Didn't have dinner here but came here every night we were in position for drinks and appetizers at the champagne bar. Cannot begin to express how beautiful the views from the outdoor patio are. Servers were very prompt with our orders and the drinks were delightful and well made. Hands down my favorite dining experience of my entire life! The service was exquisite. Right when we sat down we received a choice of complimentary wine or champagne. Each course came with a free sample of food, all of which was all absolutely delicious! They also had two charming men come around to each table and sing well known songs. La Sponda at Le Sirreneuse delivers a wonderful atmosphere with impeccable service, but felt a bit too touristy for my liking. This is where everyone wears their chicest outfit they packed away in their suitcase and spends more for a glass of champagne than they did for their hotel room. The wine selection was impressive, the service 5 star, and the meal (while not spectacular), was the best dinner we had on the Amalfi coast. read more

Did not stay here, but had an amazing day at the spa with the hubby on our last day in Positano (and last day of a 2-week vacation in Italy). We got the tropical couples' package, which started out with a sugar/salt scrub, followed by a dreamy Turkish shower and then the steam room, which was a bit too hot for us to tolerate; both the shower and steam room were attached to the couple's treatment room so we didn't have to trounce around the spa. Then, had a 50-minute massage, which was the perfect blend between good pressure and relaxation. The treatment was rounded out with a 30-minute mini-facial. We were provided with tea, flavored water, and snacks throughout the treatment. A lovely, luxurious day. Would definitely recommend this spa. read more

The service was amazing, waiter kept checking with us non-stop and the flurry of staff assiting with everything was amazing. Extremily frendly staff was very interested about how we liked the food. My husband and I went to Positano for our honeymoon and for our first night, we wanted to go somewhere special. Prior to the trip, I tried making a reservation at La Sponda probably 2-3 months before our trip. I was put on the waiting list! I think the restaurant tries to make sure the hotel guests are able to eat first before any outsiders come in. I called that day to see if they had any openings. The woman was very nice and said that I was the first person on the waiting list, but as of now they were booked for the night. I let her know it was our honeymoon and we would love to celebrate there and she let me know she would call me immediately if there was an opening. We went to Franco's Bar, the bar at Le Sirenuse hotel (where La Sponda is located) to get drinks before dinner hoping we would be receiving a call. Luckily, we did! They were able to seat us at 9pm which was fine with us. They light 400 candles every night in their dining room. It is so romantic. We felt like we were so special. The wait staff was so attentive, grabbing my purse, pulling out my chair, putting my napkin on my lap. They had a person who specialized in everything; one for wine, one for bread, one for appetizers, one for entrees. It truly was a great dining experience. They had musicians playing music all night long too. Yes, the dinner was quite expensive, but we would come back again in a heart beat. The service was excellent and the food was DELICIOUS. They bring it out nice and slow which we didn't mind because everything we ate was just so good. read more

This is the restaurant with the best view in town. The staff is great. It is a high class restaurant for a reason. The food is delicious however it is very pricey. We ordered a seafood platter with all different fish and shell fish. It was well prepared and their wine expert recommended us great wines based on our preference, mine being red wine and my wife being white wine. Apparently a lot of celebrities stay at this hotel and therefore eat a this restaurant. read more

By far the most amazing, beautiful place we have ever been. The staff gets to know your name and your breakfast order, the rooms are cleaned 2-3x/day, the view is incredible, and the service is top notch. Lounging by the pool around 3pm you'll find refreshing ice creams passed out along with swift cocktail service. The oyster bar makes you feel famous for a night. Obviously super pricey everywhere you turn, but TOTALLY worth it. I would return again and again and again. read more

This is between a 3.5 and a 4. Service, ambience, wine selection, and views should get 5 stars and above! The wine was outstanding and the sommelier did an amazing job recommending a wine for our food selections. The food however, left something to be desired. It was decent but didn't wow us. We had the octopus starter which was quite good, but our main dishes weren't what we were expecting from a Michelin rated restaurant. Hubs had the mushroom pasta (a special for the night) and I had the John Dory. They were both just ok. They were cooked pretty well but there was something missing. We were expecting knock-your-socks-off flavor but it missed the mark. Everything was a little on the bland side. Nonetheless, the hotel itself deserves more than 5 stars...it's spectacular! read more

Stopped in here for lunch (Sunday 8/16/15). It wasn't very busy but we had to be seated inside because we were not guests of the hotel and we didn't make reservations (there were literally 20 open tables outside!). The food was good. Me and my husband split the caprese appetizer. I got a tomato soup with a spoonful of ricotta cheese on top, and my husband got linguini with clams. We didn't order any dessert but they brought us a complimentary dish of mini cookies. They also gave us a complementary mini eggplant appetizer each. My husband said that it was the best linguini and clams he has ever had (he is 100% Italian and has had it many times so it must have been quite delicious). The ricotta on my soup was insanely delicious!!! Though the food was good, the value was not. We spent 100 Euros on lunch (me and my husband spare no expense on food in Italy, however, for what we got it was not worth the price). Total, I think I may have gotten a cup of soup. The caprese appetizer was maybe a full tomato with 6 small mozzarella balls. My husband thought his portion was a perfect lunch size portion. Each plate averaged about 30 Euro. We didn't even get any wine. The staff was very attentive and constantly checked-in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. Throughout lunch, me and my husband ate over 2 baskets of bread. I think if I didn't fill up on bread I still would have been hungry when we left! read more

Great hotel and loved their restaurant!! We stayed at Le Sirenuse in July but didn't find it too be too busy. Wish we could have stayed longer but we were headed to Capri. Service was impeccable. We had dinner there one night and it was possibly one of the best meals we've every had. Breakfast buffet was great too. The pool is on the smaller side but most hotels Positano don't have very large pools. Even if you don't stay there, I would definitely recommend for dinner. It's an amazing place and the view is breathtaking. read more

One of the most beautiful views in one of the most beautiful places! The food was also spectacular, and the service impeccable. Came here for lunch to enjoy the beautiful view after a recommendation. You MUST go here if you are in Positano, and if you dont plan to go to Positano you should! We started out with some prosecco and they bring out a riccota dumpling in fish soup appetizer, which was very small but spectacular. I had a caprese salad to start with, and the mozzarella was some of the best I have ever tasted in my life. I had the fish and seafood with vegetables as my main course. It had 3 different types of fish- dorado, sea bream, and sea bass. All cooked perfectly, and so fresh! The sea bass practically melted in my mouth! It also had some shrimp, great squid, with chopped eggpland, and zucchini, and other veggies. So amazing! Someone I was with had the red snapper which was so fresh and amazing!! We split the hazelnut gelato for dessert that was so fresh and had huge chunks of hazelnut. They brought out a variety of cookies and limoncello shots for us for dessert. A perfect end to a perfect meal. I need to come back here ASAP. read more

I would give this place 3.5 stars, but can't justify 4 stars. The atmosphere, service, and views are terrific, but there is something missing with the food. The food is good, but doesn't blow you away as a Michelin star restaurant should. We had mackerel, which was great, seafood pasta (which was lukewarm and had literally 8 pieces of seafood), John Dory (which was good, but not great), and desert which was way too complicated. While we are happy that we tried it, there are much better options in Positano. read more

We usually stay at the spectacular Il San Pietro di Positano which is at the top of the hill overlooking all of Positano's beauty. When my husband suggested trying Le Sirenuse, I was opposed because I couldn't imagine anything better then my favorite. Whereas Il San Pietro di Positano overlooks the quaint and lovely Positano with fabulous rooms, amenities and views, Le Sirenuse is right in the middle of all the exciting action. Walk out of the hotel and you are smack in the middle of shops, restaurants, people, the beach, the beauty, all within walking distance of your hotel. It is magnificent and well worth every penny!!! The restaurant deserves five starts. The location is gorgeous, the views spectacular, the service is attentive and the ambiance and presentation stunning. Very underwhelming and disappointing. We booked this venue specifically as part of our honeymoon celebration, and everything from the service to food is subpar to poor at best, with a healthy mark up on prices across the board. We have dined in many similar venues living in NYC, as well as across the states and elsewhere in Italy and the coast. I suppose if you enjoy spending $200 - $500+ for entrees that include 4 small squares / cubes of lamb (not exaggerating) for example, poor and slow service, and general disregard when you express the disappointment, then this might be for you, but I would stay far away, save your money, and eat elsewhere where you get better food that matches the prices and expectations. Also, the staff is generally rude all around, which is a nice addition on top of everything else :) I have heard from others if you complain enough, they will take some effort, but clearly it must be extreme, as expressing this in person to them is simply brushed off with a disingenuous smile.
