We will start with the good. Hot crunchy chips and salsa. The salsa had decent flavor not spicy but good. The margaritas are a steal super big and yummy for a big price. I guess the mistake was on me for ordering flautas which to me are always made with corn . Here they are made with flour tortillas not the same and didn't love it the texture was not great. The flavor of the shredded beef was very good. The enchiladas were ok they were more like entomatadas the sauce was all the tomato and no spice at all. The beans were fine. This used to be one of my favorite places in town, but tonight was very disappointing. They now charge 3$ for another basket of chips and $2 for another small dish of salsa. We ordered a large guacamole and were told chips don't come with that. We were a party of three, why would we have to pay more than say a party of 2 or even one. Ridiculous. My carnitas street taco was half fat and that's new too. They were always very good. I understand prices are going up everywhere, but their prices far exceed the ambiance (not much) and the quality. Came here for lunch with my family. This is a nice authentic Mexican restaurant. They give you free chips and salsa to start which is nice. My kids each got kids meal burritos. I got the full chicken quesadilla. My husband got the taco salad. All our food was delicious and flavorful. It's a little bit pricey, but the potions are huge, even the kids meals. This is by far the best Mexican in town. The carnitas super burrito is my favorite, and the cane asada is my second favorite. I literally eat here once a week because it's so good. This is a pretty straight forward family owned establishment. Good friendly service and good food at a decent price. I'm a very picky eater and I must say this is hands on food that never disappoints! I've heard from coworkers that their food was subpar, however, after trying it and becoming a regular customer, I must say that they completely misjudged this restaurant. I ordered a combination with 3 different entrees so I could try a variety of their food, since it was our first time here. I wasn't at all impressed. The rice had some flavor, but was a bit overcooked so it was a bit soggy. The refried beans had basically no flavor. I ordered a cheese enchilada as I always have an enchilada with any Mexican food I order. I don't know how they did it, but the cheese was a flat disc that was pretty firm, and very difficult to chew, so I didn't eat more than a couple of bites. My husband tried it and said the same thing-the enchilada was difficult to chew. It also had more of a salsa than a red enchilada sauce on top. Not my choice, but I could still have eaten it if it weren't for the cheese disc. The chimichanga came with ground beef, but I had ordered shredded beef. I don't mind ground beef so would have eaten it if it weren't for the fact that the shell, which should be nice and crispy, was soggy, both top and bottom. I think the fact that they set it on the plate next to the enchilada and it's thinner salsa-style sauce, plus all the stuff they added on top, caused it to absorb a lot of liquid, thus the soggy shell. The taco was the shredded beef I ordered, but I wasn't impressed there either. The shredded beef was bland, and the shell was a bit soggy instead of crispy. Not as soggy as the chimichanga shell, but it bent instead of broke when biting into it. They also put some kind of pico de gallo inside, which was too spicy for me. My husband had a taco salad with carne asada, and he did eat it all. But, he said it was just edible, not great, but not bad, and he gave it a C+. Overall, I didn't enjoy any part of my meal, and we have decided to keep searching for a good Mexican restaurant in the area as this is definitely not it. Oh, and we were unfortunately seated at the table closest to the TV they keep on non stop, which added to the regular restaurant noise, and made the noise level unbearably loud.
