My dad went in for lasik back in January 2025. The staff as we got there were very warm, kind and helpful as we checked in. The doctor took his time to explain the options available for his eyesight, since he was currently using bifocals. After allowing him some time to try it out and explaining in more depth to me about the options and the differences they set him up with a date. The pricing was fair and clear. Day of procedure was very straightforward with clear instructions and more thorough explanations of what to expect. The procedure went smoothly and quickly. After the surgery, there were no issues and we continued to post op check in about 3 months later where everything was also good. What an unbelievably great experience! From the moment I walked into the office the vibe was so calming and everyone was so nice. Genuinely nice. I arrived a few minutes early for my consultation, and didn't even have to wait to long. I was taken care by Steven, at first, who did a bunch of your regular eye exams. I recently had all LASIK eye surgery and like most people who have had it done say I wish I had done this sooner. I'm super near sighted and have been wearing glasses since the 2nd grade and RGP lenses for 15+ years of my life. For years I had to wait until my vision stabilized in my late 20s and 30s before getting considered for LASIK. My experience with LA Sight was very pleasant and lengthy do to follow-ups to ensure I was a good candidate. Because I was an RGP contact lens wearer I had to do a washout period for 30 days with soft lenses and then 3-5 days in glasses before surgery. Dr. Tabanfar and Dr. Tseng were such a pleasure to have looking at my eyes. The day of the surgery also went fast and smooth (only being an hour of my day) Dr. Moarefi answered any questions I had before the surgery and did a great job talking me through it and keeping me calm throughout the less than 10 minutes of surgery. The team also explained the after care and I went back in for a follow up appointment the next day. Aside from a little scratchy sensation right after surgery, I was able to see better right away and the next morning seeing 90-95% better. If you are viewing this on Yelp (I am putting this on Google as well), you might notice my review of another practice in March 2014, when I first had my cross-linking and INTACS done on my right eye. I think it is important to see the context as I have Keratoconus, and the original surgery did drastically improve my vision and allowed me to live a normal quality of life until this past July 2024, when I started having moderate to extreme discomfort and light sensitivity in my right eye. As my original surgeon who did the procedure retired years ago, I consulted with the surgeon who inherited me from my original surgeon. I spent six months trying to get answers, received none, and the condition of my right eye was worsening. Only through sheer luck, I was saved by Dr. Amir Moarefi and LA SIGHT as they wound up acquiring the practice of the surgeon (he retired) who was not able to help me for over six months, while I was suffering. Upon my first consultation, Dr. Moarefi immediately spotted the fact that my INTAC in my right eye in fact was now my worst enemy and was causing corneal erosion, which is why I was in such discomfort. He gave me a 25% chance that I could potentially keep in the INTAC, as we monitored my condition. I decided that I could not wait anymore and scheduled to have the INTAC removed. What should have been a routine procedure was anything but. While removing my INTAC, Dr. Moarefi discovered that the erosion was way worse than he originally thought, and the situation was extremely serious. Without realizing it, I had a hole in my cornea that was basically open to the air, and the INTAC was masking/plugging a leak in my eye. As Dr. Moarefi described it, my eye was a 'ticking time bomb'. My surgery was at 7pm on a Thursday, and once the INTAC was removed, Dr. Moarefi put me on an extreme antibiotic eye drop regiment, every 30 minutes, and used a contact lens bandage to try to ensure there was no further leak. I stayed up all night after surgery, applying eye drops every 30 minutes, and Dr. Moarefi personally opened the practice at 6am the following morning to see me and ensure that my condition had not worsened (leak or infection). Dr. Moarefi gave me his personal mobile (what doctor does that!?), and checked on me all night that first night and has been in consistent contact with me, throughout my entire recovery, to ensure that I am ok. My surgery was on January 30th, 2025, I am now writing this review almost a month from then. I have seen Dr. Moarefi six times since the surgery, and thankfully, luckily, I think I am going to essentially make a full recovery! I will never replace the original erosion in my right eye, but the human eye/body is amazing, so the epithelium basically replaces the erosion of the corneal tissue to protect the eye, best analogy I can give is like a divot in a golf course, you can only fill in the divot with grass. I am not exaggerating when I say I have never felt more cared for in the healthcare system in my life. If I had not been put in contact with Dr. Moarefi, I have no idea what would have happened to my right eye or quality of life. I am so lucky I feel I can simply write this review and thankfully look back on this horrible/scary time in my life, and that is only due to LA SIGHT. Dr. Moarefi and the team personally made me feel so cared for because I know they really do care. Scheduling follows-ups (all free btw) and coordinating pharmacy delivery of antibiotics with the team has been so easy, and they treat me like family. I am not BS'ing when I say I love them all for what they did for me, I feel they saved me because they really did. It is easy to be cynical about life and the healthcare system, especially with what is going on in the country right now, but Dr. Moarefi and LA SIGHT remind me and all of us that there are angels out there in the world, and some people/doctors just want to do the right thing for the right reasons, and there is nothing more to it. It goes without saying that Dr. Moarefi is clearly a BRILLIANT doctor, immediately spotted the issue; I will never forget what Dr. Moarefi and the team at LA SIGHT did for me, and I am sending them all my LOVE. My name is Jose Luis Soto. I want to start my story by saying that I was interested in improving my vision. First I went to NVISION and they diagnosed me for the PRK procedure in which they offered to improve my vision from 80% to 90% for distance vision and 70% to 80% for near vision, without any problem. However, I wanted to get a second opinion and ended up at the LASIGHT clinic located at 11600 Wilshire Blvd #200, Los Angeles, CA 90025. My first visit was on July 16, 2025. They asked me for a non-refundable deposit of $200.00, which was not applicable if the surgery was performed. That day the doctor checked my left eye, which is the eye that was going to have surgery, and he told me that I had an ocular lens and that the lens was misaligned, something I had never heard of. In the last 10 years I've seen more than 6 ophthalmologists and no one has diagnosed me with that; the truth is that I doubt it because I have never felt any discomfort regarding my left eye. And that was the only thing he told me and asked me regarding my left eye history. When I was talking to Dr. Amir Moarefi, I asked him the price of the surgery and if he could give me a discount, and he acted as if I had grabbed his mother's buttocks. With a sour face and a rude answer, he asked me if I thought he worked for free and I told him no. After responding very aggressively, I told him that it was fine; that I only asked a question and then he left the room with an attitude of if you do it well and if not, as if don't waste my time. But I paid for his time during that visit, so he had no right to treat me the way he did. So after all I felt offended and discriminated but even like that I agreed to do the LASIK procedure with him. When I ask him about the PRK procedure that NVISION offered me, he said that the process was very invasive and not suitable for me, and that the recovery time was very long. In other words, he spoke poorly of PRK even though he offers it on his website. On July 30, 2025, the day of the surgery finally came. The surgery took no more than 4 to 5 minutes while they moved me from one position to another. Then they took me to a room and finished preparing me to leave. Immediately, the doctor approached me and asked me why I hadn't told him that I had previously had LASIK surgery. I told him why he had never asked me, because as a professional, he should make sure to cover all the bases. Finally, they sent me home. I returned the next day and one of his assistants attended to me and said; Oh, the doctor noticed that you had previously had surgery, but the doctor performed your surgery without any complications, everything went perfectly. And I told the assistant that that surgery was done 10 years ago. My next appointment was 05/08/2025, this time I was seen by Dr. Amir Moarefi and the first thing he asked me was why I hadn't told him about my previous surgery, but I had already answered that before. Afterwards, he did the routine tests to verify the results of LASIK, unfortunately, the results were not as promised, as expected. Then the doctor got furious and started blaming me because I didn't tell him about my previous surgery and he also blamed my implant claiming that it was misaligned. So I asked myself if he knew I had all those risks, so why he agreed to do the surgery or maybe he just wanted to fill his quota. He also told me that he knew what kind of person I was and that he knew who I was and where I came from. A he said I'M DONE WITH YOU" I was stunned to hear a so-called professional speak that way. My last visit was on September 17, 2025, when I was seen by his assistant. I felt like they were trying to convince me that everything went well, but I told her the truth about the surgery: nothing went well. And she asked me again about the misaligned ocular lens and the 10-year-old LASIK, as if using it as an excuse. Finally, she told me, "Well, I think you're going to have to wear glasses to see far and near." She offered me another visit in 2 to 3 months, but that won't restore my vision. I didn't accept. In conclusion, my vision is worse than before near & far away, this is an office that is led by Dr. Amir Moarefi, an arrogant and rude guy who thinks he knows everything, and I don't think he'll know me in less than an hour, in my total time visits. His website seems legit, but in my opinion, the way it's structured is to attract people like me, possibly, and God only knows how many people have been disappointed by this guy.
