Great pupusas. Good portions for the price. And the owner of the restaurant is very friendly and fun to chat with. Im not well versed enough in Salvadoran food to distinguish what is authentic and what isn't. All I know is that I enjoyed my dining there. My favorite was the cheese and mushroom pupusas. The place is very casual and good for a chill time dining out.

My kids & I love La Santaneca! Super friendly, welcoming service! Unfussy, large dining areas. The pupusas and curdito are delectable! Steaming hot fresh pupusas, made to order.I always ask for the spicy salsa to supplement the milder thin tomatoey sauce (not sure what it's called). The spicy salsa is SPICY & fresh! My child always orders the fruit drink and carne asada, which comes with two fluffy fresh handmade tortillas. She raves about how delicious the rice is! The organic chicken soup, made on the weekends, is comfort food to the max. Michelada is served with special Guatemalan beer. Next time I'll take better photos!

Quality/Quantity - What a great discovery. If you are looking for FAST food, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a slow, really good made-to-order meal (see my picture of the front of the menu), then you are in the right place. The speed of the owner dictates the speed of service, if you know, you know. She is so sweet. Today we got the following: Pollo Empanizado $21.99 - Breaded Chicken. This was the only boneless chicken on the menu and my wife did not want to work for her meal, lol. And she did not realize it was deep fried. For me, that was part of the reason it tasted so good! Came with rice, salad, and two "tortillas." Two Pupusas - I got a steak one (Queso Con Carne Asada) and a zucchini one (Queso Con Calabaza). Both of which were good. This came with a bottomless amount of housemade slaw and salsa, see pictures. BUT the hot sauce was the real winner. It was so hot (And I like it hot, was this habanero). After a few bites, I had to dilute it with the salsa. The salsa was nothing special for me, very light in flavor. Atmosphere - Huge place, see pictures. Clean restrooms. Plenty of mall parking. Live music today. See picture. Service - Good; again, the owner is so sweet. Price - $33 + generous tip. You have to walk up to the counter to pay. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2015. Nice to have a good Salvadorian restaurant nearby.

In the parking lot from afar, you can read "Pupusaria", but the full sign is in a slant, away from the street. There's the door.

I have been eyeing this place for years! I just always forget when we are thinking of where to go eat! Not so today! We were in the area so dropped in for a small meal. We both ordered two pupusas each. Oh, lovely large pupusas! Mine were cheese/mushroom and pork/cheese/loroca (a flower found in El Salvador). Ray ordered shrimp and chicken. Although his were good..... mine were better! So tummy and with the syrup container of pupusa sauce delivered to our table (along with slaw we can not eat) we could put as much sauce in as we wanted! They've got so many choices of pupusas the rest of the menu went in noticed this trip. Although I did get pix of it and hope to try their dinners or breakfast some time soon. Tried their horchata. A bit different flavor I can't seem to put my finger on. They've got beers to the left of the payment counter. We were served by, what I suppose, the owner. Nice man. Explained the loroca to us. Ambiance is your typical tables in two large rooms that are painted lovely colors with tapestries hanging. No table cloths, more a tapateria than a cafe.

We were there early in the afternoon, and there were only a handful of people at the time. We ordered a few pupusas and a chicken sandwich, just to give them a try. I nearly fainted when I saw that each pupusa is almost 5 dollars! I get mad because Pupusas and Reno are three dollars!! I think that their tomato sauce lacks a lot of flavor, to make it authentically Salvadoran. I didn't feel the chicken sandwich was 100% what it should be. I don't think I ever remember seeing sandwiches with Romain lettuce, no water rest, zero escabeche, and no mayonnaise. I don't think I will be coming back.

I've only had a pupusa once before from a food truck and it was okay, no reason the revisit pupusas, I thought. My son hypes up this pupusa place which my wife and I decide to try out. These were really good...definitely better than my previous pupusa experience. We each got 2 pupusas, which were served with pickled cabbage and sauce (Chicken/Jalepeno, Beef/Cheese, Pork/Loroco). Chicken/Jalapeno was my favorite of the 3. I tried them on their own, and while tasty, the sauce and slaw made them even tastier....I wasn't a big fan of the sauce, but the tables have Tapatio on them, which worked better for my palette. The owner worked our table and was extremely friendly and gave us a breakdown of the pupusa experience. Would recommend and return.

Want to know one of Carson City's local hidden gems...then walk in to be greeted by La Santaneca's warm, friendly owner for wonderful service and delicious housemade Pupusas, Empanada and El Salvadorian food that will absolutely be daBOMB!! On several occasions we have ordered: Pupusas Locas (this is the super, super LARGE one) w/Cheese, beans, pork, zucchini and jalapeno and the Empanadas stuffed beyond with ground beef ~ both are absolutely deLISH!! don't forget the pickled slaw and in-house hot sauce to top these off ~ yummyyyy!! We also LOVE, love the smaller Pupusas: Cheese, Chicken & jalapenos; Cheese, Pork & Loroco; Cheese & Shrimp ~ yummyyy!! Shrimp Cocktail is INCREDIBLE, large enough for two and OMTasty!! Excellent deLISH food with great service and restaurant! Owner and staff are very friendly and make yummilicious recommendations so don't be afraid to explore the menu.

El Salvadoran pupusa (quesadilla) is the highlight here in Carson City. Take out or eat in. These pupusa are filled with cheese and almost anything else you can think of. We ordered a bunch of different fillings from beans to chicken and jalapeño. These pupusa are soft rather than crunchy. They give you crisp pickled cabbage and a light sauce to go with the pupusa. The only thing I wondered about was the minimal filling. Maybe that's just how they are made. The service was good and the restaurant has ample seating, pictures of El Salvador and other traditional art pieces. Try it if you're in Carson City!

I will start off to say the three stars l have giving them is due to their customer service only. Honestly the food was mid to low for El Salvadorian food all Salvadorian food in Los Angeles I have had was way more flavor and softer. Their customer service was wonderful I feel that their empanadas were overcooked and almost too hard for me to eat because I have veneers and the pupusas were to undercooked and missing some of the flavor all in all I would say that I wouldn't go back. I do like empanadas and I like El Salvadorian food but I wouldn't recommend this place if you if you enjoy the style of food and have had it in big cities. I wouldn't use their restrooms because they were really smelly and not very clean.

If you want to try authentic Salvadoran food this is the place to go. If you're in Reno it's definitely worth the drive. I have tried many items in the menu and it never disappoints!!! Service is always with a smile and they greet you like family. Spacious and lots of parking. As a Salvadoran native I want authentic food that reminds me of home. Love this place!!

Don't let the empty seats on the weekdays confuse you. This place has some of the best home made Salvadorian food I've ever had. I usually make the drive to Reno and hit up Delicious Caffe for papusas because I've been here to La Santaneca and their papusas I felt we're not as thick and cheesy as the ones from Delicious Caffe. I was thinking they must have a new chef because this evening them papusas were fire! Soooo good! I asked the lady to make me revueltas and add fresh chopped habanero. Revueltas come with refried beans, crushed pork rind (chicharrón) and cheese. Poor Ms. Dina (new chef) came out coughing to deliver them hot to my table, she waited to make sure that's what I wanted cause it made her eyes water and gave her the hiccups from the habanero heat. I thanked her for doing this for me because I know it's not an easy thing to handle this kind of spicy. My papusas were perfect! The cabbage curtido had just the right amount of tangy and crunch. I almost asked for a beer but nah, I had to have a big 1/2 liter Mexican Coke with this. It just hit the spot. I ordered their leche empanadas for dessert (fried banana dough pockets with creamy milk inside) these , they don't make at Delicious Caffe anymore so I was happy they had them here. Those were perfect too, not too sweet. Thank you Ms.Dina for cooking for me. You're amazing!

This place is very authentic and has good service. I got two pupusas - queso y chile verde and queso, frijol, y loroco. I really enjoyed the queso, frijol y loroco pupusa and I wish I got more!! I was however very full after two. The entree dishes also looked very large and delicious and I wish I ordered those as well. The horchata was refreshing and not overly sweet. read more

Great local restaurant and an unexpected gem! The service was great, food was delicious and a lot of locals coming in and out (which is always a good sign). Seems to be a strong local landmark. The huevos rancheros were delicious and made in a traditional manner. All the food here tasted very authentic and traditional and talking to the owner, he wanted to share that tradition and flavor of el Salvador with the customers. The papusas were definitely the star of the show. We tried 5 different flavors and all of them were delicious. Their homemade salsa is delicious and you can ask for picante (hot) salsa. They also provide a Cole slaw which goes very well with the papusas. The empanadas were good, but a little bit weaker than the other dishes, but were still good. They were a bit on the sweet side for my taste. Highly recommend, this place is well worth supporting and serves excellent food. read more

Was up north visiting and asked my mom what she felt like having for dinner. I found this place on Yelp and based on the reviews, decided to give them a try. We called in the order as we know Pupusas take some time to make and it's more convenient when picking up. The staff was friendly and helpful when we arrived. Overall, the Pupusas were good. We ordered a few different ones from their good selection. I have to say that the only ones that I wasn't too big on were the ones that contained black beans. The beans did not have flavor and they just made the Pupusas taste bland. The chicharrón and cheese ones had good flavor though. If I was in the area, I would go back and enjoy some more Pupusas. read more

Every few Sundays the family gets together to go out to dinner in Carson City. We have decided that we would try something new every once in awhile so we decided try La Santaneca Restaurant. It would be what you would call a "hole in the wall" in a nondescript strip mall in Carson City. One that has two other decent places to eat as well. If not more. I'm not sure. The owner of he Restaurant, I didn't get his name, was very helpful explaining what the food was and helped us decide what to order. Most of us being muggles to Salvadoran cuisine. There were seven of us with only three that had been exposed to this kind of food before. Several of the first timers ordered the entree called Tipico which I would call a Salvadoran sample platter. It pretty much had one of each of the staples, a pupusa, a pastillo, some fried yuca which is like a potato, carnitas, slaw etc. everyone said it was good. I had a carne asada with their version of pico de gallo and rice. The meat was tender and tasty. And the pico had lots of different flavors. There were several dishes that would be too adventurous for this muggle to enjoy that were obviously being enjoyed by other Salvadorans that were there in force enjoying a Sunday special called Sopa de Patas whose main ingredient I won't mention here. All in all I think everyone enjoyed their dinner. My only suggestion for the owner would be to put fresh brewed iced tea on the menu. Besides water there wasn't really anything non soda that was sugar free on the menu to drink. We will definitely be back for another meal! read more

"Ask a local." Okay, so I asked Claudy where to go for lunch. Then I said Hey Claudy, you and Bryan come join me. So we met up on a lovely Saturday afternoon and had a great lingering lunch at a place I don't think I would have necessarily come to on my own. Thanks for the recommendation! Don't come and be in a rush or you will be sorely disappointed. Think of it as your El Salvadoran abuelita in the back kitchen making you lunch - don't complain, or you'll get no food and probably a swat on the butt. Good thing we are all friends, so we sat and chatted and caught up on life. The food didn't seem to come out in any particular order. I had a mango milkshake which was mmmm mmm good. I ordered a chicken (pollo) papusa, which I thought would come first but came last. No worries, I was full by then and had it later for dinner. Mmm mmm good. Loved the cheesiness and chicken combination, pero si me conoces, cualquier cosa con queso es muy bueno para mi! My main dish was the chicken encebollado - basically a quarter chicken (thigh and leg) deep fried and covered with roasted onions and green peppers. It came with a tasty plop of rice and a nice-but-I-didn't-eat-much green salad with lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers. There is a whole slew of different kinds of papusas to try, and at about $1.85 apiece, there's no harm coming back and trying different combinations including unusual kinds of squash and vegetables with the cheese. read more

Amazing! The staff was excellent. Our server who we assume was the owner was so helpful. He recommended the Tipico so we could try multiple dishes. It was DELICIOUS! Every item on the plate was tasty. My husband ordered three different papusas. My son ordered a chicken salad so we teased him about being boring. The owner brought us our drinks and brought my son a special drink so we couldn't call him boring. I'm so glad we found this gem. If you're in the area you must stop here! We will be back! read more

In search for the best pupusas in Northern Nevada? Look no further! La Santaneca, without a doubt, has the most delicious pupusas. Their secret? Everything is fresh and made to order. With every bite you take you will be longing for the next. I have not had an order that I did not love. I live in Reno which is about a half hour drive to Carson and will make the drive for no other reason than to eat this delicious food. This is a statement to how good they are. The food is very good and the main server/cashier/potential owner? Is super friendly. The horchata has distinct flavors of rice. I had the cheese pupusas, chicken tamale, and green salad, all of which were good. My brother tried the sampler plate which I recommend if you've never had Salvadoran food. My dad had chicken with onion and the meat practically fell off the bone! read more

This is my favorite pupuseria! The pupusas are always served fresh and tasty, and they have an amazing variety of pupusas that you just don't see at most pupuserias. They also have an extensive menu of other Salvadoran food items in case you are in the mood for something different. However, the best thing about this restaurant is their service. The man who runs the place (the owner, I think) is very sociable. From the moment you enter the door, he is there to welcome and greet you. His friendly sense of humor will bring a smile to your face. The team that helps him is also very accommodating. Everyone there will go above and beyond to make sure that your order is correct, and that you get the best service. For example, my husband and I were there yesterday. We ordered several pupusas to go. All of them were marked, which meant that we didn't have to break them open to see what was what. I really appreciated that attention to detail, because I have been to several pupuserias where they don't do that. They'll just lump all of the pupusas together, making it challenging to find everyone's specific order. Sadly, friendly and attentive customer service is lacking at most of the other pupuserias and other kinds of restaurants that I have visited lately. Thankfully, I cannot say the same about the Santaneca. At the Santaneca, you will receive great food and great service. The prices are a little expensive, but given the high cost of food nowadays, I understand. Anyway, I am willing to pay extra if the quality and prices are good, which they are at the Santaneca! read more

Hubby and I came here for dinner after seeing such great reviews. I love pupusa and was looking forward to it. The owner greeted us and helped us order pupusa. I ordered cheese-jalapeno and cheese-spinach. Hubby ordered cheese-chicken and cheese-loroco. It took about 35 min for the order and I can understand it takes time to make these. The cheese jalapeño pupusa was good. But overall it was very bland even with the coleslaw and sauce. Hubby dint like his chicken pupusa. Loroco had a unique taste. We have had pupusas in San Francisco and they were soo tasty compared to these. I am not able to pinpoint what was different but it just was not that good. I had the ensalada drink and it was alright. More of a pineapple juice with fruits. read more

This unassuming pupuseria has been here for almost a decade. With an incredible variety of pupusas, this restaurant is a great find if you enjoy El Salvadoran food. We haven't tried the tamal, but the pupusas are made fresh and they're delicious. They come with cortado and pupusa salsa, which are must-haves with the pupusas. We regularly get the frijol y queso and the frijol, queso, y loroco and are never disappointed. read more

We tried this beautiful family owned restaurant when visiting Carson city. My partner and I absolutely loved the delicious, homemade, flavorful pupusas including veggie pupusas & the sweet fried plantains with the refried beans and El Salvadoran sour cream. The owner/staff were so friendly, welcoming & patient with our questions of how to eat pupusas since it was our first time. The hot salsa was yum!! Great Salvadoran food! We tried this restaurant after doing a search for a new restaurant to try. Super service, and yummy food. We went back just 2 days later! The fresh fruit pineapple juice drink was delicious - a nice summertime treat, although, we enjoyed it this winter. We ate the sampler plate both times...the pupusas are so tasty. I was visiting Carson City and found all the positive Yelp reviews on this restaurant, now I know why!! I was not only impressed with how clean the restaurant is but the food is awesome!! I always have the revueltas pupusa when I am able to have Salvadorian food, and this was by far the best I've had. The lady taking and serving the order is very nice. First off service here was minimal, the wait person never checked back to ask how everything was or if I needed anything else. Second I waited quite awhile for my food. But thirdly everything was delicious.. I ordered a chicken cheese papusa and a shrimp cocktail. I honestly wish I had ordered another papusa , but the cocktail was filling and yummy. My first try here was worth it.. I just have to remember to be patient and accept things the way are. Also my suggestion, there's not any atmosphere, they need music to liven the place up. read more

What can I say about La Santaneca... thus far the best authentic Salvadoran restaurant! We live 45 mins away from this restaurant and it is worth the dive! Best pupusas ever! Salvadoran tamales are delicious! The staff are always so kind and cordial they always make us feel welcome! They are still open and are practicing all safety measures during this pandemic. OMG!!! First time trying Pupusa and I am SOLD!!! The guy that took our order was SO friendly and welcoming!! We got the chicken jalapeno, chorizo & chz, chicken & chz, Chili Verde & chz, and Carne asada &chz! They were HOT & Fresh, the flavors were so good. We only stopped because we were hungry leaving Lake Tahoe so we gave this place a try and it was AMAZING. Too bad its 40 mins away from our home. Oh and the Drink!!! La Santaneca has the best Pupusas in town, if not some of the best food in town. The food does usually take time to prepare because their food is made fresh and the quality is excellent, so be patient, I promise it's worth the wait. read more

Wasn't so sure about this place at first. Invited to try Salvadoran food for the first time. Pleasantly surprised. I ordered Chile Relleno, which is a bell pepper stuffed with shredded beef. It also came with a salad, rice, and two tortillas. The waiter was very friendly and gave us suggestions and even a free drink to try. The space was overly colorful for me and decorations were sparse. I'm not a huge fan, but that is because of my tastes, not the food or the service. I would recommend if you like Salvadoran food or you want to try something different. read more

I did not have the best experience due to the language barrier. That is a problem when ordering food with preferences and allergies. Menu is confusing because the booklet menu and the one on the wall were not the same. I ordered pupusa with chicharon and cheese. The older lady that took my order didn't speak English and just nodded her head with assumptions of my order. The man at the cash register asked for payment, I inspected the order. What I got was not what I ordered. I informed the man at the register and he tried to correct the order. Round 2 What I got was not what I ordered. I left with a bean and cheese pupusa. (I don't eat beans so that was a problem. I left the restaurant with an order I would end up throwing away, less money in my pocket, and increased hunger. I will not allow myself to go through this again so I will not be back. Warning: If you don't speak El Salvadorian, buyers beware. read more

I loveeeeee papusas ! This was actually the first place I had ever gone to try papusas and thats when I fell in love. Since then, ive been to other places both in Carson City and Reno and this is still the best place hands down. This restaurant has WAY more papusa options than anywhere else.. Not only is the food delicious (espeically their fruit salad drink) but the male owner is the absolute sweetest every time im in there. Hes always cheery with a big smile on his face, he truly makes the entire experience wonderful. read more

The salsa bar has lots of different choice to choose from from mild to super hot ... all labeled. The cooks just call out your order, so you better listen for it. The street tacos had a ton of meat on them and I just put some salsa one all of them as well as adding onions and greens. Wow, these were some of the best tacos I ever had! Just pick them up and fold and shove in mouth! Tasty! The burrito was a little different than other burritos I've had. The tortilla shell wasn't as thick of doubled over in the folding so it wasn't as easy to get it to stand up to eat hand held from one end, but having less tortilla is better cause it's easier to bite into and the taste of the fillings come through better. I like this burrito! I'd come back here again if I'm in the area. Sometimes I have my crew with me for work out on East Carson sometimes, I'll bring them here.

We were hungry and decided we wanted Mexican food. We've been really tired of the place we've been visiting as we are regulars there. We've been really wanting to try something new and I remembered there was a place down the street from the plaza we were at. San Marcos Grill is not very hard to find. It's just off the main drag going through Carson City on Winnie Lane. We pulled in to the parking lot and I have to be honest. My first thought was wow I hope this place is good. Because I had my doubts being in a strip mall. But you never know unless you try. So we walked, and I was amazed, how awesome this place looked I'm talking very festive, very clean. Tables were well spaced out. The lady greeted us immediately and pointed us to a table where we could sit at. She was there taking our drink orders very quickly. As we sat and looked over the menu, I could not get over the size and beauty of the bar that they have in this establishment. Complete with a great selection of any kind of drink, you could possibly want also TVs that are spaced around the establishment so if you want to watch a sport event, there's not a bad seat anywhere in the restaurant. After looking over the menu, our server came to our table was a very nice young lady and took our orders. My wife chose the beef enchiladas, and a taquito, which comes with rice and beans As I always do with a new establishment, I chose the Carnitas plate. I am a Carnitas aficionado and I always try everyone's Carnitas to see if they are legit. As we're waiting for our food, I noticed an older gentleman who was just helping everybody, come to find out he is the owner. I do not know his name, but he's very friendly guy and very warm and welcoming. As I said, the establishment is very spacious and clean. The bathroom was even clean, so it was a real joy to be there, even though we were waiting on our food, which did not take very long. My wife ordered a margarita that she really liked and I just had a Modelo with a lime. The gentleman I just told you about who I think is the owner brought our food to us and it looked amazing. Needless to say, we dug right into our food and I could not get over how great these Carnitas tasted. Not everyone can make really good Carnitas, they're either dry or they're cooked too long to were they are too crispy. These are so tender and flavorful. I enjoyed every bite. My plate came with rice in a small bowl of beans, a garnish of avocado, sour cream and pico. It also came with very hot corn tortillas The tortillas, however we're spoiled and tasted really old. In fact, you can smell how old they were. I let our server know, but it was no big deal because I had tortilla chips still on the table. She offered to get me some new tortillas, but it was fine because I only use the tortilla to kind of put my food onto the fork. So the tortilla chips worked just fine. I kept trying to eat the Carnitas slowly because I was savoring it so much. I did not want to hurry and be done with the meal too fast. This was our first visit here, and I can tell you that we will be back and probably become regulars. Located at the McCarran Plaza directly on E. Prater Rd and adjacent to N. McCarran Blvd in the heart of Sparks, this has been one of the top rated spots for papusas in the northern Nevada area dating back to 2012. And if my family (that live north of here in Spanish Springs) didn't tell me about this hidden gem, I would have no idea it even existed. I came here with my lady during the afternoon on Saturday 6/20/2026 at around 3:00pm. Since this is an outdoor strip mall with lots of other businesses and eateries, parking was fairly easy to find; especially since we came in between lunch and dinner. The exterior showcases the business name while the interior actually has two separate dining areas. In fact, it is so spacious inside, there is ample room to accommodate a lot more tables and chairs. I do think the layout is also designed to where people can dance if they have hold private gatherings. Even though the decor looks a bit dated, this only adds to some of the charm and authenticity of this small business. As I mentioned, their menu consists of both Salvadoran food; papusas, sopas, pollo fritos, etc. as well as Mexican food; tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc. All types of traditional Central American meats are prepared here as well as a variety of seafood options, a-la-carte items, soups, sodas, and juices. I ended up ordering one frijoles (bean) papusa and one fish taco while my lady ordered two frijoles (bean) papusas. Total price for everything after tax + tip only came out to around $20; not bad at all even with skyrocketing food prices. We were given complimentary chips & salsa, a number, and proceeded to sit at one of the booth tables. Both our orders arrived in less than 10 minutes by the same lady that took our order. We received the traditional cabbage slaw with our papusas (a.k.a. curtido) with the savory tomato salsa roja. One bite of my bean papusa and the flavor absolutely hits perfectly. The ratio of beans combined with the crispiness of the tortilla shell hit all the high notes for me. As for the fish taco, this was absolutely delicious as every single bite had an abundance of crispy fried (tilapia) fish. It also included amazing crema sauce, avocados, and other fillings to elevate the overall flavor. All in all, "El Pulgarcito" is the real deal and if you're looking for a place that serves up amazing Salvadoran food in the greater Reno-Sparks metropolitan area, this hits all the high notes. Prices are very competitive, service was top notch, and the food was a grand slam for me. Keep in mind that they are closed on Mondays but are open for business Tuesday through Sunday from 9am-7pm. I had what I think is called the butchers platter with ribs, chicken wings, and pork belly. The food arrived and looked pretty darn good. But that's where it ends. My wife kept saying how salty the food was. And I got to thinking about that as I was eating my wings with the so-called Memphis dust flavoring on them. Those were equally salty so I thought wow OK maybe it's just our taste buds. Then I tried my ribs and they were also salty. I tried my wife's ribs just to see if they were that salty and come to find out they really were and dry. The fries that came with my wife's food tasted like they were old like they've been sitting out for a while. The coleslaw was also bland. After bragging about the pork belly and cheese, my grandson stated that it was pretty bland with very little flavor. So I tried it just to see what was going on and sure enough it was really lacking something what I don't know. I'm thinking garlic because it was pretty darn bland. First off, nigiri. These are HUGE and they come with a sizable slab of sashimi cut fish on top too. Pro-tip is to order less than you think you'll eat, because the size is sure to surprise and they will fill you up quickly. Don't sleep on the specialty nigiri here OR he Scallop Supreme appetizer, which is seared scallop sashimi! Second, sticking with the size matters theme, the hand rolls. Spicy salmon, spicy scallop and scallop OG are all stellar, and you will be blown away by the amount of seafood stacked in these when they arrive. One is easily an entire maki roll worth of filling and you will be stoked when you sink your teeth in. I definitely ordered at least two spicy salmon hand rolls and should have had a third. Third, massive maki, perfectly proportioned and portioned for sharing. Do yourself a favor and order the Pink Fire with spicy yellowtail seared with togarashi, sesame oil, salt & pepper wrapped in soy paper, then topped with seared tuna, yummy sauce, teriyaki, ponzu, green onions, chili flakes, & sesame seeds. The Double Down is another winner with salmon, tuna, yellowtail on the inside, then topped with salmon, tuna, yellowtail, tobiko, avocado. FOURTH, don't skip dessert! Can you say house-made ice cream?? I can and I'd say it two or three times here if they'd let me. This stuff is SERIOUSLY good. Desserts are not an afterthought here and you need to save room. FIFTH, last but 100% the most important and not least, SERVICE IS STELLAR! Yes. They are on it. They love what they serve. They're a solid team and this place wins as a result! The staffs were very busy, definitely overworked. Everything we ate was better than average, definitely surpised us as we come from the Bay Area where we get the best of the best sushi.

A group of us had extended family in town for a birthday celebration. We went out one night and…read morebooked a reservation for the 10 of us at Garibaldi's on a Friday night before Memorial Day weekend got going. We arrived en mass and were welcomed by an excellent staff at the door. As that our group for the most part were of Italian Mediterranean parentage all were pleasantly surprised at the numerous authentic dishes form which to chose. When our entrees arrived our group got very quiet-not an easy thing to do considering the persona of us overall. Excellent food, good wine, very generous portions with perfect timing in regard to the appetizers and entrees being served together. As we finished we asked that a glass of the chefs favorite wine be sent back in a show of appreciation. Slade came out and thanked us; we were surprised to see how young he was for the expertise in which he had prepared such an excellent experience. Naturally being the shy retiring wallflowers we are -NOT- we asked about his background and were pleasantly surprised again to find his culinary education had started with family and grown as he had. This restaurant truly speaks for itself through its exceptional cuisine. While the wait time for food may be a bit longer than usual, it is certainly understandable given the commitment to serving delicious, fresh dishes each time.
