Staff are nice , Pina is so good . But the taco size is now smaller , they use mini tortillas instead of normal size corn tortillas like they used to . This was my first time having birrieria and wow have I been missing out! I got the PDX Sampler which had 5 different items. A great deal to get to try so many different things. Everything was delicious - I especially loved the consome and the taco. The home made horchata was incredible! Best horchata I've ever had. Not too sweet, just the right amount of cinnamon. Stopped by in a group of three to get some items to go on a Friday around 12:30 PM. There weren't too many people in front of us waiting for food but because it seems like there was only one person working, service was quite slow. I tried the PDX SAMPLER. I loved the variety of the birria items. The flavor was great and I love how the consome was served in a little coffee cup. The items were quite heavy so the sampler ended up being more items than I could eat in one seating. I also ordered a HORCHATA which was delicious and help to cute down on some of the oiliness from the food. All in all, a great option for birria around the area. read more

We got breakfast burritos to try out and they were actually tasty and pretty affordable! Jamaica was good too, just a bit tarte. Breakfast burritos $7/$8 depending on meat, I got a chorizo burrito and they have hashbrowns and eggs, cheese. I personally think they're missing sour cream or frijioles, and a good salsa verde, but that's my opinion. They only do red salsa here and I'm not a big fan. The service was friendly, and you can take your food to go or sit out on the benches outside since it's a food truck. Not worth the money at all. I paid $34 for 6 quesatacos, 2 drinks, and a small cup of consome. I didn't receive the consome. The tacos were tiny and flabby and sopping wet. I had to ask for the drinks after I received the tacos because whoever was working there forgot them too. Finally got to try this place. It's pretty legit. Traffic on 217 sucks so we were way late in picking up our order. I appreciate they took it over the phone. I hate it when places don't do that. I'm good for it. Come on. So let me take you on a journey of what we got and how it lasted the trip. Vampiro. So delicious however I can tell there are combos of textures that are just better fresh. A lot of the uniqueness gets lost if it's sitting. Not recommended if you aren't eating right away. The crispy. This held up better than I thought. Still delicious and crispy after sitting. Up there with one of the best crispy tacos. Spider taco. This was my favorite and I think if withstood the long wait the best. I first learned of the wonderful magical thing that is Birria a few years back. To find this food cart named after this magical food - the ULTIMATE find. And it lived up to the hype. It's worth noting, it's a food truck in a Chevron parking lot. But they did a great job with the tables and mobile fire heaters! We ordered the PDX Sampler and an extra quesotaco (so we could each have one). The flavoring on the birria and consome was very well done. Not spicy, yet rich in layers of flavor. Cheese was liberally used, so I wouldn't recommend if dairy isn't your friend! But overall, it was a very tasty experience - highly recommend this food truck adventure! read more

We really enjoyed heading to the Eastside to go here, got thrilled when they opened up on Hawthorn and mind blown excited when they opened on the Westside Birria is the French Dip of Mexican food and I am a total fan. I have had Birria at multiple places so far and by far I think this place has the best variety and version of it. The broth is hands down rich and flavorful and just deserves repeated dipping over and over and over and over until it is gone. I love the variety of Birria items they have from tacos, burritos, quesadillas, keto tacos plate or bowl options to pick from to keep things different but still get your Birria fill. I still have not tried the ramen which for sure I will next visit which should be soon. The staff is really friendly and the food is always quick. The prices are decent and the quality is top of the house. We have a lot of Mexican food carts in Portland but Birria has been a next level event in eating for me. After seeing rave reviews on Yelp, we decided it's time for us to pay a visit since we are a big Birria fans. We have been sampling delicious tacos in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area for years, so we came with high expectations! The taco truck was in a Chevron lot, and was super visible with bright red exterior decoration and lights. We saw a covered sitting area with two heaters and decided to dine in since Birria tacos don't travel well. The line was understandably long, and we waited patiently to place our order. When we headed to the covered area, we found out both heaters had just ran out of propane, and everyone was huddling with beach towels or whatever they could find for warmth, especially for their little kiddos. We asked if they could restart the heaters but no action was taken while we were there because they said they were out of propane. (They were right next to more propane at Chevron, but ok) The wait time was decent, but it felt like forever in the bitter cold. Thankfully the food was ready just when my toes went numb, so we decided to finish it quickly that we can wrap it up. The food was decent. Everything was quite rich and loaded with spices. My horchata was creamy, it was delicious but I couldn't finish it. The Birria PDX sampler came with four different styles of tacos in almost anyway that you can imagine with Birria on/in them. Some crunchy, some soft, some loaded with cheese, but all are a juicy and yummy messy. As a Birria lover, I always bring some wet napkins to keep things clean, and I'd recommend you to do the same~ Overall, we liked their food. However, taking everything in consideration, we both agree we still prefer our go to taco spots because we felt more welcomed and the food suits our palates better. Today I stopped by again and ordered a Quesataco and another Vampiro. The Quesataco was very good, but again the Vampiro was amazing! Last time I took my order home and the Vampiro got a bit soggy (still flavorsome). I still didn't want to eat in the gas station parking lot, so this time I took my order over to the beer court at the BG Food Cartel. It was a win/win. I got a Barley Brown IPA and the tortilla on the Vampiro was still crispy! It comes with a relish of fresh cilantro and onions, some radish slices and fresh lime segments to squeeze. The red sauce is some of the best around, a great flavor and just the right amount of heat. This place is bomb.com. EVERY TIME. I get the queso birria most of the time but yesterday I had the birria fries and I'm converted. Sooo good. You can't go wrong with anything from here but I suggest getting a side of consume. Delicious! We were lucky to arrive with no lines and no rush, so the servers spoked to us about each of the items - both food and drink related. Clearly, we arrived at the right time, since right after we received our food, there were at least 15 groups in line. All I can say is... WOW. What an interesting twist on Mexican street food! Been wanting to try here for so long! We ordered a couple of agua frescas (pineapple and passionfruit) and PDX Sampler plate. The drinks were quite flavorful and fresh! I love the ring of Tajin on the rim, such a nice flavor to add to the sweetness of the fruits. For the PDX Sampler, all the tacos were delicious and the consommé was very tasty and savory. Love their consistency among their different trucks. This is a super convenient location with plenty of parking. Just walk up, order, pay and they hand you a buzzer. I think the sampler is the best deal, one each of their popular items with a cup of broth. So good! Literally one of the best places to get Birrieria tacos. I love the vampiro ones because they get a tostada and add a layer of cheese before putting on the Birrieria fixings. It's nice and crispy so once you get that fresh lime squeezed on it and nice hot consome you can consume it in the best messy fashion. There's a huge amount of satisfaction when eating these tacos wethers it's in a parking lot or in your car they just do it right. The service is always great and speedy which is why you often see people by the giant red trucks. It's one of the most iconic ones all over Portland and I remember finding them during the pandemic on TikTok and instagram. This bright red food truck serving every style of birria is popping up everywhere! No longer does one have to drive way out to SE Division when craving this fried taco and rich consume style of Mexican food. Located right on SW Canyon Road in the Chevron parking lot in front of Fred Meyers, they set up a covered tent with picnic tables and two fire pit s so you can eat your food there while it's hot. Since most every item in the menu is deep fried, eating it fresh is definitely the way to go as it doesn't travel or heat up well. The rich consume loaded with meat is the draw here whether you are dipping a fried taco or pouring it over a quesabirria (deep fried quesadilla). If you never had this style of Mexican food, I recommend the sampler platter which offers four different items with a cup of consume. My taco preference is definitely traditional, meaning a street taco of carnitas on a soft homemade corn tortilla simply topped with chopped red onion, cilantro and fresh lime. The offerings here are on the oppose end of the spectrum! Everything is deep fried and most everything includes cheese and the rich consume. Still, every once in awhile the red food truck catches my eye and lures me in. I now pass on the fried items because after a few bites, it's too much for me. So I order the torte, a huge sandwich piled with meat. Definitely enough to eat half and save half for another meal. Now I know that I'm the odd gal out on this whole birria trend so I am not going to knock stars because of my personal tastebuds. We were looking for a new restaurant or food cart for lunch, when we were about to make a U-turn, we decided to get food here, when we saw people getting inline. I ordered a regular taco (the photo is red tortilla), and hubby ordered Chile Relleno (sp?) Burrito, and Pineapple Specialty drink. My taco, the first bite was spicy, but I got used to the taste after that. I thought it was good. The taco sauce (if eaten by hand), keeps getting inside my nails, I'm glad I have a fork & knife with us in our car - I ended up forking my taco, when it could have enjoyed best using your fingers! The burrito was so large & heavy, that he didn't think he would be able to eat it all, but it must have been good, he finished the whole thing. He also weighed 3 lbs. afterwards. The drink: was flavorful, & tasty. BUT what was that unusual coating the rim of the glass, kinda like a salt around a margarita. Every time, hubby touches the drink, it gets 'bloody' red messy on his finger, and he keeps wiping it off. It has a tamarind taste to it. The messy finger, got so annoying, I finally wrap the glass with a napkin. (I didn't care for that one bit), and our drink was about $5. We have been wanting to try the birria here for so long and we finally managed to get there! Holy moly. I would say overall the Mexican food in the Portland area is just average, but they really do it right here. The birria is tasty and not incredibly greasy. The aguas frescas they serve are so pretty to look at but also have incredible flavor. My partner and I ordered the PDX sampler to share which comes with a mulita, a birria taco, a quesabirria taco, a vampiro and a small consomé. We added another 8 oz consomé and a spider taco. While everything was delicious, the vampiro really stole the show for me. It's a crispy tostada with melty cheese and tender birria on top. The combination of the crisp of the tostada and the melt in your mouth birria was perfectly contrasting. The consomé lacked a little salt for my taste, but all of the menu items that had cheese provided the perfect salty accompaniment. We also ordered the piña agua fresca and the horchata. We stopped by on a super rainy Saturday and this food truck was hoppin! Always a good sign! It's parked at a gas station, but there's a covered seating area with a big fire to keep you warm. Everything sounds so good, but they have a sampler platter so you don't have to choose! I went with that without hesitation. Everything had a similar flavor with very slight differences and when dipped in the consome, they were all perfection. The Vampiro was my favorite, I loved the crunch and the crispy cheese. The sampler also comes with lime wedges and some pickled red onions, with added some much needed acid to cut through the richness. It was all sooo good. My husband and daughter both got burritos and they devoured them. My daughter even saved the last little bit of hers for later, she refused to let it go to waste. This place is a mess. A hot, tasty mess! As many of us have across the Portland area, the last few years I've been collecting Birria favorites. I have a favorite overall...I have a favorite for super cheesy and tons of meat...I now have a favorite broth! Hands down...best broth in town! Seriously, I might swing by here just to buy a cup of broth. Intensely rich and beefy with a squeeze of lime...oh Heaven! The most brilliant thing on the menu has to be the Birria Ramen...I don't generally do fusion...because neither one of them are executed well...but if you're going to take a standard cup o' noodles and rehydrate with the best broth in Portland...then I'm down to give it a whirl. But then you go and use Tapatio branded Noodles...oh hells to the yes! I'll be honest, the noodles get lost in copious amounts of shredded beef but this was one of the best things I've eaten this week...especially on a cold rainy night! The rest of the menu is good. A great jumping off place for all things Birria but it might be a little too eager as everything was kind of wet (hence, this place is a mess). I feel like other places might allow their meat to drain in a strainer before attempting to build tacos with the meat. IDK...I've never made birria...I'm leaving that up to the experts...but everything was wetter. It doesn't appear they dip the tortillas in the broth and sear before making the tacos either which is standard across most Birria joints...but I also liked the crispy charred exterior to the tacos because honestly, it offset the wet, juicy interiors fairly well. Likewise, I feel the Vampiro is so favorably reviewed because being a crispy fried shell also counters the moisture content. Overall, this place is a solid 3.5 stars...utilizing that broth though...that gives them the 4th star. I will definitely be visiting again for ramen and a few other bits.
