We were visiting from out of town and we had a very good experience at pizza king. The pizza was just your average pizza, but it was still good. The man that was working behind the counter was very nice and kind and provided great customer service. The vibe was a typical hole in the wall type of pizza place. They have very unique Indian flavor pizzas as well as traditional styles and flavors of pizza. We enjoyed it. Again, nothing special, just your average pizza, but still good. We are vegetarian and they have a large selection of vegetarian pizzas. They are open late hours as well, which was convenient. I recommend Pizza king for your pizza cravings and especially late night pizza cravings. read more

This place changed hands quite a while ago and prices have increased significantly . They don't have the pasta special anymore. Now the pasta dish only comes with garlic bread. What happened to the salad and pop? The lasagna is much smaller now but the garlic bread is about the same. I have to say their lasagna doesn't taste as good but the pizza is definitely improved from the old owners. read more

Had some of this pizza at a party. As I wasn't the one picking it up, I can't comment on the parking situation. The pizza came in plain cardboard boxes. Not a bad thing except they also didn't mark up which flavour was in which box. Hence the opening of all of the boxes. I'm not sure what flavour pizzas I ate as they weren't labeled. However, the ingredients were pretty toasty, and while the pizzas had some grease, it wasn't puddling at the bottom of the box. Take a look at the pictures and draw your own conclusion. Whoa! It's expensive (compared to, say, Little Caesar's), but boy is it well worth it! We had a supreme and a meat-lover's (I added 'chovies to mine) with wings and Caesar salads, and it was reasonable for 2 days' worth of food! Holy moley...now I'm not a pizza snob, I've been known to get a Megabite slice when it feels right, heck even a slice of Dominos if you're buying. Just to provide a little context with who's on the other side of the screen. Me and the Mrs are broke homebodies so when the weekend rolls around we both secretly just want to stay in and rock a pizza Friday w/ some junk food and the cats (even though all week we toy with the idea of adventuring out) Of the many many many different pizza places i've tried i'm going to lock this in as the absolute worst. The dough was half raw, the sauce may as well been pure NyQuil. It was so boring it put you right to sleep and I think they found the toppings on the sidewalk. You'd have better luck with a bagel bite you saw floating by in a rainstorm (trust me it happens) This is the very first review I've ever written but I couldn't in good conscience let the four stars stand. An injustice to the people. Those stars were well on their way to misleading another unknowing innocent civilian down this road of cardboard misery. I tried to bring the rest (basically all of it) outside to the compost just to get the whole ordeal behind us and we try to move on with whats left of our tarnished lives. The neighbourhood cats began to hiss, I could hear dogs barking for miles. The birds vanished. The most boring poltergeist that has haunted East Van. Come to think of it I never noticed a bee. I'm not saying for sure the disappearance of the honey bee's is caused entirely by this horribly bland disgrace to Sicily but it certainly hasn't helped. We can thank our lucky stars that Ted Kaczynski never got his hands on it, just one half crust in a mailbox could be enough to really shake up the system. I used to live up the block from this joint about twenty years ago. We soon found out that all the locals order take out from this place. The pizza tastes so good when it gets outta those turbo ovens. I think there is something different in the pizza sauce that the cooks use on the pizza and in the pasta sauces - no joke and get your mind outta the ghetto - this place has really good food for take out, and if you like crust on a pizza - this is as good as it gets. The specials are affordable - around seven bucks for a small three topping special to go. Our favourite is the family #2 special for all most twenty bucks. We sub the lasagna for the spaghetti and all ways get the pizza with ham, mushroom and green pepper. For this price - chicken, ribs, salad, and two pops - a deal. My wife and I live in Steveston now (about a 30 minute drive from this place), besides Steveston Pizza (in our backyard now), this is my favourite take out joint. We still pick up from "The King" to bring all the way home when we feel homesick for our favourite pizza and pastas. If you live in the area of this place and you don't try it out - you don't know what you are missing! read more

This may be extreme, but this place is almost worth moving back to Vancouver for. this is a local gem and I no longer live close by. I was not expecting much when I walked through the doors of Pizza King. Whats to expect given the shady looking building, next to an army surplus store? We ordered the pizza and pasta deal. $16 for a small pizza with 3 toppings, a pasta of our choice, a small salad, garlic bread and 2 cans of pop. A good deal for sure, but will it be tasty? As we were trying to make our decisions, we could see the workers at the back layout out pizzas fresh and layering one the toppings. A good sign for sure. The food was hit and miss. The pizza was absolutely amazing. It was a good balance between the toppings and the dough. I normally don't like crusts, but I really liked this one. It wasn't too doughy and had a good flavour to it. I would definitely go back for the pizza. The pasta? Not so much. We got the veggie lasagna and it was disappointing. The pasta sauce wasn't so much a sauce as it was water. The lasagna lacked cheese holding it together. Without those two ingredients, you're left with a water messy of noodles and miscellaneous veggies (there were undercooked carrots in there!!?!). The salad was nothing to talk about it. It served its purpose. The garlic bread was more bread than garlic and it was extremely hard - almost like it was day old. I will most definitely be back to satisfy my pizza cravings. I visited the pizza king for the last time in a long while as I have moved back to Ontario. Their pizza is fantastic but on my last visit last week i tried out their subs since I wasn't that hungry. I must say their pizza sub was fantastic just large enough to curb a nagging hunger but not as large as usual. I've been ordering from this place for years. Always been a happy customer. The staff is usually always nice & friendly. But I guess they got a new delivery guy because when I did place my order on the phone, I said I'd be paying mastercard very clearly. But when my food arrived he didn't have his machine/booklet thing for my card payment, and when I told the delivery guy I was paying card he actually whined & grunted and rolled his eyes back and stared at me in a very rude way. I ended up calling his boss, who was very nice, who just processed my payment over the phone. After that, I told the delivery guy it's been paid for and he responded by yelling "ARE YOU SURE? ARE YOU SURE?". I understand it was probably a communication problem between the girl who took my order and the delivery guy but the way he reacted towards me was very rude. Ordered a medium 3 topping pizza, wings and 2 cans of soda for delivery. The delivery came within 45 minutes as quoted and it was $18, so relatively cheap. The pizza had enough toppings and cheese and the crust was almost home baked, if a bit hard on the edges. All in all a decent pizza that hit the spot. read more

just had a HORRIBLE experience with this place 15 minutes ago don't get me wrong, i LOVE pizza king. quality is great for the price they give you. value is awesome. i love the choices and variety. THE CHINESE LADY WHO PICKS UP THE PHONE TO TAKE YOUR ORDER. unbelievable. she is a nice lady, until something wrong happens. i placed my order, the order usu sally doesn't take any longer than 40 mins. so i knew something was wrong. i tried fixing my cellphone for a good 15 minutes. turns out there was no service, something went wrong there. FINALLY got through, after taking my battery out. i called her, stating who i was and where the delivery was supposed to go to. and she FLIPPED out on me. NO understatement here. I BARELY got a word in at first, and she snapped at me. the convo went something like this me: "hey i called earlier and placed an order earlier on kingsway? my phone wasn't working" *cuts me off* lady: "yeah your phone didn't work? my driver was out there 15 mins outside in the cold for you, he called you almost ten times. i dont get what you want me to do? he was calling for you. it's not our fault." -- i was simply calling her, to let her her know what went wrong. and that it wasn't some childish prank phone call. so when i finally did get a couple of words in. i told her that IT WAS FINE. that i don't need them to come back cus i understood the trouble he went through. i was only calling to tell her that the phone wasnt working cause there was no reception something was going on with my phone a bad situation! Decided to give this place a try based on the reviews it had, didn't feel like cooking so we ordered a speciality pizza and a meat lasagna. Not sure why this place got the reviews it did. The pizza were lightly topped with a few bits of pepperoni and a terrible quality Italian sausage and some cheese. There were hardly any mushroom on it. Crust was alright but rest of the bottom crust of pizza was not well made. Not sure how to describe it but it just felt like we were eating a thick piece of cheaply made bread with toppings on it. Lasagna noodles were thrown together into a aluminum take out dish. Noodles were soggy and sauce tasted like it was from a can of spaghetti that you would buy at the grocery store...not impressed. Quality of ingredients were cheap however service was great, the woman was friendly but I've definitely experienced better.
