Dr. Moarefi is one of the best doctors I've ever met, sweet, kind, patient man, best experience ever. Originally my optometrist friend referred to me a Dr. for Caterac Surgery but after that consultation I left feeling so confused, didn't feel that doctor really cared made me feel unfortable didn't ask me anything or exam. I went home and started researching for another doctor that does Caterac Surgery, I remembered in 2000 I had LASIK with Dr. Wallace that was perfect. I looked him up and then discovered Dr. Moarefi does Caterac at their LA Sight center. From the moment I walked into Dr. Moarefi office everyone was so nice and welcoming, one of the most beautiful office with a nice Zen feeling. When I met Dr. Moarefi he was so kind, I could feel the caring right away, he asked questions and listened to my concerns. He did his own exam and took notes, hands on, just like old school for a young doctor. I was very impressed. He explained everything so clearly it answered all my questions, concerns, I had no more fears or worries. I felt so safe and secure, I new then I was in really good hands. I wish all doctors were like him. Set up a date with his friendly office my Caterac Surgery. That was another wonderful experience, the 90210 surgical center, it was very nice, patient caring from the moment you walk in to check-in. You don't wait long, taken in met the wonderful nurse and anesthesiologist, made me feel comfortable and safe. Then doctor Moarefi came to see me just before going into to surgery to see how I was. Surgery didn't take long it was perfect. In recovery room such attentive staff checking on me, then Dr. Moarefi came to see how I was and let me know surgery went well. It was a nice, made me feel like family for my doctor to come and check on me, other doctors just leave, then that evening at home I received a call from Dr Moarefi and he was checking on me how I was doing, again such caring about his patients . Next day follow up, I walked in and told all the girls in the office what a great experience I had with my surgury. I had no pain I could see clearly it was like a miracle. I told my friend optomologist that he would really like Dr. Moarefi. A couple of years ago I had tmj surgery at the SAG bld., it was a bad experience, they left me sitting in recovery in pain, bruised up my arm trying to put IV in, doctor didn't even check in on me. Cataract surgery: It's like getting the miracle of sight!! I had been at the end of my rope with poor eyesight for over two years, and I needed a superior solution. However, none of the eye professionals I had seen in my hometown of Hilo, Hawaii had talked to me about my needing cataract surgery. I was getting inferior care without even realizing why I wasn't seeing well. So, my research began for a better solution. I decided it was time to pursue LASIK again. After much research and guidance on LASIK providers in the Los Angeles area (and somewhat near my family), I made a final assessment to trust LA Sight with my next eye procedure. I called their office to make an appointment and booked my flight to Los Angeles. Their office, by the way, was very accommodating with me being a new out-of-state patient, with just a short window of time in Los Angeles. At my appointment at LA Sight on 3/13/2023, I came to realize Dr. Moarefi at LA Sight was absolutely my amazing advocate! He looked at the results of my eye tests, examined me, listened to me about what I needed (I told him I need to see clearly between 15 and 30 inches (which I had measured at home)), and he told me that if I were his sister, he would tell me it's time for cataract surgery for this eye, rather than continuing with LASIK, as I had planned. However, there was one problem... Dr. Moarefi was not scheduled back at the surgical center until the following week. But, as I had flown in from Hawaii, and had only this week to have a procedure done, would Dr. Moarefi find some way to accommodate me? Doctor Moarefi took me straight to the surgery scheduling lady, telling her if the surgery center could schedule me for the following day, he would come in to do the surgery. I did not see him further that day. The scheduling lady told us it has never happened that surgery could be scheduled for the next day and that she had never seen the scheduling happen like that. But then, it did happen, JUST LIKE THAT!! The scheduler called the 90210 Surgical Center, and there was one slot to get me in for the surgery the next morning, early!! I was ecstatic! It turns out the next day was also my 60th birthday. And, I was going to receive this very awesome and miraculous birthday gift! The woman also showed my sister Deana and me a video showing what happens in cataract surgery. It was very informative. We left with the knowledge that I had three drops to put into my eyes on this, the day before surgery. I required no drops on the day of surgery, and then from the day following surgery onward for two weeks there would be three drops per day, and for another two weeks, there would be two drops per day. The 90210 Surgical Center in Beverly Hills is affiliated with The Cedars-Sinai Hospital, and it is also a teaching facility. Everyone I came into contact with was very helpful and kind and personable. Eye drops were put into my eyes, and an iv was started. I was told everything that would happen, every step of the way. The anesthesiologist also introduced himself and explained everything to me. Then Dr. Moarefi came in. My sister, Deana, who was in the reception/waiting room area, said Dr. Moarefi walked in precisely at the time I was scheduled for surgery, and he spoke with her both before and after the procedure. (The surgical center also continued to inform my sister of when the procedure had begun and again when the procedure had ended.) Just prior to the surgery, as I waited on the other side of a pulled curtain in the prep area, I could hear the family-like banter between the doctor and the nurses and surgical staff and technicians. Everyone seemed professional and confident in what was happening: surgery. Then, Dr. Moarefi came in to talk with me. After explaining the procedure again, he asked if I had any questions. Dr. Moarefi was very confident and reassuring. He had such a wonderful bedside manner that it was like having a family member as your eye surgeon. He explained everything that would happen. Immediately after that, I was rolled into a surgery room, the anesthesia was started, and my head was taped down to the bed, which I had already been informed was so that I would recall not moving while the surgeon did the work. I was awake for the whole thing and did as I was told to do, which was the easiest job: Look at the lights. Before I knew it, the whole procedure was over and I was wheeled into the recovery, given a snack, and then released. The rest of the day I rested, with no pain. There was never any pain past the i.v. going in my arm. My family and I went out to dinner for my birthday. I slept easily that night, with a clear patch covering my eye, and held on by some medical tape. The next morning, March 15, 2023, I went back for my post-op checkup. I could not be happier with my experience at LA Sight. I had the LASIK the procedure done on Thursday January 4th. Dr. Wallace and his team were absolutely amazing. The receptionists and the supporting technicians were extremely respectful and polite. I was even greeted by name when I went into the office! But, all the staff were so amazing, patient and supportive, one of the nurses even offered to hold my hand. I have to say dr. Wallace is absolutely amazing and extremely professional. From the initial consultation appointment, I knew there was something special about LA Sight. I had read a lot of reviews, done a lot of research, and was blown away by Dr. Moarefi--between his tenure as a surgeon and philanthropic work, he's an inspiring person and one of the best doctors I've ever worked with. He's such a professional with great bedside manner. I also have to give a shout out to Lawrence and Dr. Tseng as well for how incredible they were. So, day 1, I had what could be considered a usual optometry appointment except the tools were from the year 3000--so far and beyond what I was used to at Lenscrafters and other optometrists. The amount of data they gathered for each eye was incredible, and I was able to look over the readouts. And guess what? None of that air blowing into the eye thing like they usually do because, again, these machines are futuristic. After I was given the green light on being a great candidate, I chose to go ahead and do the eye testing with dilation as well. This was a normal eye dilation and test. Super easy. The entire process was so easy, in fact, that my wife and I decided to book me in for that same week (Thursday is when they do the surgeries). Leading up to it, I had the jitters a bit, but I knew I was in great hands. I arrived at 9 am, and immediately Dr. Tseng led my wife and me into a room to describe the process, pre-op, post-op in perfect detail (super easy to follow) and gave me the initial dose of Valium pre-surgery. We were then led to the "relaxation room," which was fitted with a massage chair, great music, water machines--I felt like I was about to get a luxury massage. It was so relaxing. I was then taken into the room with the big machine, which was so spotless it felt like an alien spaceship. I laid down on the table. Since I opted for the all-laser treatment, the first step is they numb your eyes with drops. And when I say numb, I mean NUMB. I looked at a green flashing light for 10 seconds on each eye (this creates the initial fold in the cornea), and the bed rotates on its axis to the second machine where Dr. Moarefi gently peels back the fold on each eye (painless - not even any pressure really), and you look at a light again for 10-15 seconds per eye for the actual laser treatment. Toward the end of the 15 seconds, you get a whiteout of the eye that goes away very quickly. Once you stand up from the process (which is under 4-5 minutes total), you can easily walk to the other room, and your vision is already usable. I was taken to the same room as the pre-op talk, and Dr. Moarefi checked my eyes on the machine to make sure everything was aligned on the cornea and ready for healing. I was then given a pair of goggles to wear home. You aren't supposed to open your eyes for 24 hours, but you can kinda crack them open to see where you're going and be about the house. It gave me podcast time and some R&R. The following morning you wake up, take off the goggles, and you have a lot of crust from tears and stuff, but I took the artificial tears, first dose of the anti-inflammatory drops, and the first dose of the antibiotic drops, and I could easily drive to the follow-up appointment. During the first follow-up I tested with 20/15 vision (this is 1 day after surgery, unreal). You can expect a little haze and such, but it'll be 90% there in a single day which is WILD. All that to say, I was told the process at LA Sight was so incredibly easy based on the online reviews, but wasn't expecting every single person in the office to be such an expert. Like if there was a fantasy football team for LASIK, I'd draft this team in round 1. Thank you to Dr. Moarefi, Dr. Tseng, Lawrence, and the fantastic receptionists for taking care of me. The entire experience was truly second to none, and I'm still blown away that I'm writing this review on my computer...24 hours after surgery and see better than I did with glasses/contacts. If I could give LA Sight 20 stars, I would, and can't recommend them enough. Absolutely brilliant team. Thank you all--this changed my life. read more

2 months after my all-laser LASIK surgery, I see 20/15 and could not imagine that I could see better than with my glasses. My eyes are healing very well and I don't really notice any dryness or any other serious side effects. SCAM. Avoid at all costs. Got my lasik surgery done here 2 years ago. They told me that I could use Care Credit to have 2 years of "interest free" financing. No where did they explain if it wasn't paid off in 2 years that they would add $2000 of interest because the promotional period expired. Either they don't know the product they use or they are misleading people into thinking their financing option is interest free and will be added $2000 of interest down the road. read more

I came here after going to other facility. I could tell right away this was the place for me. I enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly staff. It's taken me 20 years to work up the nerve to even consider lasik so I knew I had to find not only the best surgeon in LA but also the one that made me feel most confident and comfortable. I did 3 consultations with the highest rated surgeons on yelp and LA Sight was the clear choice for me. From the warm and welcoming staff, to the options and technology offered, and the no pressure way they allowed me to take my time, including coming in for another consult before deciding which procedure to move forward with. The day of I couldn't shake the nerves and the team went above and beyond my expectations to help me feel more at ease. I was nervous at receiving lasik at first, but everyone at the care team was amazing! They were very careful and thoroughly checked if I was a good candidate, which I was! I received my consultation and had my surgery the day after, which was very quick and painless. They provided me with a stress ball, shield cover for my eyes, and some eye drops after the surgery. They were very informative about what I should and should not do during my recovery period. I had Cataract surgery performed by Dr. Amir Moraefi, I had gone totally blind in my right eye, I live in Stevenson Ranch and I had been Waiting to get an appointment with Dr. Helm for quite some time. In fact since late March/early April, while on a trip to Ireland I lost sight in my right eye, that progressed to total blindness in the right eye, while I waited to see Dr. Helm on June 3rd for almost two months, His staff said, surgery could take additional weeks thereafter. I just knew I could not wait a moment longer, as this was one of the most disabling experiences I ever had. I am so glad and will be always thankful to have encountered this practice, La Sight and all of their staff at LA Sight. Everyone is exceptionally professional and the staff so very kind. From the moment I got there, I knew I was in the right place, everything fell into place ,from the person who tested my eyes, and did the scans he was from Ireland too, and we had lived 27 miles apart in our place of Birth, not only that Dr. Moraefi was going on vacation there the following week. Now what are the chances of that, maybe just one in a million I would say. They got me an appointment immediately, in fact if I could have made the appointment on the Monday I called, I would have been on the schedule for Tuesdays Surgery at 90210 Surgery Center in Beverly Hills, that Center and its staff were exceptional also. I am so glad I took the initiative to look for treatment, and choose this outstanding Doctor and this outstanding Practice, and all its outstanding and kind staff.. My sight in my Blind eye at my last examination has been restored to 20/25. Dr. Moraefi said it is a miracle actually. Surgery on second eye has been complete and I can see so well now. Will be having both eyes checked on July 3rd. Hopefully then I will be able to resume all activities that make me happy. Travel ,exercise, and especially Swimming. I want to share my experience because I believe it's important for everyone to know how simple and easy laser surgery can be. When the doctor confirmed that I was a candidate, I got so excited that I immediately scheduled a second appointment for further evaluation. Before my surgery, I was very nervous because it was something new to me, and I wasn't sure about the process. I had a lot of fears. I took the liberty to call them and express my nervousness, and the doctor's team was incredibly kind, assuring me that everything would be very straightforward. During the surgery, just like always, the team took excellent care of me and made me feel like family. They have a strong sense of connection with their patients, which makes you feel at home from the moment you enter until you leave the office. I think I overthought it because it's one of the simplest procedures. I arrived, they examined me, and I took a pill to relax. Then they took me to a super relaxing room with a massage chair. I felt very comfortable with the place and the treatment. Then the doctor came in and explained what would happen during the surgery. This was crucial for me because I've been with doctors who don't take the time to explain, which makes me more nervous. But with Dr. Ami, it was different. He explained every detail, and it calmed my mind. In the surgery room, they prepared my eyes, and while Dr. Amir worked, he kept me relaxed with his supportive presence and positive messages. The surgery was over in about 15 minutes, super simple, and there's nothing to fear. Today, I went for my follow-up appointment, and they gave me the news that I now have 20/15 vision when before I couldn't see anything! My wife and I both came in for lasik a couple of months ago. My wife's procedure was flawless and her quality of life has materially improved now that she does not have to deal with contact lenses. Unfortunately I previously had an undiagnosed condition that caused the surface of my eye (i.e., epithelium) to be very loose. As a result, my vision was blurry for a few days after the procedure. Not having perfect vision can be very concerning and disappointing. I contacted Dr. Moarefi and he and his team immediately swung into gear to figure out correct the situation. Dr. Moarefi saw me on the weekend and was by my side the whole time, making sure that I got the care I needed. He ended up scheduling a follow up appointment free of charge and corrected the situation. My vision was amazing right after the second procedure. I know I didn't get the quick next day results like my wife and everyone else I know who goes through lasik, but Dr. Moarefi and the team were right there by my side the whole time. So grateful to Dr. Wallace and everyone at LA Sight for helping me regain clear vision! Everyone at the office was so kind and helpful, they answered ALL of my questions and were very reassuring. I opted for the all-laser option for Lasik and have absolutely no regrets. The staff was incredibly thorough & checked my eyes multiple times during the consultation & pre-op to make sure that all my information was correct and that everyone was on the same page. I had lens replacement surgery mid-March at LA Sight with Dr. Moarefi after looking in to my options for LASIK etc. As I have gotten older, turning 50 later this year, my near vision has gotten more and more uncomfortable. I have been fortunate to have 20-15 vision most of my life, with a mild astigmatism. My distance vision started to get a little worse about 10 years ago but it was the close up that became a nuisance - strain reading, using my phone, even seeing my dinner place with clear crispness. After researching all of my options I stumbled on to LA Sight and Dr. Moarefi, and the incredible reviews (well deserved) could not be ignored. From start to finish the process was incredible. He and his nurses and office staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The surgery was shockingly simple. Literally just a couple of minutes per eye, the surgery center was amazing, the nurses throughout the surgery were so kind and helpful, and Dr. Moarefi could not have had a better bedside manner. There was literally *no pain or discomfort* post-op. The only challenges three months after my surgery have been with dry eye, which I have total control over. Dr. Moarefi has been always available for questions, quick to respond to emails, and my vision is incredible! I have not put on a pair of glasses since the surgery, and am blown away by how much better my vision is, and how little side effects or impact I have had to my daily life. Just follow Dr. Moarefi's directions and make sure to keep your eyes well lubricated with eye drops. But do not hesitate to go to LA site or to have Dr. Moarefi as your eye surgeon! DR. AMIR MOAREFI IS THE BEST!!! He is caring, and compassionate, and treats you like you're his only patient. I appreciated his patience with me. To be honest, I was extremely nervous & anxious about the procedure. He encouraged me to get a second opinion and gave me space to make my final decision. I never felt pressured by him. It took me about a year to mentally prepare and move forward, and truthfully, I feel so silly for taking this long. I got LASIK yesterday and I am feeling & seeing amazing today! I'm so mad at myself for not doing this sooner. Dr. Tseng was equally as wonderful. She has such a calming presence about her that immediately makes you feel calm and cared for. As for the actual procedure day, god bless that Valium & zen room. I felt like I was going to have an anxiety attack I was so nervous. But the zen room, massage chair, and medication did the trick! Dr. Moarefi came in and detailed exactly what was going to happen during the procedure. His calmness also helped soothe my nerves. During the procedure, Dr. Moarefi talked to me the entire time telling me what I'm doing is exactly right. If he didn't, I just know my anxiety would've kicked in and my mind would've wondered if I was looking at the right spot. There wasn't a moment where he didn't give me positive feedback. So, I finally got tired of wearing contacts, not just that but the prescription was always off, and I always ended up with not a clear vision, so enough is enough. After being recommended to LA Sight by my good trusted friend Fern, I decided to go through with it. My ophthalmologist was Dr. Moarefi. He was very professional, detailed, and optimistic. He gave me reassurance in going through with it. Everything was done quick, so quick it happened on the same week of having my consult. On the day of surgery I got treated almost like a VIP, getting my own little relaxing room with a massaging chair all to myself. Needless to say the surgery went quick and well. Dr Moarefi explained every step of the way. The staff has been amazing as well. So far it has been a great experience, and I'm able to see a lot better than before . 10/10 would recommend! I visited a total of 3 different LASIK centers for consultations and LA Sight was the clear choice. The office is wonderfully designed with midcentury modern flairs and very clean. All staff from receptionist to surgery coordinator to the doctors were all professional and accommodating throughout the entire experience. I felt taken care of from consultation to pre-op to surgery and post-op visits. It's been two weeks since my lasik surgery with Dr. Moarefi and all I can say is that I wish I did this sooner. My vision is so perfect that I keep forgetting that I have contacts in. I was always a bit nervous to get LASIK because of how scary it sounded and the possible complications it could come with. I decided to go for the consultation to see how it goes. The staff were very friendly and the parking was validated that day as well which was nice. Tiffany was really nice and explained the process so well she answered a majority of my questions before I could ask them. My vision was corrected to 20/20! On top of that, Dr.Wallace also corrected the astigmatism in my right eye. I had my LASIK surgery on April 6, only a few days after my initial consultation. I was beyond ready to have this surgery. My pre, during, and post-op experience was stellar! I could not possibly be happier with the results and the care I received from Dr. Wallace and everyone else at La Sight. Every team member at LA Sight was there for me every step of the way. Today is my first day after the LASIK surgery. It took me a second to open my eyes, and I teared up a little. But I gently dabbed my eyes with clean water first and then used the three kinds of eye drops prescribed, and that did the trick. I had to wait two minutes between eyedrop applications. To top it off, I am not experiencing any other common and expected minimal pain, minimal irritation, cloudy/blurry vision, feeling like there is something in the eyes, discomfort, burning, or temporary vision fluctuations. I must mention Jodi, the Surgery Coordinator, who was extremely helpful and discussed surgery costs and finances tactfully. If you have been putting your Lasik surgery off for a while, make that call and schedule your appointment! This surgery was my birthday present from myself to myself because I deserve it!
