It's not a STAR station which is fine as long as it's not required from DMV. I especially like how there are signs & arrows directing you where to drive, stop your car & wait, then the owner comes out and directs you to drive forward, takes the DMV paperwork, and you go wait in the office. A lot of places are kind of confusing, and you don't know if anyone's going to come out to greet you or if you need to go in. But not here - it's all clearly marked. The smog test itself is approx 10 minutes, I waited in my car before that for maybe 15 minutes, so the whole thing took about half an hour. This was 11am on a Tuesday. And there were two people ahead of me. The owner is very friendly, and keeps things moving.

Jimmy and LA Smog Test were truly helpful to me . My car failed the first test but Jimmy told me that if the car did not pass I could come back and have it redone for only $10. A week later I returned after servicing the car and it passed! Jimmy was very polite, respectful and courteous, giving me bottled water while I waited. I had just bought a new battery. So the guy (Jimmy) told me to come back. He didn't fully charge me for the second time. Only $11 for the retest. So folks, if your battery is new, make sure it has 100 miles on it or it will not pass the test. But this place doesn't double charge. So that's something. read more

I have an older car & it failed the test. Jimmy allowed me to retest for free even though it took much longer for the repair shop (not Jimmy) to diagnose and fix the problem . The time limit had expired, however, Jimmy still helped me by retesting the car and this time it passed. Thank you ! read more

I left the facility disheartened and I will probably never go again because a young man said that I would do something illegal with my vehicle once I got smogged.
