Julie and her staff are amazing. My child's speech improved significantly with her expertise.

Everybody loves Julie. Including me. Especially me. She saved us during the pandemic when I was stressing out about my 18 month old not speaking and not signing, with no way of seeing therapists in person. She was the only one who responded to me since clearly, the pandemic has done a number on many other babies/toddlers as well and every speech practice was slammed. I found her through Yelp as well as personal recommendations from other parents so I already knew she was dependable and trustworthy. On top of that, she is personable, funny, and most importantly, responsive. She reached out to Kaiser's staff speech therapist on our behalf in order to get us switched over from the vendor we were originally referred to, which was such a lifesaver because if you have any experience with Kaiser, you'd know you can never get in touch with anyone directly. She got everything sorted for us and within a couple of weeks (which again, is super fast in Kaiser world), we were scheduled to start Zoom with Ms Amy. We loved her but Zoom with a taby (toddler baby) is what it is - limited. But we were hopeful about more progress in-person and had hoped to continue with Ms Amy once STP reopened but the scheduling just didn't work out. We were a little nervous and hesitant to go with Ms Reanna in person but omg looking back, it was all wasted energy. My taby loved (still loves) Reanna passionately (sometimes to the point where I wonder if...more than me??) Ms. Reanna is just the perfect mix of fun, discipline, and patience for her. She is firm when she needs to be (which was often back then) and is silly and creative when the session allows for it. We have been going to speech for almost 2 yrs and have seen other therapists (who have all been great as well) at STP due to scheduling but she will always prefer Reanna. We went from having fears that she would be non-verbal to now not being able to get her to stop talking. She just will notstoptalking lol. And as a parent, that is both joyful and stressful but I digress. The tools that we have learned at STP and the people that we have met here are worth staying up and writing a long review about. Because Julie and her team deserve all the credit and accolades. Most of all, they deserve to know how much their clients appreciate them and they deserve more families to love on as well. read more

One year of weekly therapy - both remotely and in person. My daughter blossomed into herself and can communicate so well. We started at 20 months using signs and 5 spoken words (12 month level), and today she is talking in paragraphs. Both Julie and Amy were amazing, helpful, and so supportive. We loved our time at STP! The new location is lovely and so convenient - ample parking and easily accessible. Highly recommend! read more

Julie and her team area amazing! My son, Atlas, switches between Julie and Reanna. He seems to love both of the therapists. The first couple times he wanted me to walk in and sit for a moment but now he just trots off and waves at me. He's made some pretty large improvements in just the month that he's been attending. My son was a little behind in his speech and needed tubes in his ears and his adenoids removed (for reference). Once this was accomplished he started STP and they've been working with him. He now tries to speak more often, signs at us, and seems overall happier. He's a happier dude now! I'd gladly recommend Julie and her team to others. Julie has been working with my child since 2012 and she has been a God send!!! My daughter Sophia is a brain cancer survivor and has been through most than anyone ever should in their life. Because of her traumatic medical history, Sophia doesn't trust easily, but she and Julie had an instant connection!! Julie is extremely patient, caring, upbeat and loves what she does. Julie is constantly looking for ways to help Sophia. Unlike many other therapists who have evaluated and treated my daughter, Julie believes in her and knows she can do more than what the professionals " expect". Sophia is also blind because of the cancer but Julie didn't shy away from my daughter. Any child typically learns by " seeing" and Julie didn't let that stop her from wanting to help Sophia learn to speak. Although Sophia is not yet speaking, thanks to Julie, she is communicating through sign language. Julie and Reanna are amazing. We started my 18 mo old there due to a expressive delay. He started with only like 2 words (everything was Ba and Da) and we just just discharged and he is speaking so well! We are having full on conversations with him (he just turned 2) and he is so funny and witty and talks our ears off. He also LOVES Reanna and asks pretty much everyday to "go see Reanna" or "want to hug Reanna" and when we drive by the building he always says "want to see Reanna Mama!". I am a PT, and I am very picky re who I choose for rehab needs, and the team at STP has been amazing. So happy to have found them, and they really helped our family. I absolutely love and are grateful for all that comes along with speech therapy partners. Especially my sons therapist who has got him speaking more than ever now. Julie is amazing! My 2 year old daughter is very picky about people she likes. She'll easily ignore anyone she doesn't jive with and there's little that can be done about it. So, suffice it to say, I was uneasy going into our first session. But wow! My daughter loved Miss Julie! Miss Julie is upbeat, happy, and full of energy. She has a great ability to be both happy & fun while still setting boundaries and getting my daughter to work without any problems. She has been instrumental in my daughter's language development. Sessions are fun and full of laughter - but also full of invaluable lessons. Even though I have to pay for her services out of pocket, I continue to take my daughter to Miss Julie because she is the best. I've taken my girl to other speech therapists, but my daughter did not like them, and I also felt they were just not up to par with Miss Julie. She really is amazing! My son was 2 yrs and 3 mos when he joined STP. We chose this place because of the 5 star reviews. At that time my son didn't talk much. We were hoping that we could get Ms. Julie due to a good number of positive reviews on her. However, my son was assigned to another therapist. This therapist had no experience in the field. She didn't know what to do with my son. She kept on going over the same activities every time my son was there. Also, she cancelled on us many times due to personal issues. One time my son had a substitute therapist because his therapist called out. The substitute knew exactly what to do with my son. My son listened to her and participated more. After that session, we requested Ms Julie to reassign him with the substitute but unfortunately the substitute was about to leave that place to open up her own practice. We asked Julie if any other therapists could take him. We would prefer to have him follow other therapists who could possibly help him. She said everyone else was all full. Julie didn't seem to care and wasn't very helpful to accommodate our need. Julie also said either stay with the current therapist or go on the waitlist for another therapist which could take months or go somewhere else. Julie used to be very nice at the beginning but after we brought up our concern, she changed her attitude toward us. She was very unhelpful and somewhat rude. We decided to join another place. My son got along well with the new therapist. After 3 months of going there, my son started to talk more. We see big improvement from him. We just regretted that we had wasted 4 to 5 months at STP. My son could have learned more from the new place instead learning nothing from STP. read more

Julie Carillo is an angel sent from heaven! She is the best speech therapist we have seen hands down. She motivates our daughter and pulls stuff out of her I have never seen before. She truly has helped my daughter so much! She is energetic and if something doesn't work she tries something new until she can get Carter ready to work. Ms. Lo did a speech and language assessment for our daughter (3yo) at the request of our counselor. Ms. Lo was prompt, thorough and extremely professional. She was charming, engaging and vivacious and was able to keep our 3 yo focused for the entire hour long evaluation. At this time our child does not require speech services but should we require these services in the future we will definitely contact Ms. Lo again. read more

I started taking my son to Miss Julie in June of 2012 when I moved from NY to SOCAL. Upon meeting her she was thee ABSOLUTE sweetest.... My son who was 2 at the time took to her right away. At that first meeting my son spoke 2 words, thats it... just 2 words... Today which is over a year and 2 months later he is speaking in 5,6,7 word sentences.... I owe this all to the FABULOUS Miss Julie... She is educated, organized and focused, warm and caring, SUPER funny, and an all around AMAZING speech therapist and person. I can't express my gratitude enough to Julie Carrillo, one of the speech pathologists in this group. My grandson @ 2 1/2 yrs. old could not form one word. After making no progress with another therapist, we took him to his first appt. with Julie. My daughter and I cried after seeing what she accomplished with him that visit. After two sessions a week and a year later,we agreed with her that his speech was age appropriate; that he no longer needed therapy.
