I'm giving 4 stars instead of 2 or 3 because I imagine the parking lot side of the hotel is great. But in my 3 times here traveling for work, I've never experienced that - including this last time when I asked for a quiet room because I had a big day the next day. Big rigs fly by on the road just outside all day and night - often engine breaking to add to the noise. I was in a corner 3rd floor room this last time, and despite white noise at full volume on one phone and earbuds in with soft music coming from the other, it was still loud to the point I called the front desk about 1: 00 asking for another room - but none were available. I'm not a light sleeper and colleagues have also said they slept poorly. Otherwise, the hotel is clean and comfortable - 5 stars. The breakfast is good (with higher protein options) and the location is convenient as well - easy to get in and out of. Can't decide if I'll go back. Perhaps I'll call first to see if I can be guaranteed an even-numbered room... read more

The Scarlet Vetter says....we were closed out of the Batavia Downs Hotel so we looked for an alternate nearby. This was very close and had four stars and the reviews were good. The good stuff: the parking lot was spacious, they offer a free breakfast and wifi and they have a decent gym and pool for those looking for those amenities. Now for the issues. The Elevator was out of order. The gentleman in line ahead of us asked about the location of the gym. He then was asked if he wanted a first floor room due to the inoperable elevator and he said yes. Hmmm. Then when my husband and I (in our 60s and me with an injured right knee) were being checked in, she told us we were on the 3rd floor and that she hoped we did not have alot of luggage. Not good. We inquired about the availability of a first floor room and were told that they were sold out. Serious demerit for giving the first floor room to the workout oriented buck ahead of us in line. The hotel is well appointed and the room was seemingly clean but smelled like cigarette smoke. The temperature was difficult to control. My oura ring said my overnight body temp was +.08 which is very unusual for me. The bed was hard. It was quiet overnight and that was a plus. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with lots of towels. However when the fan was turned on in the bathroom, it sounded like a jet engine was in there with you. A helpful feature for them is a text in the morning asking what your intended check out time was so they could plan. That is efficient. The lobby was spacious with late night snack and food offerings with a microwave available. In short, I would likely only come here again failing other known quantities in overnight accommodations in Batavia. read more

We were very pleasantly surprised by this motel! The room was spacious and immaculate. The sofa was far more comfortable than we generally find in motels, as was the desk chair. All the furnishings we comfortable and practical. The shower was excellent. We will stay again! read more

We booked last minute day of as our trip went faster than expected and we needed a night's stay somewhere. Staff was friendly, facilities were clean. Indoor pool was too chilly for my families liking. Newly build and modern decor. Recently stayed at La Quinta and right off the bat had an unpleasant experience with the lady checking us in. Nothing bothers me more then awful customer service. Unfortunately ran into a few scenarios were we had to contact her and all were very underwhelming. Seems like we were bothering her, which bothered me a bit. We usually stay here when in town, but on a August 2020 stay, I consistently saw housekeeping staff going in and out of rooms without facemarks. This does not comply with proper COVID-19 safety protocols. The excuse given by a manager was "the room will be fogged afterward." Even if that is true, seeing housekeeping act in such a cavalier manner does not signal to customers that you are absolutely concerned about their safety. read more

I made a reservation 45 days in advance. Even got a email the night before reminding me of my stay. So I drove an hour and a half after working a 14 hour day. The receptionist told me there was no reservation and they had no rooms available. Pretty stressful. So I leave and go to look for another place to stay. Everyone at this hotel is truly incredible at customer service! I was terrified because I lost my laptop while I was here and had already drove all the way back home, 7 hours away! I spoke to the super friendly front desk employees and they did EVERYTHING they possibly could to find my laptop, going above and beyond (including searching around the parking lot for it). When Maria at the front desk let me know that she found my computer I was overwhelmed with joy! The manager mailed it to my address in record time, problem solved. What lifesavers! We are traveling with a moving truck, car, and two cats. This means our choice of hotel options are more limited. This hotel was wonderful! We arrived late, completely exhausted after a full day of moving with two scared cats that had never been on a car ride. The night attendant was wonderful! She got us a good room, gave us free toothbrushes as we had packed ours somewhere random, and set us up for breakfast right away. The room was comfortable, big, and worked perfect for us. It was heaven after sleeping on a couch and air mattress for a week. La Quinta doesn't charge a pet fee which is awesome! Due to a physics mistake by me litter had spilled on the floor. On our way out we told the day staff. They laughed, said no problem, and told us our cats were cute. It is a well managed hotel with a great staff! Highly recommended. read more

Great customer service and of course pet friendly. The fan is a liitle loud in the bathroom and I hate to disturb my neighbors who are trying to sleep at 5 am when I wake up. Yummy light waffles for breakfast. It would have gotten a hugher review aside from their was a sign on both lawns that said it had been treated with pesticides. i saw this after I was walking my dogs around. Friendly front desk. Beautiful and clean room, great free breakfast so why is it only 3 stars? Well the cleaning person basically rushed us out of our room around 9am. We told her 5 minutes before she tried the first time that we'd be leaving soon. Yes she spoke and understood english. Sorry I dont remember her name. We had a 10 dollar bill on the desk for her and took it back after the 2nd attempt to rush us out of the room. first off let me say that every time i visit upstate which is frequently i stay here! it is clean, centrally located, near food and strip malls, and they are pet friendly! Chelsea is amazing!! She is so welcoming and accommodating! One time i had a problem with a room and she moved me within minutes! Visit this town but so often due to the fact my husband is in the area, service is an understatement when staying with them, Lisa the front desk host is amazing she does her absolute best to make sure she helps you. We had a minor issue with the smoke detector, she made sure that someone came right away which was amazing and we were not in the room and she called and asked was it okay to allow the person in, I have stayed in other hotels but this one is the best thus far.. also I wanna give a shout out to Robin as well due to the fact that she is always willing to help when I'm there the 3rd I've encountered with robin and she doesn't miss a beat. Very nice hotel. Seems new or newly remodeled. No tub in the bathroom, though, which made it hard to clean up my younger kids. Also no high chair in breakfast area. My big complaint for almost all hotels this one included is that there is no place to hang wet towels. Seriously how hard is it to install more than two little hooks on the back of the door? Families stay in these rooms too, and we need towel bars or hooks for bath towels, wash cloths, and hand towels. read more

They have kept this LQ in great shape and the rooms are clean and fresh. It has been a usual stop for me and my 90 lb husky mix for many years and it's as bright and well appointed as ever. Staff easy to deal with. It's pretty close to the Thruway, so worth reserving an even numbered room to avoid road noise. It's not bad, but would perhaps annoy a light sleeper. I make a trans-country drive 2 to 4 times a year, always stay at LQ (for my dog and for their dog policy), and always stay at this one, which is top of the list for me. read more

Your reservation means nothing to the management of this hotel. I called for a reservation at 2 pm I was assured that I was all set. I arrived at 10 o'clock to find the room that I was given was not cleaned,the beds were not made, bathroom was a mess. When I went back to the front desk I was told there where no other rooms available. I was told to try the Red Roof Inn. If I wanted to stay at the Red Roof Inn I would have called there in the first place. The management at this La Quinta is very poor. Think twice before making plans to stay here. read more

Stayed here because the room at the Red Roof Inn next door had a water main break. (PS don't stay there EVER). This hotel was okay. It was certainly dated and wasn't the cleanest place I've ever stayed in but I dealt with it. Well, other than hair in the sink and bathtub - that's just disgusting. We were on a road trip, and coming east from Buffalo. Batavia seemed like the last place to stop for a while, so we stopped in to look for a hotel. Other places were full, but recommended the La Quinta, saying it was newer, or had just been redone (I can't remember which). Service at the front desk was friendly, even late at night! After a very long day on the road I elected to stay here out of the six choices at this exit. I was greeted by Tina at the desk. She has a great personality and made the check in process move smoothly. I went to my room and found everything looked new. Clearly the hotel has had a major renovation. The best surprise was the shower. It was exceptional by any standard. The beds were comfortable. My only complaint is that the pillows were too hard for me. The next morning I went to the complimentary breakfast. It was comparable to breakfast in similar hotels. What made it exceptional was how Pam kept every item stocked. She made sure that all the tables and counters were perfectly cleaned. It was like watching the energizer bunny. It was a great stay. read more

A great place cheap place to stay. Due to a little dog obsession, we often bring our dogs with us when we travel. Almost every time, we look for this wonderful, dog friendly hotel chain called La Quinta. Overall this is definitely one of the best La Quinta I have stayed it. The rooms are extremely cheap, at around $80 a night. The lobby is very beautiful, with lots of seating, and a wonderful fount desk. Everyone in the staff is friendly and really does make this a wonderful stay. The rooms are clean and well maintained. They keep a more modern look and feel. Each room is very well decorated, with pictures featuring Niagara Falls and New York City. We were placed in a ground floor room, just a couple rooms down from a side door, which was perfect for taking the dogs out. The pool is also very clean and warm. Our stay ended with a trip to the breakfast bar. The food was just as good as any other hotel breakfast. It features eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, all sorts of fruits and breads and a waffle maker. Definitely not the best breakfast food I have ever eaten, but still very good. Overall a great place to stay and very good for the price! Definitely made me a bigger La Quinta fan! read more

Hotel and staff are wonderful. Very clean. No complaints for that at all. But we stayed one night 9/23 after long 8 days of travel with more to follow. Needed non stressed good night sleep. Room across the hall had a small dog that barked NON stop for 3 hours. After first hour we called the office. Steve (who is absolutely wonderful) told us he had received other complaints and he would call the room. It was obvious there was no human in that room. Barking did not stop for 2 more hours.Humans returned and we heard another room ask if that was their dog. They said yes and it would be fine now.(no apologies were offered). However dog continued to bark as the humans decided to talk loudly outside their room (dog inside) with apparently others staying on the same floor that they knew (later found out they were attending a wedding that weekend via main desk). Upon looking at La Quinta pet policy (* Pets (s) shall remain within your control at all times, either on a leash or in a carrier. Pets may remain alone in a guestroom so long as the pet is well-behaved. However, if your pet is disturbing other guests/staff or causing damage, then it cannot be left alone and must remain in your control.) It is apparent that there is not a clause that states pets cannot be left unattended. BIG issue when normally quiet pets, in strange location...can possibly be different then when at home. NO provision if pets are left and an annoyance as in this case). I complained the next morning to clerk then the manager. I was told they could not remove anything from any room, including pets. Steve, evening front desk did call the room and the cell phone listed. NO one answered...and the rest of the guests on third floor had to listen non stop to the dog, and later by the rude and inconsiderate humans tied to that room. EVEN after I opened my door to tell them they were bothering us...they continued to on/off every 15 minutes or so to congregate in the hall. NO we did not complain at that point...as nothing was solved by the complaint about the dog. According to the front desk the next morning they never had so many complaints as that night. Unless they change their policy and make sure dogs are not left unattended in the rooms...this could easily be a repeat. Other than that the hotel is wonderful. I was offered a discount on the room which was nice....but didn't quite make up for the much needed sleep. Perhaps if they were to house all the pets in one area...lowest floor (not third)....that would also help. Smaller dog barking spurred larger dog to bark down the hall a few times. Biggest issue is their allowing animals to left unattended and having no recourse if unattended dog is disturbing other paying guests. read more
