They offered a separate room for my friend to get ready before she walked in the main hall. The bathrooms were small but clean and had the necessary accessories. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. She was able to get the details of her event the way she wanted. You have to show your vaccination info to get inside. The hall also provided the food and open bar service that was decent. There was very limited parking but plenty of places in the area for street parking. There was an upstairs and downstairs and both rooms had events. However, you didn't hear music from the other rooms or downstairs. I did glimpse in the other rooms and they were also spacious and nicely decorated. The party in itself was amazing with my friends beautiful decor. I would recommend this place for an event.

The juice seemed to be 80% water mixed with 20% juice & the alcohol as well. Ridiculous... Now on to the service, towards the end of the night, a female came to our table and rudely stated "You need to leave now" as we were in the middle of a conversation. I understand that it was time for everyone to begin to leave the venue however there were a million other ways in which she could have asked everyone to begin to exit the venue politely. Another thing, we could barely enjoy the party due to the paper thin walls between the salon we were in and the one next door. We could clearly hear their music and loud base which greatly interrupted our party. I can continue to elaborate on all of the reasons which you SHOULD NOT book this place but I will leave it here. ONE MORE THING, it is on a very busy avenue & parking is only provided to the first 40 guests, all others have to struggle to find street parking. Do your research and search for a better location!

We were told our vendors can come at 5 the earliest to set up because there was an event prior to hours. My decor team and DJ arrived at 5 in the pouring rain only to come to locked doors and no lights on being denied entry. When reached out to Lisa to ask can my team and dj in, we were told to stand in the rain until 6pm. When asked can we at least put stuff in the lobby so stuff would not get wet we were still told no. After asking over and over finally close to 6 pm the dj n vendor were allowed to placed their products and equipment and the bottom of the steps. Smh. Now when reaching the venue after 6 to begin set up nothing was prepared just chairs and tables. No chafer sets to put food out nothing. I will not recommend this venue to a soul. Lisa in my opinion speaks stern and very rude. Reaching out to her is difficult because you receive responses later. New management would not be a bad idea. The only nice staff in the establishment was the security team.

We also coordinate corporate events regularly, and based on this experience there is little to no chance we would book there again. Should've gone with my first instinct and booked Scavello's On The Island instead. Save yourself the frustration and book there.

The spread was insane from a caviar station, a cold salad and cold fish buffet station, and an entire hot food area complete with chicken fingers and beer battered french fries to stewed oxtails and braised beef cows feet! The chuppah area they have is not that big and quite plain in comparison to the rest of the hall. The food presentation during the dinner reception again was impressive but they had poor timing between courses. As we were just sitting down to the first course, they started clearing for the next course. With some protest, they brought back the sushi and salads on smaller platters. The cooked fish course was cooked nicely and delicious, the multiple courses were insane and again delicious. When I first booked, Elite Palace was pretty new so I felt that they had alot more time and were more attentive. As the year went on, they got more and more busy and it was harder to get in touch with the banquet manager, Igor. I always felt that my meetings were rushed and when I asked questions about the big day, they were either dismissed or I was told that we would talk about it closer to my wedding day. Therefore, I was a bit apprehensive for a couple of months about how it would turn out and I questioned whether I had booked at the right place. About a month from my wedding day, I finally got on their radar and they started taking my questions seriously since the day was getting nearer. From then on, it got much better. The tasting was great and Igor made sure that we were taken care of even though he had another event going on that night. We were able to have a rehearsal the day before the wedding with my officiant and entire bridal party, which helped alot for the big day. I have heard from my guests that the food was delicious and one of my favorite aspects was the cake. I showed a design of the cake I wanted to Igor and in the end, it came out better than I had even hoped for. My maitre de and bridal attendant were amazing. They told us what to do and where to go at the right times. My husband and I would have definitely not known what to do without them. The only major hiccup I had was with liability insurance. Elite Palace requires all of your major vendors to have an ACCORD liability insurance and to place it on file with them. Two weeks before my wedding, Igor reminded me I had to get this and it sent me scrambling to all my vendors. Some of the vendors didn't know what it was and that was a headache but in the end everything came through. Overall, the people at Elite Palace are experts in holding weddings and I would definitely recommend having your wedding here.

When we were looking for a caterer for our wedding in the Prospect Park Picnic House, they told us we had to use one from their list of approved caterers. We spoke to ALL of them. We ended up going with Judy Marlow and her crew at Simply Divine and they were all amazing! She recognizes great people and keeps them on her crew. Andi our event manager was on point, responsive, and wonderful!! Our chefs, bartenders, and servers knew their business and even their sanitation staff were super friendly and happy for us. (We had to run by their station a few times in the evening, to make it to the basement and they were all smiles with us!) Our top 3 reasons we went with Simply Divine (because, reality): -Price. Who are we kidding. Weddings are crazy expensive but while Simply Divine was on the higher end of the spectrum, after the initial round of queries, Judith was willing to work with us on editing the menu and to help us make the choices which helped us get to a common ground. -Plating. At the price points wedding food costs, the food is usually decent but her kitchen has delicious food and her plating is really gorgeous and different and I WANTED them so much for our wedding. -She hires nice and competent people. All the kitchen crew we interacted with during our tasting were friendly and genuinely seemed happy to see us (every other tasting we did, we maybe got to meet 1 or 2 people who barely made eye contact with us and scurried away asap to leave us with the pitch person). There is just no substitute for nice people who get the job done on the big day. Your wedding day is ridiculously stressful in ways you'd never imagine. Having everyone there on your team, trying to help you have the best day ever, and who you feel are also totally happy for stranger you and your new spouse, that is priceless. I think the only downside I experienced, which is no fault of Simply Divine but I think is something some future brides might want to know, is specific to our venue, The Picnic House combined with how Judy runs the ship. When doing a max capacity, sit down dinner in the space, they need the stage/fireplace area for kitchen set up. Throughout the entire planning process, I had imagined that the kitchen would be set up on the opposite wall (between the pillars) and that we'd have that area for the sweetheart table and later evening events. When it came down to the actual logistics planning a few weeks before the wedding, what really needed to happen became clear. I expressed my disappointment and while Judy tried to think of other ways, she explained it just wasn't possible with our size party+ dance floor. I believe with her experience she knows it would have been intolerably cramped (it was already cramped enough how it worked out because we had so many people- so also, not her fault!) if I had forced the issue. That being said, looking at my pictures with the opposite end of the Picnic House being the focal point, I am disappointed with the background of every picture on that least architecturally interesting wall at the venue (which is 70% of my reception pictures, including pictures of the cake and cake cutting) and wish I had had enough time and forewarning to make or get myself together enough to create a new rental of a backdrop or something of visual interest that wasn't a brick wall or a seam in the plaster. Even now, months after the wedding, as we go through these photos, this is the only regret/wish I had done it differently feeling I have about our wedding.

If you are dismayed at the thought of dealing with the big kosher caterers, Judy will seem like a breath of fresh air. She runs a small shop, so your party is never treated like a forgotten cog in a giant chopped-liver factory. And your menu will not feel like something your guests have eaten a million times before. Simply Divine's food is creative, multicultural, beautifully presented, and across-the-board delicious. Working within the confines of kashrut, she comes up with menus that are modern but accessible. Judy's got tons of experience, and I always felt confident that she could handle anything. (A cocktail hour on a strange roof was no problem; a major food allergy was taken seriously; oddball props were handled with aplomb.) She's unpretentious and easy to talk to, and her staff is stellar. Simply Divine is not cheap, but I found the price to be competitive with the big boys, and a better value for the quality.

What worked well: communication leading up to the event was responsive and thorough, they were flexible in customizing the menu to fit diverse dietary needs, and the kids' food was well made. What didn't: two vegetarian adult dishes never showed up, and a third (chana masala) arrived with no heating tray, so it was cold by the time we served it. They offered a refund for this but have since gone silent despite multiple follow-ups. The food that did arrive was also below par -- the tandoori meats were drowning in an overly acidic gravy, we got tofu instead of the paneer we ordered (and it was tough), and the dosa bites were overcooked and bitter. On delivery day, we were initially told the food would arrive almost an hour later than agreed; it only showed up on time after we asked for a live location tracker (there was a parade causing detours that day, so this delay may not be entirely on them). Overall, despite a promising start, the actual delivery day left a lot to be desired -- missing dishes, inconsistent food quality, and an unresolved refund made the whole experience feel underwhelming for what we paid.
