Location wise it's very convenient. Being right next to one of the main Thea affairs for traveling through the area. Unfortunately, though this is largely the only thing going for it. While the lobby itself is very nice and very inviting on the interior, the themselves are actually not that great. The last time I stayed there the room that I got actually ended up suffering from a water leak coming from the room above me on the second floor, but the damage was completely within my own room. There were also a number of things that really made me question several bits and . in room telephone had a broken receiver held together with a piece of white duct tape. The shower barely worked in terms of the showerhead. There were stains on the that almost somebody had attempted to floss between their legs with it. The small tiling in the little alcove, where the for the lack of a better term bathroom sink was located was very uneven, and actually kind of painful to walk bare feet. Also, the mattresses are very very hard. And if you're like me and you have back issues, they don't always help. There's also the fact that for my short stay, which was only three days the door of the hotel room would actually stick sometimes, and I literally would have to use my knee to open the door. Finally, there's the exterior color. The hotel in general is painted in this almost sickly color. Which almost seems to turn purple in direct sunlight. the staff that I've met times that I've been there were not bad people, and they were just simply doing their jobs. I tell you that visually the location isn't really the greatest. It also doesn't help that right next to them is an old restaurant building that appears to be constantly empty. I think in the times that I've been around here a business will pop up in the location last for a couple of months and then disappear. I don't know the reasoning behind but definitely something wrong with that particular area. all in all if you need a place for you know a one night stay something while there are better options. This one isn't terrible. It's not great but it's four walls in a roof and really that's all you really need especially if you're just gonna be using it as a quick stop over if you are going through a major road trip or something. read more

Manager Theresa Landvall gives very poor customer service. We were concerned after finding cockroaches in the cabinets and possible bedbugs. Would not refund our money. She was not concerned at all by our findings. She coldly referred me back to the paperwork we signed when booking the room. $156 after tax and pet fee on my service animal. You can hear EVERYTHING. People upstairs, dogs barking, cars from the intersection and freeway. They have weird windows above the doorway that lets in all of the light with no way to cover it. The peephole can be looked out of AND into. Gross and unsafe in my opinion. Bathroom had cat litter and food I had to clean up so my dog didn't eat it if I left him alone. Decorative pillow in the bed had a mysterious brown substance on it. There was spilled food, a dead snail and an ibuprofen my dog almost ate in between the beds and the bedside table. Pet friendly but no area to take them to the bathroom because they "aren't allowed" in the courtyard. So we had to venture into the field next door, which is full of freeway trash and homeless drug messes... Didn't check in until 8pm and left as quickly as I could the next day. When it's a last resort, it's fine. But definitely wouldn't choose to stay here again. Looks like a great place from the outside and the lobby. read more

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for one night in Washington. Upon arrival everything seemed to be in order until we checked in and was disrespected by the lady at the front desk and was told we looked 17 when in fact we are not and we're plenty old enough to be booking a hotel. She also scanned both of our identifications which was clearly not standard because the two couples checked in in-front of us did not both get scanned. As far as the room itself- just your typical dirty motel. Some stains on the bed and bedding and grimy walls. Honestly I didn't expect anything less. It is not surprising to me many of these reviews are about the service. Because it isn't up to a 5 star standard. My friend and I were disrespected by the desk attendant while checking in. The hotel also decided to leave a comment on her separate Yelp review saying that we never stayed there. Why would we take our time to write a review about a hotel we never stayed at? I certainly don't have time for that and I certainly don't appreciate the disrespect we've received by this hotel. I would love to see them write the same thing on this review instead of taking ownership for their poor and inadequate customer service. read more

If you want a grimy "blast from the past", then this is one of the choices for you. I couldn't stop washing my hands. I was trying to figure out why. Then I realized, I felt completely filthy the whole time we were there in that hotel room. They claim FREE WI-FI. This is a joke because the Wi-Fi is non-existent. I was embarrassed that I had reserved a room in this motel. I took my son there. We were celebrating his 25th birthday. All he really wanted to do for his birthday was to go crystal hunting so we found a place nearby. I reserved this room near where the crystal hunting place was. Neither of us is used to staying at this level of hotel/motel. The way I was trying to justify this place in my head was, it was built in the 70's. However, they haven't cleaned the place since it was built. Yes, there were clean towels, I think, though not sure because I wasn't touching them. There were supposedly clean sheets, however, the comforters didn't look, feel or smell like they'd been washed in ages. I am attaching pictures of the chairs in the room, they expected me to sit my butt in. I changed my mind about sitting in any of the chairs. You'll understand when you see the pics. We checked out, early the next morning. I slept for an hour or so and spent the rest of the night, sitting in my car, so I didn't bother my son, who was able to sleep but slept on top of the bed, as well, at least until his subconscious took over and he climbed in the bed. read more

Location has easy hwy access, but suffers from loud hwy and train noise all night long. The lobby is tastefully updated and staff are friendly, but guest room is severely outdated. It was clean, and the reclining chair was surprisingly comfortable, but don't expect extra towels, hair dryer, ironing board, or extra pillows/blankets. Popcorn ceiling has trapped cigarette smoke from the old days, making my eyes water. I would not stay here again. read more

You get what you pay for I suppose. Relatively inexpensive place to stay that's close to a lot of businesses and provides a place to sleep, which was really all we needed as this was a stopover. Is what you'd expect from a cheap motel: stains on the mattress, stains on the carpet (looked like blood but can't be sure), and the fridge had small dead bugs in it. What I didn't appreciate was the lack of customer service and just general disrespect. They have the person who booked the room scan their ID, which is understandable. However, the second my friend and I--who are 21 and 22-walked up to the counter, the lady was incredibly condescending telling us we had to be 21 to stay here. We both said yes and pulled out our IDs, which she made both of us scan even though only one of us booked it. She continued to be patronizing after both IDs were scanned, telling us we didn't look 21 (it's not a compliment to tell people they look 17, especially when we're paying for a room at your establishment). Awful service. The staff is extremely rude and condescending. They don't even try to implement any kind of customer service. Basically their attitude is "Ha, we got your money. Sucks to be you." The hot water works intermittently. It goes from scalding to ice cold. They may or may not service the room. If they don't (and they didn't service mine) they just shrug and go "oh well, mistakes happen." The door stuck whenever I shut it. I got it to work but I had to push hard on it. Fixtures in the bathroom were broken. Their so-called "continental" breakfast is watery day old scrambled eggs preserved in a crock pot and hockey puck style biscuits with bland gravy made from a package. Seriously, they could chisel "Cocusa" on the biscuits and sell them as paperweights . The entire building looks like it's falling apart. It seriously needs renovation. All of these problems left me a bad taste in my mouth and combined with their condescending tone, their sarcasm, their rude behavior, and their lack of hospitality, I cannot recommend their place. Seriously, what business tells any client, that they are not wanted in their facility? Their final words to me were "Fine, don't come back." We have a favorite room here that we get every time we stay here. We checked in the girl gave us our room keys and we went to our room and the keys don't work. She had 73 on the card. We thought she wrote it wrong. So my Husband went to check and the lady was rude. That's when she said our favorite room has a water issue and she gave us 73 which is right over the office. The room was old and creaky. Our favorite room has a kitchenette and its been remodeled. That's why we like it. You'd think they would have called or emailed us to let us know that our room was not available and did we want a different room. Unacceptable. We drove from Auburn up here and had we known we would've cancelled for a different weekend. Very disappointed. read more

My daughter and I stayed at the Cocusa Motel for the first time last night. It's conveniently-located right off the 5 freeway, and I liked our stay.The motel may not look like a palace on the outside, but they cover the basics pretty well. Rooms are outfitted w/all the usual hotel amenities, the breakfast options were pretty extensive, the front office lobby is well-appointed, and there is a lot of "little touches" done that make you realize that Staff is doing their best to make the guests happy. Five Stars! Is it a five star hotel? Absolutely not, but when you spend between $60/$80...who cares! I got a bed, a working tv, free WiFi, a clean toilet, sink and shower. Pictures on the wall and working A/C. They even have scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy in the morning. The only thing I wasn't expected were a few stains on the blanket covering the sheets. I wasn't sure if they were DNA sourced or food/drink sourced stains. Oh well, I was under the clean white sheets (they appeared and smelled clean). When I initially checked in it was around 8/9pm and the lady at the counter was juggling the phone and the people in line at the counter. She did a great job and was pleasantly helpful. As a professional driver she gave me the drivers rate - which was a very pleasant surprise. Anyways, if you want Paris Hilton accommodations then you're looking at the wrong reviews. But if you don't mind a seeing a one eyed, three legged, broken tailed dog named Lucky waited for his/her owner to check in to the hotel room then you've got the right spot at the right price. Yes, this place is right next to railroad tracks and the train does come through, but if that's going to bother you then you are not really sleepy or you just want something to bitch about. No bugs or critters were observed and I didn't see pimps, hookers, dope heads or strange individuals. This place checks out for me as a great bargain and when you lay down in bed and go into that deep sleep to dream and to finally wake up rested...your body could not care whether you woke up here or at the Westin Excelsior in Rome. *Just be patient with the Hot Water...it will come to you about as fast as your 99 year old grandmother. That's what first brought me in. They've since earned my loyalty (and then some). I've stayed here eight or nine times over the past 12 months. I'll spare you the "Line-Item" list and simply say I've noted a number of improvements over that period. Just as important, they haven't lost ground elsewhere as some businesses do. One by one, they've updated & renovated the rooms as well as dealing with long term maintenance. Not an unusual strategy to address a building as it ages, it's HOW they did it I found impressive. That's where their staff really shines. From Maria & Jan in housekeeping to Guy & Jeddy in Maintenance and Repair, everyone who works there is on the same page, they will do everything in their power to make your stay the best it can be. The front desk is handled by Nikki & Jessica, and let's be honest, working the front desk at a value priced motel isn't the easiest job out there. Still, they handle it like the rest of the staff, they're going to do everything they can to make your stay the best it can be. If you need an extra towel, or a light bulb, want to know where to get an auto part, or don't know the answer to an obscure trivia question, Nikki is particularly hard to stop short of a solution to whatever you're having an issue with. Whether or not it has to do with lodging, the Cocusa staff finds a way to help out. As I said, they've earned my loyalty. - Just realized I left out the key piece of the puzzle. All this happens because at the helm of daily operations is the General Manager, Therese, who makes it happen. From assembling the right team to establishing clear directives for them to follow, She's on top of it. If staff is uncertain, she coaches them through it. I was looking for a safe, clean, inexpensive place to stay for a few days. I found it at the Cocusa Motel. This is my second stay here. I was impressed the first stay; I'm more impressed this time. They've opened the breakfast area. The vending area and Ice Machine is now open as well. (Both Closed by Covid last visit.) I've been up and around a lot more this visit so I've met most of the staff, even the desk clerks working after the General Manager is gone for the day, and they all share the same approach: Underpromise & Overdeliver An example: I didn't realize it at the time, but in response to a remark I made at check-in about "showering being a hassle with one leg in a cast" staff changed my room to a ground-floor unit with a walk-in shower. They didn't say anything, they just saw a situation that could be improved and made it better. Don't you love it. On the place: Curb appeal: Well, From the outside, it looks SECURE. And it is. It feels different when you're inside than it looks from the parking lot. If you open the blinds it looks out on a nice courtyard. The rooms all have refrigerators and microwaves. The beds are comfortable, Wi-Fi is outstanding (this trip. They were upgrading last time I was here) and it is CLEAN. parts are still dated, I don't think they've remodeled all the rooms yet. It is the LEAST EXPENSIVE place around and I've stayed at some of the other places. It's not just that it's a better value, it's a better place - physically. Add to that a staff with a mission to do everything they can to make your stay the best you can be and for $65a night, this place is a winner! read more

Worth the $65 that I paid... I wouldn't have paid $100 The good... The lady at the front desk when I checked in was super friendly and helpful! The room was clean and cheap. The water pressure was good and plenty of hot water, but the shower head was only 5' high... kinda sucks when you are 6'2. Less good... The place is old... popcorn ceiling, cracked grout and a beat up recliner. There were a lot of motorcycles in the parking lot and loud bikes all night. In addition it is really close to the railroad tracks (train noise) and it is right on the main street. You can clearly hear the neighbors... btw props to the guy next door, an hour? DO NOT STAY HERE! The internet price is inflated. Walk-ins pay less, even though the website says "lowest price guaranteed." The door didn't shut correctly and the water in the shower just went freezing/scalding intermittently. Our room had a broken hook on the sink where a towel ring should be (I could see the towel ring in other bathrooms as I passed them). The shower had some weird glue-like substance on the walls where a shelf or something used to be. OUR ROOM WAS NOT CLEANED even though we were gone from 7am-11 pm and did NOT have the DND sign on the door. When we complained to the front desk staff, the man sitting in the lobby (who had been putting out the horrible "continental" breakfast the day before) was EXTREMELY rude. The owner/manager in the back room was slightly nicer. This motel might have been okay 20 years ago, but it has not been updated nor maintained since. read more

We checked in on a Sunday evening with a very nice customer service representative. He was very helpful with giving us directions to local attractions. My husband enjoyed the nice pool. The room, for the most part, was clean. The bathroom could use a little more attention,as far as cleanliness goes. Corners of tile floor were dirty and mildew was starting to accumulate on the wall by the shower. The entire place needs a facelift and more attention to housekeeping! The staff was very receptive to the constructive criticism we gave at checkout. We are confident they will attend to the issues we addressed. The seemed to genuinely care. We stayed here for a last minute trip since most of the nicer hotels in the area were booked up. As soon as my boyfriend and I got into the room, the toilet was not 100% clean, maybe 6/10 for the toilet's cleanliness, we had also found a random sock in the middle of the room (even in a quick clean for the room you would be able to spot something as obvious as that.) and as we got under the covers we noticed that the covers smelled like someone had drooled on them. Our friends in a separate room had said their room smelled of strong chemicals to the point where they had migraines almost all day. Definitely a hole of a place, do yourself a favor and book a better place ahead of time! read more

Spend a little extra money & get a clean room, really wasn't comfortable staying here. This place is really grubby, cigarette burns in the blankets, ripped sheets & towels, rooms smelled bad. For the cost of the room I didn't expect a 5 star motel however I did expect a clean, comfortable place to stay the night.
