We ordered delivery for two pizzas (4 flavors: prosciutto fig, Bulgogi, Hawaiian and Quattro Formaggi) and 20 chicken wings (Parmesan garlic) on a Saturday evening, and it took around 75 minutes for the food to arrive. I understand that it takes time to make and deliver the pizzas especially during the rush hour on a weekend but the wait time was still slightly longer than expected. The food was also cold (not even lukewarm) when they arrived. (Our location was only 10 min away!) The flavors were slightly lacking because the toppings were quite sparse. From my photos, the distribution of the toppings look pretty decent but, mind you, the pizza was huge (18"), and so the space between each piece of topping was actually wider than it looked in the photos! Nice place in Coquitlam for Neapolitan Pizza. Tried a couple of their pizzas and was generally quite satisfied. The price is decent and there's usually some specials online. Ordering on the App/web is pretty smooth and easy. You can also buy pizza by the slices in store. The pizza and ingredients were fresh. It wasn't overly salty or greasy and the pizza was cooked well without being overly burnt / charred. However, I wished they were more generous with the basil on the pizza (if you look at my picture you can see the basil is tiny). The caprese is also a bit salty because of the capers but I just picked those off. Also, because of how thin the crust is, I think it's better to eat it fresh because if you get a pizza with lots of toppings, it can get soggy fast. read more

This was some really good pizza and a place I wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Their online system is really easy to order from and they even text you when your pizza is ready. I got their Bulgogi Pizza (Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Fior di Latte, Grana Padano, Mushrooms, Red Onions, Chilli Flex, Rib-eye Beef) and was impressed by the beef - it was high quality, fatty, and delicious, with the pizza having a great flavor and a slight kick of spice. I also found their pizza to be slightly bigger than their competitors (their medium is 14', whereas I've found other places to be between 12'-13' for a medium). This is an update to my previous review. Last time had the take out which made the pizza all gamey and chewy, this time opted the dine in experience. Had the 2 pizzas and beer for 9.99$ special. Which is alright-price-wise. Got the Hawaiian and Chicken Pesto. (What's with the Hawaiian streak?). Let me just say this, it is much better to have the pizza hot out of the oven than to eat it later. Fantastic thin crust. Since the last review, they have reduced the crust and added more fillings which in all honesty made a better tasting pizza. They may have upped the price also, but I think people rather have a greater tasting pizza than a merely a value proposition. So yes, the pizza is awesome when hot. Dine in is preferred over take out. (Unless you have a clay oven where you can reheat them....) read more

We've ordered twice from La Ruota and both times all pizzas were cold. They also charged me $6 for delivery when I live 4 kms away!!! There are better pizza places in Coquitlam who deliver for free. La Routa is my neighbourhood pizza spot! It's in a great location right by coquitlam centre. Service can be really great sometimes and just okay other times (I've gone in and gotten fully Ignored for a few minutes). The pizza is absolutely delicious and usually very fresh! Prices are decent too. Make sure to get a side of the garlic Parmesan dip for your pizza crust dipping needs :) They also serve cans of beer to go (with some wonderful local brews like yellowdog). read more

Ok so came here on a recommendation on crazy shopping Boxing Day! I was in the area & craving pizza so why not! I was hoping to park, pay & dash just outside La Ruota Pizzeria but there's no parking available directly outside. Park on Glen Dr then walk around the corner onto The High St to get here. Immidiately impressed with the Neopolitan sign on the wall - normally translates to high end quality pizza! I ordered a 14" inch Calabria, 25 minutes earlier & it was ready on time. The dough, thin crust is very tasty & easy to chew. Pizza consists of sausage, Mozzarella, Grana Padano & cappicola & hot Soppresta. I did not find it to be overly hot. Looking forward to trying their other pizzas when I'm in the neighbourhood again. Whenever I get asked what I want for a quick dinner, I always shout "LA ROUTA"! I'm addicted. This isn't like your local Domino's. They have the most delicious Neapolitan pizza. Yah, it's not the Neapolitan pizza you get in Italian restaurants and in Italy but super tasty. They use high quality ingredients from Italy and BC, and you can really taste it in their pizza. They offer their pizzas in 2 different sizes: 14 inch and 18 inch. You can order one of their specialty pizzas (great meat and veggie options), create your own pizza or my favourite: pick any 8 slices on the warmer for $20. I love how at La Ruota, they don't load their pizza up with too much tomato sauce and cheese. They really make sure to even everything out with the other ingredients to ensure your bite is perfectly even. Also their crust is to die for. I seriously ask my boyfriend to give me his pizza crust. It's not the cheapest pizza so you expect a lot from it. Ordered cauliflower pizza with their 3 standard cheese, mushrooms, dill, and grilled chicken with Alfredo sauce and truffle oil. I also got lemon pepper wings. 1) cauliflower does not Taste like cauliflower and you might like that but for someone getting "low carb" option it might be a scary thing for people who are on low carb diet. 2) I did not taste the truffle at all. That was disappointing because truffle oil is usually a finishing ingredient and you still couldn't taste it. 3) 10" Pizza (make your own kind) for about $23 was not worth it at all. The drive to poco is a trip! 4) wings did not taste like lemon pepper at all! It was mind blowing. Not crunchy. It's just not fresh period. I am however impressed with their staff. These guys are slaved to the T and you can tell by the chaos in the kitchen. They could use some organizing skill though. 1 could be staying by the cashier till completely and 1 at front dealing with pick up and 1 up front dealing with walk-ins. And 1 dealing with phone calls coming in (it was busy AF). And the rest remains in the kitchen and process those orders like the champ they are. The employees were apologetic to walk ins getting delayed service due to high demand orders. And some even came in rudely and so entitled even through this pandemic. Some people just don't know how to wait! So these 3 stars are not for their pizza but for their hardworking staffs who still manages to be pleasant with customers under pressure! I love good Pizza! My two favourites before moving to the tri-cities was Pizzeria Barbarella on East Broadway and Straight Outta Brooklyn Pizza, on Kingsway. Both had thin crust, the perfect balance of chewy and soft, and good topping combinations. We finally tried La Ruota out and picked up an 18" Capricciosa pizza for only 15$ lunchtime special - a great deal, with good quality ingredients, not salty or greasy. The crust was good, soft but chewy but hard to judge as we did take out. I'll have to try it straight from the oven next time. Look forward to trying it again! read more

Placed in a cute little street just a five minute away from the mall, La Ruota is a mediocre spot that should be lightly avoided unless absolutely famished. Although I must say, the pizza is never perfect, it has a specific charm in a way. That is what aritsanal pizza is, isn't it? Charming, never perfect. Their food is light on the stomach and rich in flavour. The complimentary garlic sauce could use a bit less salt though. I most recently recieved a burnt but edible pizza. Not the best lazy lounging with my friend lunch ever, but edible. Other than that, my experiences here have been decent so far. What can I say? It's decent. read more

We were sent the wrong pizza and we called right away and were told that they would send us the correct one. But it would be an hour and there was a system problem. We even offered to give them the pizza back and they said good. They took our name and phone number and our address and said it would be another hour. Over an hour and a half later, I called back and asked about where I Peter might be and they didn't listen and then asked us for all the information again but I told him I already had done this. And then they said they wouldn't be able to send us a new pizza because we ordered it through DoorDash )as I told her the first time). So in total, we waited an hour for a pizza that we didn't order and we can't eat because we don't like mushrooms and then we waited another hour and a half and still no dinner on Easter. This is a horrible way of doing business and I don't recommend anybody order from them. If you want to walk in and wait in line and get a piece of their pizza the taste is good. But there are many other places locally that are just as good that have decent service. Update: another 40 minutes after they told me they could do nothing about it. someone arrived with a cold version of the original pizza we ordered. As much as I appreciate them delivering it finally it was more than 2 1/2 hours after it was ordered and we had to make something else for dinner. I guess we are eating cold pizza tomorrow. When you pay close to $40 for a pizza I don't think it is too much to expect it delivered as ordered. read more

Update: after calling to complain they sent out another pizza very quickly (20 mins to my door). It was very hot, not squished and extremely delicious. I'm pleased with the second pizza but leaving this at 3 stars for the overall experience that includes the first one. With that said, when I called, the gentleman on the phone was very courteous and they did the right thing by getting me another one out to me fast with absolutely zero hassle. I'd totally be willing to order here again. Old review: Just ordered from these guys, they were 20 mins late and check out what showed up nice and cold! Some of my office mates had ordered pizza and I NEEDED to know where it was from. They gushed with cheese stained faces that this was the best pizza they'd had in forever. I was already sold and I hadn't even tried it for myself yet. The first time I ordered, it was with my pizza picky boyfriend (who lives in Chicago). This is my favourite pizza place. Great prices for super large sized pizza. They also have pizza by the slice, and have a large variety in toppings. This is authentic Italian pizza, so the crust is thin and crisp, and they use real mozzarella. So delicious! I order here for delivery as often as I can, get the XL pizza, so much bang for your buck as the pizza is huuuge. You'll have tons of leftovers and the pizza will taste just as good the next day reheated in the microwave. My favourite is the Hawaiian. I like extra ham. No words can describe the extent of our love for La Ruota. My boyfriend and I spent a couple years in New York and became too accustomed to affordable and delicious slices on nearly every corner (with giant portions to boot!), and we were certain that we were doomed to soggy and flavorless pizzas from box chains now that we were back. But we never looked back since discovering La Ruota. We love that rotating flavors are offered by the slice, and having tried several different kinds of pizzas here, we can honestly say that we've yet to come across something that's anything less than delicious. You can't really go wrong with any, but our favorites are pollo pesto, margherita(!!!), funghi, and pepperoni, the last of which is very crisp with just a hint of heat on good days. Great pizzas! Although a little more pricey but it's worth it. Delicious, lots of toppings, and fresh. More toppings and just the right amount of pizza base, compared to the out fast food pizza chains that has most pizza bass and some cheese with not very many toppings. Other (pizza chains = pizza with toppings sprinkled on top) and (La Ruota = pizza with toppings layered on top) they offer the option of dining there (only a couple sit outdoors so if the weather's bad, it's not an option), delivery, or pick up. I've done pick up and it was pretty fast. Lots of staff working at a small place because they have lots of orders. Most staffs are really friendly and polite too. I've recently done delivery too and it took a longer than I'd like (more than 30 minutes) and there was no way I could track where it is right now (or maybe I just don't know how to use the app?) it's still worth it but wish it could be faster too. Their chicken wings and drumsticks are tasty too. Both of the lemon flavour and the salt & pepper ones are a bit on the saltier side for me but perfect for my partner. They are good but personally I've had better chicken elsewhere. However, their pizzas are a must try! read more
