So not only did the staff have to worry about bringing the food out, they had to ensure that each guest had a 4 oz. pour of the beer that was specially brewed to accompany the course. I can't imagine the chaos in the kitchen, but out front everything went flawlessly and my guests had a GREAT time. No detail was over looked. Lisa did a great job coordinating everyone and making sure everything was set up correctly. What I really liked most about JoAnne and Lisa (besides their professionalism) was their enthusiasm. Their staff was also very professional and I was pleasantly surprised by their attentiveness. They were nice enough to bring some drinks and appetizers outside while we were getting our pictures taken so we wouldn't miss out) I could not have asked for things to have gone any better. Both my husband and I highly recommend Della Terra Catering. EDIT: I don't know why my review (along with many other positive reviews) ended up in the filter, but I assure you I am REAL. My email is aceanalyst@aol.com if you would like more detail about my Della Terra experience.

I don't know who designed the cocktail lounge and ballroom at Temple Israel, but WOW! The rooms…read moreare amazing. The mixture of old world fixtures with sleek modern lines was pure elegance. It's simply the best space I've seen for a wedding. The food, though, doesn't quite live up to its surroundings. The smorgasbord was a little uneven, but there were so many choices (this was a high end wedding) I easily found a few items that pulled me back in for seconds. The main dinner started strong. The grouper cake (the kosher version of crab cakes) was quite good. It was paired with an elegant and delicious salad. It went slowly downhill from there. Eat subsequent course dropped in quality. By the time dessert rolled around, there wasn't much point to it. Granted, the white chocolate dome was beautiful to behold. But, it was all flash and no taste. I suppose some allowances must be made for the lack of dairy in all the desserts. But, come on people, it's not that hard to make a superior non-dairy vanilla ice cream. I do it all the time. (Honestly, I do.) First tip: use real vanilla. This is a high end affair, you know. The only reason to cut corners on the dessert is because you assume the guests are too wasted from 4 hours of open bar to notice. And, we have to talk about that pathetic wedding cake. First of all, it was ugly. I understood the modern design and all, but modern doesn't have to be quite so severe. I hate to tell you, but it tasted worse than it looked. One bite and I cast that cake aside with the pretty but flavorless white chocolate dome and the even blander bread pudding. So, why have I given the 3 stars considering how they botched my most favorite part of the meal? Because the ballroom and cocktail lounge are stunning. You'd be hard pressed to find a more elegant space for an event. Just make sure you get the the best booze package you can (they do make amazing martinis). You'll need it compensate for the blah desserts.

Pros: We chose Natasha for a small family party to celebrate our wedding this spring. We went with…read moreher mainly because she was the first/only chef to begin our conversation by asking us what WE had in mind and letting that be the foundation for building the menu. She seemed eager to help us realize our vision rather than impose someone else's onto us. There are also four other people on the IBN team: the sous chef, whose name I forget; the bartender, for whom the same is true (maybe Aaron or Erin), and two servers: Mason and Spencer. These folks did an AMAZING job and we were both so grateful for their kindness and professionalism on the day of the event. Finally, I liked what I ate! I was happy with my day-of meal. Cons: Natasha was incredibly rude to both me and my husband in the weeks leading up to the post-wedding party. I had only spoken to her twice before the party: once when I hired her and again in February. She'd said in February that we could have a third and final call two weeks before the event. When I emailed her three weeks before the event to schedule this final call, she sounded irritated and said we'd spoken "a few days ago" (we had not; I even asked some relatives in case someone else had, but no) and she wanted to "stick to the plan" of having a call at a date a time to which we had not agreed--- only *five* days before the party. My husband reminded her that she'd said we could talk two weeks before and she eventually, reluctantly scheduled a call with us. When we call at the date and time she told us to, she does not pick up; instead, she texts us that she's in the middle of an event. All of these things are perfectly normal, human mistakes. We all get clients confused and talk to one as though they are another (like the "a few days ago" thing). We all overbook ourselves every once in a while and are unavailable after telling someone we would be. A professional would have simply apologized; instead, after I used *one sentence* of an email to express my disappointment about the missed call--- because my husband had taken off work to be available for it, so lost money for no reason--she used this as an excuse to threaten not to show up. Said she needed us to "confirm" in light of my "tone." In light of this, I decided not to speak to this person anymore unless absolutely necessary (i.e. at the party, for the sake of our guests). My husband took over talking to her, at which point we had a fun little role-reversal in which he was now the one reporting to me on a regular basis how rude Natasha was being to him. So at least I know it wasn't personal! Conclusion: If you just need to place a big food order and don't need to talk to the chef again after that, you can go with IBN and you'll probably be fine. If, however, you are planning an event of great importance to you--or just don't want to risk being treated like a burden for wanting to speak more than once with someone you're employing-- maybe look elsewhere.
