    Mike S.

"Good Morning, my friends!" the owner cheerfully greets you as you enter the lobby/breakfast area of the Weathervane. He asked how is everything with my stay and my room number and he immediately knew my name "Ah..Mr. Mike! Glad you are enjoying your stay!". You'd be hard pressed not to like a place that is so warm and welcoming - add to it that the rooms are extremely reasonable, clean with nice amenities, and centrally located in the heart of "Amish Country" all makes the Weathervane an ideal place to stay. The Weathervane's rooms are single level and housed in a brick building with ample parking in its circular layout. The rooms come with a mini-fridge, microwave, the sink located outside the bathroom which is important especially if you are staying with more than 2 people in a room to save time. Breakfast is included, so the price increases slightly when you have more than 2 in a room to cover the cost. They honor AAA, Senior, AARP discounts, but even without them the room price is extremely reasonable. Booking through their website should snag you the best rate. The breakfast is continental with an assortment of donuts, bagels, oatmeal, an OJ dispenser and nice strong coffee. The carb heavy selection may not be the perfect way to start the day, but it is better than nothing. Constructive criticism: adding yogurt, or hard boiled eggs for a protein alternative would be welcome. There are tables in here and also many brochures with area attractions available for the taking. The place lacks a pool, but it wasn't missed when we stayed over the holiday week in December. You can hear a slight bit of road noise in the room, but nothing too troublesome. The beds are comfortable and should take care of your needs nicely if you plan on spending some time in the Lancaster County area!

The only motel we stay at. Staff is very nice and helpful. Clean rooms, great breakfast and reasonably priced.

Comfortable but sounds of traffic and thin walls. I could hear neighbors on both sides despite it looking like 70% of motel being empty.

Clean, comfortable and affordable. The owner is a nice person and it is best to call them directly to make a reservation.

This is the best budget hotel in the area - clean, family owned and really care about their customers.

When looking for hotels in the area the Fulton Steamboat Inn came up. We were very intrigued from the moment we saw it online. Wow, we were not disappointed. We arrived at night and as soon as we rounded the corner and pulled in all three of us said "wow". It was that beautiful! A steamboat designed hotel inside and out! There's a small lake with ducks, a playground, a fire pit area, and a nice seating area. They have a restaurant on sight, but we did not eat there. They also have a small gift shop. They did a great job at keeping things looking clean. The free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cookies were a nice touch. They had the place beautifully decorated for Christmas. We plan to stay there the next we are in town. We have already recommended the place to several people!

The first red flag-we had ants in our room. They were crawling all over the nightstand between the beds. They were everywhere, we didn't complain. The next day the ants were crawling on the head board, beds, & in my suitcase, which I kept off the floor & on the table in the room. There was also a beetle. Didn't complain. I have photos but cant post them it seems. The shower has a mind of its own. Doesn't matter the setting, it will go back & forth in temperature to scolding hot to freezing cold. The last day we were there, the 6 of us friends who booked here wanted to use the pool with the bride & groom & her parents. We were told by the front desk we could have guest we just have to have our wrist bands. We weren't being rowdy or breaking the rules, but I guess the OFF DUTY general manager was upset that we were ruining her day off in her personal pool because she tried to get the young life guard to kick out our friends & that wasn't going to happen. So she came over from her lawn chair and told us who she was & she tried to kick them out. we stood firm with the fact that 6 of us are staying at this hotel & that we have spent a collective of almost 2k for the weekend here. I was ready to complain about the ants in front of the other guest in the pool if she insisted further, but she eventually dropped it & went back to tanning. Other pool guest told us that was rude of her, & it wasn't that big of deal. We won't be back.

Each room is decorated with a variety of Victorian furniture and named after something musical. This is the place where we discovered their very yummy hot apple cider! Breakfast was filling and yummy. I believe we had French Toast with a size of fresh fruits and tea/coffee. We usually come up to Lancaster to go to our favorite restaurant there, Dienner's Country Restaurant. While we were here, we also got a chance to visit Jennie's Diner, conveniently located right across the street. There are no TVs in the rooms, but we enjoyed that idea it gave us a more intimate setting. We ended up playing cards and with the chess set available in the nicely decorated living room (we were there during Christmas time). They were kind enough to take some pictures for us near the fireplace and Christmas tree. This time, like others, we went In December, and was able to enjoy our short time here. We were greeted warmly by Tim and Heidi again. I even got to enjoy some hot apple cider at breakfast! We enjoyed our time here and hope to visit again soon! :)
