What an awesome find! The place still smells and looks new! We ended up stopping here for a night while on a road trip with our two small dogs. We were so happy to find out they were pet friendly. It cost us an extra $20 per pet per night, but it was worth it! The room was $94 plus tax for a king bed, nonsmoking room. Our room included a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer and bathroom amenities. The A/C was on a wall thermostat, which was pretty handy. The check-in process was pretty simple. They are following covid restrictions and employees are wearing masks. Masks are required inside and they have hand sanitizer stations set up for guests. Overall a great experience! We would definitely stay here again. Would highly recommend.

Visited this spot during covid-19 happening. Had Kleenex in elevator to press buttons with. Hand sanitizer available at entrance of elevator. Masks required. Employee was helpful at front desk and friendly. Bed and pillows were okay comfortably. Heard people in the other rooms next to us at 11 at night, down the hall, and outside. Had to turn on the tv to block out there noise as I was falling asleep. Pool was closed. Breakfast was alright. Had to line up to order it instead of self serve so there weren't that many options. Loved the mirror in the bathroom. Beautiful view outside window. WiFi available.

This is how nicely they dress for their job on Christmas Day and this is the only expression she had for us.

The front desk staff was rude from the moment we checked in. Especially after I corrected one of the clerks about the length of our stay, she was very angry after that and that's when our Christmas night from hell began. First, we we wearing masks, nobody else in the hotel were and staff was friendly to everyone but us, because we were wearing masks. Then when we got to our room, they gave us the worst room they had, it was in a tiny dark corner and was about 1/2 the size of the normal room, painted black! But we thought we had reserved a King Deluxe with a sofa. I called down to the front office to explain this, even saying I'd pay more if I needed to. The hotel was 1/4 booked, I know because The Expedia and Wyndham customer service told me so. When I was talking to them at the front desk, I was professional but I was certainly irritated by their unprofessionalism and their snotty teenage attitudes, regardless the front desk hung up the phone on us. My husband, always calm, cool and collected went to speak to the front desk and they treated him terribly and accused him of harassment for asking for two customer service forms. He came back to the room, defeated. Then some random lady calls our room and starts screaming at us that we're hassling their staff, when of course the opposite was true. We were being harassed. I called Expedia (who gave us a FULL refund ) so would could book our own upgrade but the front desk BLOCKED Expedia from booking any rooms at all! So I called Wyndham rewards and I booked a King Suite through them myself. We went down to the front desk where they REFUSED to honor our new reservations. Of course the spoiled, petty desk clerks just started at us. We were recording the event because they had accused my husband of harassment. She then, again called Esmeralda, the worst hotel manager in the state of Washington to have "talk with us" again. Their approach is hostility, not hospitality and she got on the phone, started once again screaming at us. Berating and insulting us, all from her comfy couch at home. Never once reviewing or looking at the entire situation. What had we done?! Filming a situation like that is perfectly legal in the state of WA. Screaming Esmeralda told us to stop filming and we complied. She never once tried to get her team to behave like professionals and only acted as an accelerator to an very unfriendly situation. But then Esmeralda told us we could stay for the night but had to leave n the morning?! Again we had done nothing but request the room we thought we had booked. But Esmeralda has a hateful heart and the last thing she wanted to do was help her customers at which point she screamed (all she did was scream), over the phone at the front desk "Actually LEAVE MY hotel now, you have to go now!". She scared my support dog, she scared me and my husband. It's not the greatest neighborhood in the world, pretty sketchy actually. The teenagers and 20 somethings like to party there and cause lots of noise, but they had zero problems with them, just us and we had no other place to go on Christmas night. The two front desk clerks had their roided out cousin standing two feet away from us tryin to intimidate us. These people are cruel, quick to judgement, lack any form of professional courtesy and are completely unfit for working with the public. When we filed our complaint, guess who was put in charge of the investigation? That's right queen Esmerelda who did absolutely nothing but block us for life from a hotel we had been staying at for years. It was the least Merry Christmas I've ever had and they ruined my birthday two days later because of their pettiness and ugliness. But I would say this is a great hotel for the despicable, the MAGA CROWD. They get off on "owning the libs and making them pay." And treating people worse than dogs. If you do book a room make sure you bring Esmeralda a toad, I heard she likes toads. Most witches do. We were harassed, yelled at, bullied and outright discriminated against. Never book this hotel, plenty of good options in Mt. Vernon or Bellingham. The final thing they yelled at us, as we were leaving the hotel at 9pm Christmas night with no other place to stay... "Fuck you, you stupid bitch." That rang through the entire lobby. I guess this is our new MAGA future, Fascist hotels. You've been warned!

The bed was comfortable and there was also a chaise with side table and a desk for me to work at. The shower was great with an adjustable head and very good water pressure. There was a mini fridge and microwave. This location also offers a pool and spa area which was clean and quiet. They had omelets, bacon and french toast on offer at our complimentary breakfast and free coffee and fruit available throughout the day. Also, very importantly for me, this location is dog friendly. They charge and additional $35 per night for dogs, which is not unreasonable and they have a small grassy area outside near the pool where you can take your dog to potty. I have included lots of photos because I know that's the first thing I look at when choosing a hotel but I was very happy and rested as I left here.

Looking for a place to stay as my husband, our little girl dog and I are traveling from Tumwater,…read moreWa to Vancouver, Canada, this seemed like a good stop for us as my husband didn't want to make the full drive and I really dislike arriving at a hotel at 10 pm or later. So I found this Candlewood Suites Burlington on my hotels.com app and decided to book a night to stay here. This hotel was surprisingly very affordable for a Saturday evening with only being $129 (prior to tax) and offers quite a spacious room with a king size bed. The pet fee was only $20 and we were very happy to have found out that they offer complementary dryer and washer for use (you just have to use your own detergent and dryer sheets). This was very helpful, as we ended up doing a load in the washer and then divided our load into 2 dryers (since no one was using them and it is faster to dry jeans this way from your other clothes). There are 3 washers to use and 4 dryers available. We checked in around 6:15 pm by a friendly employee. She gave us our keys and then we unloaded our car (they have luggage dollies at the front) and headed to our room, which was on the first floor. We had a kitchen and a full size fridge and microwave in our room, a fairly good size bathroom with plenty of counter space (I always dislike when bathrooms have so little counter space), Dove brand bath products, Dove soap bar, TV and desk that I was able to set up my laptop. The WiFi was fast and very happy that it never dropped while I was taking a test to earn a certification in my profession (I only had one attempt and so I was little nervous wondering if I would get dropped but I never did. Oh and I did pass for anyone that is wondering). Although there is no breakfast provided, you do have a kitchen in your room that you can use, which we did. So that wasn't a problem for us. Now one thing I do want to mention is that the walls between rooms are thin, as I heard neighbors around us. Also there is a train that seems to run at all hours of the day and evening, as I heard them throughout the evening. I am a pretty light sleeper so I didn't sleep that well but my husband (who is a heaver sleeper) was just fine. I have stayed at a bed and breakfast in Texas where there was a train nearby and that train was incredibly loud. This train wasn't nearly as loud but do want to mention this for those that may find this to be a problem. Because of the train and the thin walls, I am a bit indifferent and not sure if I would stay here again. But to us, there does seem to be more pros than cons. Overall, I would still rate this hotel 4 stars.

The room was moderately comfortable and we appreciated having a laundry facility. On the downside, there were two washing machines but one wasn't working. Lastly the parking spots are too narrow.

As you go from the lobby to the hallway, you'll notice that they let some four year olds loose with paint brushes, thinking that maybe a few quarts of new paint means "remodel"... except no one told the painter about this invention called masking tape! The carpet was stained and worn. As we entered our room, there was stains on the floor. There's a jacuzzi tub in the main room. Weird. There was a bobby pin on the side of the tub, a prior guests key ring, the mirror was dirty, there was a bunch of hair on the carpet, a urine stain on the wall, the bathroom vanity light was crooked and tarnished, with mis-matched light bulbs. There was some broken plastic screwed to the shower wall where there used to be a soap and conditioner dispenser. The wood furniture was pretty chipped up with paint drips on several pieces. There was two holes in the ceiling, looked like bullet holes. There's a floor lamp in one corner, it doesn't have a light switch. There is a non working switch in the cord, but to turn the light off you have to unplug it. There were two can lights above the jacuzzi tub, one was burnt out. They had extra pillows in the closet, but there were no pillow cases on them. There was only one tiny waste paper basket for the entire room, so no trash can in the bathroom. There's a community center next door, and they were blasting DJ music until midnight. Kids from the community center were loitering outside in the parking lot yelling and making a bunch of noise. A walk around the outside of the building and there's broken rain gutters, dirty entry ways, and sticking doors. Upon showing the desk the hair ball we picked up off the floor which should have been vacuumed, and the key ring, told them about the bobby pin on the side of the tub, and showed them a photo of the urine stain, I was told there wasn't any other rooms to move us to because we have a dog. so I requested the room be re-cleaned before our second night stay. When we got back, the urine stain was still there, and so was the bobby pin. There comes a point where a hotel needs to be closed and remodeled top to bottom, or turned into a homeless shelter. This hotel is in that category.

Upon check in, we were told we had to provide a $150 CASH deposit to cover the cleaning fee which we would get back during check out after they examined our room. They did have a small plaque on the counter in the office that explained this extra charge but this was not shown through booking.com so it came as a surprise to me. So what do you do if you don't happened to have $150 in cash? You have to go to the walmart across the street and use the ATM. So be prepared to have that extra money if you plan on staying here. The receptionist who checked us in also informed us the check in/check out office is closed between 11pm and 7am. I immediately told her this was going to be a problem because we were planning on checking out around 5:15am in order to get to a hike in the north cascades early. She let us know that since the manager lives on site, she would leave a note explaining our situation and that our early check out wouldn't be an problem, we just had to ring the bell in the morning and the manager would be up to check us out. Fast forward to the following morning and I ring the bell at 515am to a groggy voice who had obviously been sleeping. I said, "room 113 checking out." She told me the lobby was closed until 7am. I explained the receptionist said she would leave a note explaining our early check out. The manager informed me no note was ever made and she had no idea and that I had to wait until 7am. I told her that wasn't possible since we were planning to leave right now, so reluctantly she told us to hang on so she could get up and dressed and come down to the lobby. After she unlocked the door she told us nobody left her a note, I apologized for the miscommunication but affirmed the receptionist from yesterday told us it wouldn't be an issue. The manager pulled up our room on the computer and then walked down with us to inspect it real quick to verify everything was clean. But what really rubbed me the wrong way was while walking back to the room, the manager remarked that if her receptionist had sent her a text detailing our situation about wanting to check out early, she would have refused to allow it. Our room was clean so I recieved my entire $150 back, I apologized again for the mix up and left. I cannot recommend staying here. Not only did they have an asinine $150 cash deposit you're forced to make as well as not being able to check out until 7am, the beds we slept on were very uncomfortable with my parents agreeing with me. I feel like there are plenty of travelers like myself who stop at Mount Vernon for a night and wake up early to drive to a hiking trail so if that applies to you or you're just an early bird who wants to check out early and get back on the road, avoid staying here.

He only had bites skin that was showing while sleeping aka not covered in Jammie's. We didn't stay anywhere before this hotel so we know it came from this hotel. They refused it. While the lobby itself is very nice and very inviting on the interior, the themselves are actually not that great. The last time I stayed there the room that I got actually ended up suffering from a water leak coming from the room above me on the second floor, but the damage was completely within my own room. There were also a number of things that really made me question several bits and . in room telephone had a broken receiver held together with a piece of white duct tape. The shower barely worked in terms of the showerhead. There were stains on the that almost somebody had attempted to floss between their legs with it. The small tiling in the little alcove, where the for the lack of a better term bathroom sink was located was very uneven, and actually kind of painful to walk bare feet. Also, the mattresses are very very hard. And if you're like me and you have back issues, they don't always help. There's also the fact that for my short stay, which was only three days the door of the hotel room would actually stick sometimes, and I literally would have to use my knee to open the door. Finally, there's the exterior color. The hotel in general is painted in this almost sickly color. Which almost seems to turn purple in direct sunlight. the staff that I've met times that I've been there were not bad people, and they were just simply doing their jobs. I tell you that visually the location isn't really the greatest. It also doesn't help that right next to them is an old restaurant building that appears to be constantly empty. I think in the times that I've been around here a business will pop up in the location last for a couple of months and then disappear. I don't know the reasoning behind but definitely something wrong with that particular area. all in all if you need a place for you know a one night stay something while there are better options. This one isn't terrible. It's not great but it's four walls in a roof and really that's all you really need especially if you're just gonna be using it as a quick stop over if you are going through a major road trip or something.

This hotel easily ranks among the worst "quick overnight stays" on a road trip I have had the misfortune to make. The property is tacky and visibly degenerating. It feels like an insult to the human spirit itself, graceless, cheap, and rectilinear, more "prison industrial complex" than "hospitality industry". When I checked in, I was given a room on the third floor along the exposed balcony, but it had not yet been turned over (cleaned and swept) for the next guest. I returned to the front desk by way of the single elevator and they gave me an available room which turned out to be a cubby hole tucked in between the entry bay and the main dormitory style construction...a small space which squeezed by as a "room". You could barely fit an adult between the bed and the chest of drawers. However, an electrical outlet was functioning and there was a TV. The lingering smell of perfumed bleach cleaner bodes badly for my endocrine system but is a noticeable effort to refresh rooms between guests. I tried to crack open the sliding window for fresh air but the roar of the just-adjacent highway was akin to an airport runway. The indoor air quality was off putting. Unfortunately the threadbare sheets and acrylic / rayon duvet cover didn't inspire my confidence either and I brought in my own sheet set in and re-made the bed to the best of my ability. The bathroom it must be said was well-cleaned. I cannot fault the management for doing their best to maintain a standard of sanitation and hygiene inside the old and unimaginative box-like construction. Breakfast was what I imagine is the caliber of a detention center in Mississippi, Texas, or Louisiana. Even the bananas and oranges were wilted and had seen better days.
