Carpet being installed in rooms on same floor as we were placed.

Would not stay again. Was not told in advance that the property was undergoing renovation of new carpet. No signage at front desk upon check in. We were placed on the 3rd floor. Elevator was not operating. Multiple issues with room (anchor protruding through wall in sitting area at head level of the couch, vinyl peeling off headboard in bedroom, rust in bottom of tub, vent in bathroom fifthly). Largest complaint was being woke up at 8:30am on Sunday morning to contractors moving furniture, banging tools and loud music. Noise was so loud it shook the walls. Was told by one of the housekeeping crew that we should have never been placed on the 3rd floor that is was under renovation. Renovating is understandable but hotel should have never placed paying guests on the same floor, let alone in a room right next to ones that are being renovated. Upon checkout, early by the way, other guests must have experienced the same dissatisfaction because the staff placed a sign at the front desk regarding renovations. This should have been disclosed prior to booking room!

ceiling in bathroom with peeling paint

When I pointed out the peeling paint from the ceiling in our bathroom to the front desk staff, they responded, "It's OK, we won't charge you for damages". wait, WHAT??? First of all, this is NOT "OK". Secondly, WHAT??? I'll never step foot in another La Quinta. Anywhere. Ever. A complete dump which added insult to injury.

Aaaahhhh - and that's why I'm a Hilton and Bonvoy Marriot rewards member. But a friend told me this was a great place to stay. Staff were fine and friendly - that wasn't the issue. If you're going to charge me 278.00 a night make sure you up your game with the quality and care of your room and property. You charge me more, I'm going to expect more. Let's begin - checked into the room - the toilet seat was broken - let's just say you couldn't relax. We reported it on the day we checked in, we checked out 3 days later and we still have a broken toilet seat. The staff were nice, but passive. Shower curtain had yellowing happening on the bottom - time to get a new one or bleach it. I've attached some pics - please spend some time fixing and maintaining the room (208). Rug was coming up at the seams, wall near tub & shower was peeling, needs a shower curtain, please fix the toilet seat. And you need new lamp shades - the ones you have are stained and dented. The head board was worn (see pics) For $278 I expect $278 quality. Oh yeah the walls are really thin. And you could hear your neighbors conversation if you stand in the bathroom. Sorry LaQuinta - I won't be back.

    Indoor pool

Nice quiet hotel. Helpful and friendly front desk staff. Dogs are allowed. Indoor pool and small outside patio area. I have no issues upon our tonight's day. It's one of the better hotels in the area in my opinion for price and quality, especially after saying at the Cartoon Network hotel for double the price a night!

She rolled her eyes & treated me like an idiot for asking a question. This nasty employee should be fired.

This person "greeted" me after a 3 hour drive. She demanded my credit card when I prepaid. I simply asked why and she rolled her eyes at me, treated me like an idiot for asking a question. Needless to say I canceled my reservation here. I reported the incident to the manager who said she will be "re-trained". You can't teach etiquette. This nasty employee should be fired. What a disgusting representation of a hotel. She has no business in the hospitality industry.

It would have been nice to have electrical outlets on both sides of the bed but that didn't take away much from the experience. When looking for hotels in the area the Fulton Steamboat Inn came up. We were very intrigued from the moment we saw it online. Wow, we were not disappointed. We arrived at night and as soon as we rounded the corner and pulled in all three of us said "wow". It was that beautiful! A steamboat designed hotel inside and out! There's a small lake with ducks, a playground, a fire pit area, and a nice seating area. They have a restaurant on sight, but we did not eat there. They also have a small gift shop. They did a great job at keeping things looking clean. The free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cookies were a nice touch. They had the place beautifully decorated for Christmas. We plan to stay there the next we are in town. We have already recommended the place to several people!

The first red flag-we had ants in our room. They were crawling all over the nightstand between the beds. They were everywhere, we didn't complain. The next day the ants were crawling on the head board, beds, & in my suitcase, which I kept off the floor & on the table in the room. There was also a beetle. Didn't complain. I have photos but cant post them it seems. The shower has a mind of its own. Doesn't matter the setting, it will go back & forth in temperature to scolding hot to freezing cold. The last day we were there, the 6 of us friends who booked here wanted to use the pool with the bride & groom & her parents. We were told by the front desk we could have guest we just have to have our wrist bands. We weren't being rowdy or breaking the rules, but I guess the OFF DUTY general manager was upset that we were ruining her day off in her personal pool because she tried to get the young life guard to kick out our friends & that wasn't going to happen. So she came over from her lawn chair and told us who she was & she tried to kick them out. we stood firm with the fact that 6 of us are staying at this hotel & that we have spent a collective of almost 2k for the weekend here. I was ready to complain about the ants in front of the other guest in the pool if she insisted further, but she eventually dropped it & went back to tanning. Other pool guest told us that was rude of her, & it wasn't that big of deal. We won't be back.

Each room is decorated with a variety of Victorian furniture and named after something musical. This is the place where we discovered their very yummy hot apple cider! Breakfast was filling and yummy. I believe we had French Toast with a size of fresh fruits and tea/coffee. We usually come up to Lancaster to go to our favorite restaurant there, Dienner's Country Restaurant. While we were here, we also got a chance to visit Jennie's Diner, conveniently located right across the street. There are no TVs in the rooms, but we enjoyed that idea it gave us a more intimate setting. We ended up playing cards and with the chess set available in the nicely decorated living room (we were there during Christmas time). They were kind enough to take some pictures for us near the fireplace and Christmas tree. This time, like others, we went In December, and was able to enjoy our short time here. We were greeted warmly by Tim and Heidi again. I even got to enjoy some hot apple cider at breakfast! We enjoyed our time here and hope to visit again soon! :)
