So another update on the "Luxury La Privada". First and again these are not nor will they ever be luxury. So, the "security" gates have not been working for over 2 months!!! No notice given as to why or when (or if) these will be fixed. Yes we all know you changed the look of both entrances but that has been finished for well over a month. Again, NOT luxury!!! Last item. Why are all the plants dying? Why do we have to see broken down appliances? You have a storage shed, use it for this. We as residents are tired of poorly kept grounds and a leasing office that does NOT care. Bat poop and dirty carport . Yet the manager swears she walks the grounds DAILY! If you ask she will show you her sneakers! Please Greystar let us out of our lease!! read more

I know this location was recently acquired by Greystar so it is in the process of renovating & making it a Greystar property. The brick interior is something I have trouble wrapping my brain around. Was it initially an exterior that someone decided to enclose? Can I hang things on the brick? Will it make a mess? How do I fill in the holes if I moved? How well insulated is the brick? Does it retain heat or cold? Does it muffle or amplify sounds? So. Many. Questions. But, something I found to not be attractive. I understand when a company acquired another, the acquiring company wants to make its mark. But, don't do that at my expense $$$. It's not acceptable to say you want to throw the money around because the company has it. I don't know if that's enough for me to not do business with Greystar in the future but it's enough for me to not want to rent from this location. I'm not ok with high rent already but then to feel as though the rents are going to be increased because Greystar wants to throw money around or show how much money it has, is disgusting & so very off putting. It didn't feel like home to me or super welcoming. I don't know how much would have to go into an apartment to make it feel like home. read more

Highly recommend avoiding this nightmare Psycho neighbor thinks he's a Rockstar and reverberations of his technology make my place shake almost 24/7 Dog urine stench permeates the property to the point of not being on the grounds and I am an animal rescuer, the real kind not the fake flippers. Ready to move out and sue this place for being entrapped in a nightmare. And yes the bathtub starts peeling by day 3. Disgusting beyond belief you are expected to actually bathe in that toxin and be ultimately charged as if it's wear and tear. There is zero soundproofing between these units. La Privada was recently taken over by a new management company. Ever since this happened, they cannot get their billing straight, resulting in a different payment amount each month with no explanation or method to resolve anything. They communicate very poorly and argue with residents over the phone. The complex has gone downhill with the addition of this new management company and combining that with the extremely ridiculous rates of this complex, I would not recommend. Spend your money elsewhere where you'll get more value and the office workers will care about your residency in the complex. read more

OVERPRICED PAPER THIN WALLS. If you can hear a 30 pound dog walking above you and it sounds like the ceiling going to collapse it might be time for some insulation. Now imagine a 200+ pound person walking. I doubt the structure of the building even meets county codes. The high price you pay for the extremely poor quality you get is absurd. Since the week I moved in (9 months ago) I wanted to get out of here and have asked if we can figure out a solution to make it right. They said after 6 months I can transfer to a top unit. After month 6 I looked to transfer and they said my rent would go from $2,500 to over $4,000 if I transferred. An apartment that should be about $1,600... Worst experience I've ever had living at an apartment. If I could give 0 stars I would. There's a lot of other great places to live in the area, check those out before making the mistake of signing a lease here! It was so bad they didn't give hot water and wouldn't let me out of my lease (which they had me re sign twice because they lost pages and were unorganized). Although she went with her job offer in Texas, she most definitely would've rented with La Privada. Sarah, the leasing agent helped us out and Samer greeted us. It was a very busy Saturday, when they were hosting a resident event for Cinco de mayo! Tubs & Showers aren't professionally resurfaced so when the paint peels off the tile they will make you pay for their shoddy work. Moved into a dirty apartment, left it cleaner than received. Just beware and remember to request your final walkthrough with them. They will nickel and dime you and then still charge more. read more

La Privada used to be a much better community prior to Greystar taking over. I've had two work orders in and I'm still waiting. The first work order was put in around 11/16/2022 and the second order was put in 12/8/2022. Todays date is 12/21/2022. Do the math. That is quite some time to be waiting for my in unit washing machine to be taken care of and 2 weeks without a working stove. You would think since I'm paying above fair market rent I would get treated accordingly, but that's not the case here. I would highly dissuade you from moving here unless you want to pay high rent with terrible management. read more

La Privada - 10 + calls to management DURING BUSINESS HOURS... no answer - Apartments Near Me - Scottsdale, Arizona

I've lived in some really awful apartments over the years but this one really takes the cake. Yes, it's even worse than the cheapest off campus apartments by ASU... Our leasing agent Anna (no longer with La Privada) was pushy and wouldn't give straight answers to simple questions like "is the pool heated year around?" (it's not). The day our lease term started I had to call the leasing office myself to have them send us a copy of the lease to sign because that had still not been done yet and Darnell at the office seemed very caught off guard by that. Upon first entering the unit, the carpets were still wet. Almost as if the guy who came to clean them had just left as we were getting our keys. Thank god we didn't have movers scheduled because we had to wait a full two days for the carpets to be dry enough to even move in. When we asked the office for any type of reimbursement for the two days we had lost off our lease term we were ignored. The maintenance team was in and out of the unit for the first few days asking me questions about service requests from months ago that were not complete. They were super behind due to Greystar taking over the property which I was understanding of. I didn't have any idea about the requests so I said I'd let them know if anything came up related to those items. Then came the first rain and our ceiling caved in. There was so much water pouring onto the carpet of our apartment I almost thought our washing machine broke. That ended up happening later too. Due to the issue with the ceiling we had two industrial fans in the hallway and second bedroom to dry the carpet and wall for nearly a week before anyone came to cut the drywall away and replace it. Then it happened a second time and they FINALLY got someone out to look at the roof. Because of this, our second bedroom was practically unusable for the first two months of our lease. When we asked about any reimbursements or concessions for not being able to use half of our apartment for two months, again we were ignored. Starting to see a trend here? My boyfriend went to the office several times in person and met with Justin (who was actually understanding and helpful) as well as the property manager. He spoke to two different managers due to turnover and it felt as if we were pushed away by the first one because she knew she was leaving and didn't want to deal with it. Didn't matter either way because we never ended up getting any help. Once the roof/ceiling was dealt with we were able to have a couple months of peace until they had to replace the circuit breakers in each apartment. Whatever they installed was apparently not compatible with the electrical infrastructure at the complex (we were told this by another electrician) because the breakers kept flipping. There was a two day period where we couldn't depend on our fridge running because of this. We had to move around all of our small kitchen appliances to keep the breakers from tripping and I wasn't able to dry my hair without having to leave the bathroom at least 5 times to flip the breaker back on. This was irritating to say the least and it took forever for them to get anyone out. The electrician who originally installed it gave me his personal number because I had so many issues with it and he knew the apartment wasn't capable of doing anything in a timely manner when it came to something as important as electricity. There were improvements happening the entire time we lived there and I will say they did a great job with the clubhouse, pool, and dog park. I was expecting them to fix the gates once they were done with improvements but that did not happen. My heart goes out to Emily who mentions in her review that her car was stolen because of this. I was shocked because this is a pretty nice area, but I guess it doesn't matter. If the opportunity is given, a criminal will take it. After all of this, they didn't offer us a renewal, presumably because they were going to renovate the unit. I was trying my best to be understanding about everything that happened because we did get a great deal on the monthly rate since the unit was not renovated. Looking at what they are charging now for renovated units I can tell you it is NOT worth it even slightly. Because of this experience I will never rent at a Greystar property ever again. When we first moved here, their rating was 4 stars and it now sits at 1. It's amazing what poor management and an awful resident experience can do. I have never felt so much relief to be rid of a place and am happy I can finally move on with my life. Please, live anywhere else. read more

I just moved down to Arizona from Washington state the end of January. Flew down end of December to find a place to live. I truly must've looked at 25 different apartment locations in Scottsdale at that time. La Privada stood out. I worked with Sarah. She was absolutely wonderful with all my multiple questions I had moving into a different state and finding the right place. I have been working with Shaker, he also is awesome and has taken care of me since I moved here, requesting my maintenance that I needed, making sure I'm always OK and that he can't do anything more for me, this is awesome to have someone have your back. James, who is the head of Maintenance is over here almost immediately fixing whatever I need, you see the golf carts running around the complex making sure that everyone is taken care of... He helped me with a few extra things, being single (older) woman, that I just can't do... Everything is always taken care of _ the pool is always clean, love the exercise studio. This is the cleanest complex I've ever seen in my life, and on the top of it, the people that move in are awesome... how does that happens (?)I don't know, I guess they're just all happy ...met more friends here in a couple months that I did in year up in Washington. Oh my goodness! I was looking forward to renting an apartment from La Privada. Sven after seeing some reviews and being skeptical, I was still willing to give them a shot, but after the most recent review from Emily Y, I am NO LONGER considering renting from La Privada. It baffles me at how unprofessional they acted and that they are willing to treat their tenants like this. I will not risk getting stuck in a lease with a company who cares more about money than a tenants loyalty. Plus it goes to show they HEAVILY lack in customer satisfaction or any type of empathy. After the takeover from AMC they have done a lot of great work, Any negative reviews are from people who are impatient and expect everything to happen overnight. You're Doing a GREAT job. I had a HORRIBLE experience living at La Privada. Here's most of the issues I experienced within a 12 month lease, from Nov 2022 to Dec 2023: FIRST, there was an EXTREMELY high cost of electricity for most of my time living there due to lack of proper air conditioning repairs. Moved in Dec of 2022, and starting Jan 17th my bill was already at about $350 for the month. The heating was rarely on, AC wasn't on. Normal use of all other electricity in the apartment. I spoke with multiple people outside of this apartment complex that I know, and their bills were less than half that! Something is extremely wrong with this. It all just got worse when the summer heat began. We were paying about $500-600 PER MONTH while our air conditioning was set to 78 degrees F. Our apartment was not capable of going ANY lower than that. In fact, starting July, we ran into an issue where our apartment started to reach an average of 83-84 degrees inside (though the thermostat was SET to 78) - it was completely unbearable. The air conditioning was constantly running, but you could barely feel any air coming out of any of the vents inside the apartment. It took SEVERAL attempts (online maintenance requests and in-person communication) to get maintenance to come down and try to fix the issue, and there was a lack of communication from the staff which was very frustrating and unfair to us that I did express to them. It took about 14 days until the AC was working better, but the root problem never got solved because the air flow is so bad, again, you could barely feel any cool air coming out of the vents even though we tried explaining it to them multiple times. Well, after having to pay these large electricity bills due to lack of urgency from their side, I did ask someone in their front office about getting compensated for the difference of a "normal" APS month to our expensive month due to our AC being an issue and they would not do it. I would think that customer loyalty is more important than the thousands of dollars Greystar earns each month, but this showed what their priorities are, and I can tell you from my own experience, customer satisfaction/fairness is NOT one of them. NEXT, there was a lack of security - security gate was not working for months on end. During my time living here, renovations were made at the Via Linda gate and Mountain View gate. As these renovations started, I noticed that the security gates were being left open at all times of the day. I didn't care much at first, but well after the renovations had been finished, the security gates were left open (both in and out). I'd say for about the last four months living here, the gates had been open for 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Well, the UNIMAGINABLE thing happened to me at the end of September 2023. My vehicle was STOLEN in the middle of the night, right from inside of La Privada. For some background, my apartment was practically right next to the Mountain View gate, so I'm sure someone from outside of the apartment found their opportunity to steal my vehicle. I fully believe this never would of happened to me if it weren't for La Privada's carelessness of the gate being broken. After my vehicle was stolen, I went into the front office to ask about potential cameras to find any evidence to what occurred. Upon stating my vehicle had been stolen, there was a woman employee and male employee, in which the woman was sympathetic to my situation, but the male employee had a bit of a smile on his face and did not show any empathy, which I found to be quite insulting and rude considering how I felt at the time. That was a horrible way to treat a tenant, and showed a complete lack in customer service skills. FURTHERMORE, rent here was quite high, and other fees like Fetch and Parking are included, but this genuinely was the least of my concern with all of the other problems I experienced, but something that I know is important for others who are looking for a place to live. Additionally, Landscaping on the apartment property occurs early AM on weekends. read more
