I went with the breakfast crepe, which was good, but honestly couldn't compete with that pita. Renee even makes her own verde hot sauce, which was a really nice touch! For something sweet, we tried the Boston cream crepe and the peach cottage crepe. Both were delicious, but the Boston cream crepe was easily my favorite. If you haven't been to Renee's yet, you're seriously missing out--it makes brunch feel fun and special!

She made sure to let me know there were specials written on the wall in chalk. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza crepe, but instead of ham and bacon, how it's originally made, I had just pepperoni. I would have added onion, but I thought a $1 upcharge for onion was far too much, so i didn't add it on principle alone. The crepe came out pretty quickly! It was very good, my only "gripe" is that the cheese and pepperoni didn't get a lil burn to it, like a pizza would have. I love burnt cheese and a lil char on my pepperoni! My sweet crepe, I got apples, sweetened condensed milk, walnuts and whipped cream. This was also very good! Not too sweet, just sweet enough! The apples retain their heat a bit, though, and i burnt me mouth, but that's my own fault. I will definitely be coming back, probably alone again, as it's a rather tiny establishment. This is definitely a hidden gem in fxb!

There is a customer who has tried every crepe on the menu and comes often. The outdoor patio area is a decent temperature for the winter. There's only one outdoor heater, so bundle up if you can't sit near the heater. This company was very good about accommodating food restrictions. This is definitely not a full meal without any animal proteins, but for the volume of food that you get, the price is worth it. Wonderful experience. If you have a water bottle that you bring in, they will fill it up with ice and water if you ask for that. Very kind and generous people! This business is only 3 years old, but it's run like a well-oiled machine. Thank you everyone at the Cottage Creperie!

The cheery folks behind the counter were super friendly and helpful. We ordered two crepes. The menu leans traditional, with a variety of options that highlight classic French flavors. That said, it's a bit on the pricier side for the overall experience. I'd recommend Fontaine more for a specific occasion, like taking visiting parents, or if you're dining with someone who needs gluten-free options, as they have good choices. Overall, a quaint and inviting spot that brings a touch of France to Old Town.

To quote the great Tyra Banks: "I want to give you a zero, but that's not possible. So I give you a…read more1." Let's just say the food here was absolutely disappointing. All of the hip young girls in high school recommended this place to me and my friends and lets just say, they have never been more wrong. My girls and I went this weekend for a birthday brunch. I wanted a crepe, but when I saw it was 17 DOLLARS to slap some Nutella and strawberries on a piece of crepe is outrageous. I ordered a "Continental Breakfast," which, with tax and tip, cost me $30 DOLLARS. I wish you could have seen the look on my face when they gave me a plate of rabbit food. All 6 of us looked at the plate and laughed. Seriously, my 5 year old neice can eat 3 times as much of that in one sitting. So, in what world would that be enough food for a grown woman? My friend then went on to order the French toast for a grand total of $36 DOLLARS. Mind you, there was only one piece of toast, and the Inside was raw and soggy. Tasted like eating wet, soaked toilet paper. On top of the overpriced food and small portions, our "server" came to our table for a total of ONE SINGULAR TIME. My friend had also ordered a Chai Latte. Surprise, Surprise! It never came, and they still charged her for it. I think the nice man who brought us our food could see the look on our faces when we received our food, because he then brought us a free side of French fries. It is a huge problem when the french fries were the only sufficient thing I put in my mouth at this restaurant. I please, genuinely beg all of you to NOT waste your money. I promise there is anywhere else where you can get a crepe for double the size and half the cost. Once we left, we went down to Call Your Mother, the Jewish Deli, to get more food, as all of us left with our tummies still rumbling. Mind you, a full bagel sandwich and coffee cost HALF THE PRICE of one meal at Fontaine. Horrible. Mind you, it is 2 days later, and I am still thinking about this. I fully created a Yelp account just so I could leave a review. I think I would have a better experience eating an IHOP Continental breakfast than whatever I put in my mouth at this restaurant. Not worth the hype at all. Save your hard-earned cash and be a big baller elsewhere!

The emmental egg galette was fantastic. It does seem they've pivoted their menu more towards small plates - so the galette options are more limited than advertised online - and they don't serve coffee at brunch times. They've partially offset the fratty sterile vibes of the Navy Yard area, but there's only so much that a poster of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg can accomplish.

One day after a long/hot cycling session I decided to finally drop in and I'm so glad I did! The food was sooooo good! I came in ready to order the Le Mile End, but the server told me they didn't have all the ingredients (hence the 1/2 star deduction) but they recommended the clementine crepe and it was FIRE! I'm so glad they recommended this one because it would have gone under my radar. I got two additional dishes, but the names escape me and unfortunately I don't see them on the menu, but they were equally enjoyable. I love the interior, it's very clean/modern and it's right by the anacostia. I will be back soon when I'm in the mood for French bites.

Tip: pack your patience…read more I've been wanting to try Cafe Columbia since I heard they have the option to add ice cream to the crepe. Ice cream with crepes are one of my favorite type of crepes, and that's exactly what I ordered; a crepe with ice cream. I walked in and the cafe was bustling with people enjoying their meal, and the workers preparing meals. It was a full house, however, I was able to grab a table for two. French Toast Crepe: this simple yet tasty crepe fit the bill. It had cinnamon flavor with whipped cream and I opted for a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It didn't come with fruit which I will add next time (yes, there will be a next time). Belgium Waffle: another simple item yet the batter was better than I expected. It didn't come with toppings. It came with a lite dusting of powdered sugar and came with room temperature butter. Chai Latte: this was good on the first sip. It seemed watered down and I would have preferred more flavor. Then again, I'm not a regular drinker of chai latte, and my daughter seemed to enjoy it. So don't count this out. When we ordered the staff gave us a disclaimer the crepe would take about 25 minutes. I didn't mind at the time. It took longer than that; however, I could see the workers constantly working on preparing meals so it didn't bother me. We got the waffle about 25 minutes later so we decided to share both the waffle and crepe. The crepe came out about 20 minutes later. The cafe has a well thought out layout. It has tables on each side, a reading area, and an area with complimentary water next to the coffee/tea station. The little station has water, cups, sugar, napkins and creamer (not pictured because it was packed and constantly occupied). On the other side you'll find more tables, the restrooms, and an ostracized nook that had someone in there occupying the chairs for what seemed like quiet time. Customer service is good. Parking is free in a huge parking lot for the business building. The cafe is located at the front of a shared business building. The menu has a variety of waffles with and without fruit options; crepes made either savory or sweet; and coffee drink options. There is an ice cream bar for scoops of ice cream or milkshakes; and lastly some fruit cups. Overall, I enjoyed the cafe and plan to add it to my list of favorites.
