As the bride and groom, we had a blast making our way to the truck -- I went with pistachio (phenomenal) and my wife chose mint chocolate chip. Our guests raved about the flavors all night. Oh my goodness!!! This was such a cute party favor. A good friend of mine hosted a big party for her husband and hired this ice cream truck to come by and serve the guests. My girl went all out for her man!! Shoot-even his grown son turned into the biggest kid after ordering his malt milkshake. They offer a variety of sundaes, milkshakes, ice cream flavors, etc. And it was delicious! The customer service was friendly, but they try to keep the line moving, so don't step to that truck window still trying to figure out your life based on their menu..hahahaha. In the best way, it is obvious that this ice cream is homemade with love and care. I was torn between chocolate and blueberry, so I had half-and-half in one scoop. I could have eaten an entire tub of each! The ice cream was rich and creamy, sweet, but not too sweet. The blueberry flavor was bright and fresh. The chocolate was rich and dense. As an ice cream addict, I'm kind of ashamed that I had never eaten anything from The Inside Scoop until the food truck event at the Kelly Leadership Center. (Thanks for supporting local educators!) The employees in the truck were so kind and patient, even with the long line of eager families visiting the truck. They made sure customers with children knew the ingredients of the products, especially when there were potential allergens like peanuts and eggs. I tried a scoop of the cookies and cream in the waffle bowl. It was absolute perfection. The ice cream was so deliciously creamy and smooth with plenty of chocolate cookie pieces mixed in. The waffle bowl was so light and buttery, but still strong enough to hold the ice cream without breaking or turning into mush. I'll definitely be visiting The Inside Scoop in the future. This food truck is highly rated for a reason - it's delicious and has a lot of great ice cream options! Options include a banana split, ice cream sundae, ice cream sandwich, and of course ice cream on a cone (with multiple cone and topping options to choose from). We debated getting the banana split but it seemed a bit decadent for our appetites, and were tempted by the ice cream sandwich, but it was a bit less ice cream than we wanted so despite the many awesome options, we ended up getting ice cream on a cone. I got 2 scoops, and it was a very hearty portion. I'd say if I were scooping my own scoops at home, it would be the equivalent of 4 at-home scoops. There were plenty of ice cream options (which I understand get rotated around), including the usual vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate, as well as some interesting options like coconut sherbert (dee-licious) and peanut butter chocolate ice cream. I was looking for an ice cream vendor/truck to surprise my husband for his birthday and came across the Inside Scoop. From the very beginning, working with Daniel was amazing! He took the time to answer all of my questions, provided detailed menus, and went above and beyond to make this happen. Unfortunately, the park where I hosted my husband's event made it impossible for me to acquire Daniel's services within the short amount of turnaround time that I had. Still, Daniel tried his best to meet EVERY request that they had. It was such a shame because I was really looking forward to working with him and tasting the many treats on his truck. The Inside Scoop was a last-minute addition to our wedding party event (well, booked about 2 months prior, but one of our last vendors to be added). Our daughter & her fiancé wanted to get married on Sept 5, 2020 (during the pandemic) and we were brainstorming ways to keep most of the celebration outside. We came up with the idea to have dessert outside the venue (Riverside on the Potomac in Leesburg, VA). We already had hired one dessert truck (donuts) & we decided that an ice cream truck would be a welcome addition. Daniel was great to work with! He arrived when scheduled and had plenty of ice cream choices for our guests. The ice cream was delicious and the line moved fast. The dessert trucks were one of the highlights of a super fun evening. And all of our guests thought they were the "icing on the cake"! I stumbled upon this truck outside of an office building complex in Springfield. I initially passed it by but after thinking it over for a second decided I wanted a sweet treat. I went with the root beer float as I hadn't had one in a while and it was okay but nothing out of this world. The root beer they use was one I had never tried before but was fresh with nice flavor, ice cream was tasty and thick but again nothing that amazed me. If it is warm out, it is probably worth a try but nothing I would need to track down to have. read more

Came to the inside scoop during the rock the park event in Fairfax. Saw ice cream sandwich and had to get one. So I decide on the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie with butter pecan ice cream now normally I'm an oatmeal raisin person but I wasn't feeling the Indonesian cinnamon ice cream. My mother wanted the Japanese Green Tea. They had a lot of flavors to choose from seems to appeal to the masses. I also saw cherry blossom sorbet which sounded interesting but I stuck with my choice. It took maybe 5 mins + to get our order which confused me a bit because most places I've been to usually have preformed ice cream cookie sandwiches here. It is literally 2 cookies and a scoop of ice cream sandwiches in between for $4.00. Now that's not particularly a bad thing however if the cookies is kinda rock hard I doubt I can eat it as a sandwich now the cookie tasted pretty good nice chunks of macadamia nuts but it was a shame my cookie sandwich was literally a separate entities cookies and a scoop of ice cream. Th butter pecan it's a milder flavor then I've had needed more pecans to be honest and maybe a bit more flavor it was kinda bland which I guess helped since the cookie was overly sweet. Moms's green tea ice cream was pretty good creamy with a hint of green tea was it packing the flavor not too much. Although the man behind the counter seemed really excited we ordered it and said it was really good. I'll ignore the fact that he is trying to convince 2 Asian people that his green tea ice cream can convince the Asian palate. Overall ice cream at inside scoop is decent for what it is a homemade ice cream served out of a truck with different selections of toppings and other goodies. Our treats set us back $7.25. Absolutely delicious, especially in the summertime at Fairfax City's Rock the Block events. The truck offers unique ice cream flavors such as oatmeal cookie; I can't remember what other flavors but this is more gourmet than your average ice cream truck.The staff is friendly and there's always a huge line so I suggest you bring a buddy to keep you distracted while you wait or you show up early.
