectly and there's a generous amount. I had a couple margaritas since all the margs were part of the happy hour special - pineapple jalapeno and ginger peach. Delicious, light, and perfect on a summer day. They had the right amount of oomph to relax you. Can we talk about the service?? The staff here is incredible! The speed and attention to detail is better at Lady Dahlia compared to many high end restaurants. Whether it's filling your water, providing suggestions, taking away plates, and more, the staff here is well trained and made my table feel well taken care of. Came out to Lady Dahlia for Wednesday Specials and Happy Hour. It was a group of four of us to share small bites and try their large variety of margaritas. The inside was vibrant and coastal with a lot of plants throughout. For a smaller restaurant, they maximized seating without feeling cramped. The front windows opened for great indoor/outdoor vibes to the street. Wednesday was the perfect day to cone as all margaritas were $8! I tried the Prickly Pear & Cucumber Margarita; the Blood Orange Margarita gets an honorable mention. They weren't overly spirit forward and all the ingredients tasted fresh. For small bites, we shared the chips & guac, nacho oaxacan pizza, plantains, and queso fandito. All the food came out hot. Everything tasted house made which was a nice touch. The only reason I give this place a 3 is because we have been to so many Mexican places and have had food that was cheaper and much better. Our first margaritas were served to us 1/2 full and they were 13 dollars each. They tasted great and they make their own stuff, but for a margarita you expect something bigger. I stopped here for drinks and an app with a friend and we sat at the bar area. Staff members are very nice and attentive, service was quick and we were in and out within an hour. My friend tried the ginger peach marg and that was light, easy to drink and tasty. I had the prickly pear marg and that was excellent as well - it had a bit of smokiness from the mezcal and was pretty well balanced. Excellent food with all sort of unique options on their menu. The trio dip with queso, salsa and guacamole is a great start. Shrimp tacos were delicious and blood orange margarita a perfect drink.
