Maybe it's just because I'm so sick of Italian food this week, but I'm giving it 3 stars. maybe like 3.75. And I never get sick of Italian food because it's my FAVORITE but...Anyway. Came here with a huge party (about 45+) for work. Good place for a group. The seating arrangement was rather odd; they sat us all in a long long line of tables, two on each side. My co-worker described it as the Last Supper. I laughed. The bar is small but cute in the front. They have a decent amount of wine by the glass (note: I didn't see a wine list since I was in a large party). Once seated we had really good service; no excessive waiting, which was surprising for a large party. Ordered a few bottles of wine. Had the parmesan bread with warm spinach, olives, roasted bell peppers...it was good. The spinach was REALLY fresh and I loved it. I'll upload a pic soon. The salad was good. Again, fresh mixed greens. A little heavy on the dressing, but not too bad. It also had some hard chunks of cheese; I think it as parmesan. And some salami, which I think it could have done without. Next up: Fried Mozzarella. Better than a typical friend mozzarella since it was soaked in a nice marinara sauce instead of served dry with a dipping sauce. I guess logistically they had a hunk of mozzarella, then sliced it, breaded it, and fried it. These were not mozzarella sticks...Next up: a garlicky penne type pasta with broccoli. That was light and fresh. We also had the gnocchi. The tomato sauce was really good. Eggplant Parmesan next. Skipped that - not normally a fan. Then Chicken Marsala. That was good too. It was almost like I was in some region of Italy since it was served in courses. You know, when they give you the meat separately and the veggies separate, and pasta separate. So nothing is ever really on your plate at the same time. Not sure if it was just because we were in such a large party. Other family style places give you everything relatively together. Anyway. Nice place for a group. I'm sure I'll be back when I'm in town! read more

Food is excellent. Service continues to suffer. Was seated on their outdoor (barely enclosed) patio during the recent Polar Vortex - you know, those days it was barely 8 degrees? Let's just say, even with their heat pumping into the patio, a heavy coat was required for dinner. To make matters worse, I sit down and immediately my pants are soaking wet (not my doing!). I stand up to realize there is a hole in the patio enclosure and snow had been melting and dripping onto my seat. We took it upon ourselves to move to the next table, and when the server arrived we explained why we moved our seat. No apology, just a reply of "it's okay, that table is also set for 2" - as in, we moved ourselves to an appropriate alternate dining location - no mention or concern about me sitting in a freezing puddle. I'm not looking for freebies because the dining room is freezing and I got a wet bum from sitting on their chair. However, most dining establishments of this caliber would offer a free appetizer or dessert in addition to an apology from not only the server, but the manager. I guess the food is good enough we keep coming back, even though we are constantly disappointed in their service. This is one of those places I'll come back to for the gnocchi which is my favorite, however I will NO LONGER bring friends, family, or business partners. P.S. This place is always a hit or miss for me. I know it's been to known to be a "cougar happy hour" spot. FYI for anyone that's interested. Last time I came here I split a penne vodka and the gnocchi and the calamari. All were amazing and perfectly cooked. I came the other day ordered one of their specials, "lime alfredo fettucine" and it was awful. I imagined in my head fresh cooked fettucine noodles with an alfredo sauce with some lime zest. Wrong. The noodles were all stuck together in little bundles, there was no alfredo, just some oil wanna be lime vinagerette thing with way too many cherry tomatoes and shrimp. What a disappointment! I would definitely rename that dish. But I tried these mozarella ball things in tomato sauce on the appetizers and it was very good. read more

Great food, good service. We went around the holidays again this year and it was packed. This was our 3rd time there in the last year and a half. They really accommodated us with a late reservation. However, no one checked on us during appetizers and we needed water and bread. Same thing during dinner. My meal was good but they forgot my wife's side of pasta and she was out of water. By the time she got it she was pretty much done with her entrée. Could be just a short staffed / busy night and we're not going to hold it against them, could just be they need to have a server/runner assigned to water refills. Either way, we'll definitely go back. One more BIG thing: You really need to install a changing table in your bathroom. Your bathrooms (M and F) are big enough. You have no idea what a big deal not having a changing table is to parents trying to keep it together on a night out. We had to change our kid in the car on a freezing cold night. Please consider installing them in your bathrooms. Anyone visiting with a small child will REALLY REALLY appreciate it. read more

Tonight was my first time here and I had heard great things. To tell you the truth, it exceeded my expectations! Everything was delicious! We got the homemade meatball and scallops wrapped in bacon (chef's special appetizer lid the night) and both were great! We got chicken parm, vodka penne, the steak and chicken Marsala - everyone loved their meal! And creme brûlée to top it off which was to die for! Great meal, will definitely be back!! read more

What an amazing place. My friend just had her bridal shower here today and I couldn't have envisioned a better day for her! All thanks to the beautiful atmosphere, amazing food, and excellent service. Our waiter (I'm sorry I didn't get his name) was so attentive of everyone's orders of drinks. The staff was friendly and the water was constantly replenished (something so minor but makes a huge impact). My waiter even noticed that I wasn't eating the dishes being brought out and came to me to ask if I had any dietary restrictions. After telling him I'm currently doing the keto diet he made sure to bring me a keto friendly salad and informed the chef who then accommodated my meal of chicken. We booked for a private event. This was my first event with my new company. The staff were wonderful and the food was outstanding. I stopped in Saturday before meeting a friend in Newtown. The staff was friendly and they seemed to know a lot of their customers. This is typically a good sign for me, as poorly run eateries rarely ever last long. The restaurant is cozy and there were a lot of people there at the time. The front area and the bar area get pretty tight after 6pm. The menu consists mostly of Italian standards. There were a few exceptions. Overall, the quality of the food and the ingredients was good. However, most of the dishes are a bit heavy-handed for my taste. They are a bit "bulky", as in too much food. The extra ingredients make the main ingredient disappear (my chicken had too much mozzarella and too many stalks of asparagus. Overall, however, the dish was good. The service is great and the staff is very friendly and attentive. I would be ok with less food and more attention to the details as far as the food. read more

We actually had a party of 20 people and ordered the following dinner package: - Appitizers: Special Garlic Bread (comes with tender mushrooms and grilled jalapinio peppers, interesting taste but good) + Tender Calamari battered and fried (taste a bit mild but it comes with salsa dip) - Traditional Ceasar Salad (good) - 2 kinds of pastas (red and white) - 3 meaty dishes: pan-seared pork chops (with grilled hot cherry peppers and tender mushrooms, all veggines are surprisingly spicy and hot, very interesting!), Veal (breaded and pan fried), and Chicken (breaded and pan fried) - Desert Platter (ice cream, banana split, and slice of fruit pies) - Australian Wine If I have to say something less satisfactory that would be the restroom, only one toilet seat in each restroom considering a restaurant with a capacity of approximately 100+- people. read more

nice interior, good food but the manager put on a show... me and my boyfriend went out for dinner (we came in for a later dinner at 9ish pm). There was a decent amount of people in the restaurant (20ish customers all together -in the indoor section. more were seated outdoors, so the business was definitely still poppin). the bus boys, amazing. our waiter, sweetest man. the food - yum. as we start eating our main course we start to hear a woman start yelling at 2 workers. Later to find out that it was the manager yelling. I would inturupt my boyfriend and just stop, turn my head and make sure everything was ok.. she went off at them for 5ish minutes, i literally started to get an uneasy feeling. i felt so bad for these guys- knowing whatever happened, they shouldnt be treated like that in a professional environment. and this is me... a customer... who is paying for the meal & the experience.. nonetheless.. She then goes on to host a meeting in a room nearby where we sat and collectively got more workers and further continued. She ended up cooling down but what was suppose to be our nice dinner date, at an upscale restaurant was us sitting and genuinely feeling bad for the workers there with her freaking out. In an "upscale" restaurant.. even IF something is going south... pull aside the workers AWAY from the clients and maybe .. idk ... conversate? instead of yelling so loud, interrupting them where as the customers start to feel anxious and caught off guard. definitely not a romantic dinner that we hoped of.. read more

Used my living social coupon to have a special lunch with my gal friend. It's always a wonderful atmosphere and not too busy at lunchtime. I had the pasta puttanesca that was out of this world with, bursting with flavors. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich and was very happy along with a nice glass of wine. The owner seated two of his friends / regular's before our party and another party that was waiting with us at the bar when we were there on Friday night. Not only did the owner walk up to the hostess and say these are my friends seat them ahead of everyone, he was drinking and parting with his friends in the corner directly behind the hostess station. He could have cared less about paying customers. He kept bragging to everyone that his grandmothers 90th birthday was tonight. As a customer, I really don't care that your having a family party at your location, what i do care about is being treated like a second class citizen who's money isn't green. And I can assure you, mine is green but LA Stalla will not be seeing anymore of my money anytime soon. Check out the saloon a 1/4 mile away, much better food and much better service. read more

I've eaten here once and bought take out. The food and table service was very good. My problem with La Stalla is that they only take phone reservations but you sit on hold for 5 to 10 minutes at a minimum. I've called numerous times for dinner reservations, pricing for an event and ordering take out and each time I've had to wait on hold for minutes. The worst example was on 12/23/21 (date I'm writing this review) when I called to make reservations and sat on hold for 9 mins and 32 sec. I hung up thinking that they forgot the call. Called again, immediately they put you on hold without even asking if you can hold. I waited another 6 mins and 59 sec and then hung up. Called again and was immediately put on hold. I hung up and called again and it went right into the circular recording about waiting. It's ridiculous. So, going someplace else for dinner. If they can't staff enough people to take phone reservations, they should consider using an app like Open Table. read more

Dinner started out great,wonderful fried calamari,main courses were delicious too, I had linguini with flesh clam sauce and my fiancé had a delicious bow tie pasta dish with fra Diablo sauce and shrimp. Where it started to go wrong was we both got wine, mine was a sparking moscato. I drank 4 sips and then a bug flew into my cup. I asked the waiter to take away my drink and take it off the bill. A blonde woman who never introduced herself came over and asked how we liked dinner, said she heard about our mishap and was taking my wine off the bill. I said thank you. We ordered dessert to share a chocolate soufflé and I got a de caffeinated coffe and my fiancé got an expression. The presentation of the desert looks lovely, however when we built into soufflé it was so overcooked it seemed like it was microwaved it was supposed to have a liquid center it was hard and dry it out and could hardly be cut. We tried to eat it got to the center completely dried out. I asked the waiter to come over and I took my fork and bounce it off the top of my dessert showing him it was hard as a rock and asked him to return it to the chef. At that point that same blonde woman who again did not introduce yourself came over to my table and asked me about my dessert when I told her it was horrible and completely overcooked she said it's supposed to be a soufflé with a liquid setter I said there was nothing liquid in that desert it was horrible so she said she would go back to the kitchen and investigate didn't take my word for it had to go and look disappeared for a few minutes came back and said there was some kind of mishap in the kitchen and that yes indeed the desert was not done correctly she offered to make me another one but my date and myself did not want another one we asked her to remove the coffees from our bill she said I already removed the desert I said of course you removed the dessert, it was terrible. She said what was wrong with the coffee I said nothing was wrong with the coffee I think you should remove it from our bill as a courtesy. She said he drank half of your wine and I removed your wine from the bill you ate almost half of your dessert and I remove the desert from your bill and I offered to make you another one I'm not going to take the coffee is off. I said OK thank you and paid my bill. So I gave it to stores for the horrible service and the absolutely a palling person in management who should have definitely given us the desserts in the coffee gratis and apologized and not have been snotty and not have made us defend a terrible dining experience at the end and it was all because of the worst service I've had in years and the waiter never came back and apologized either. read more

Really should be 3.5 since it's Newtown, but the food is only "A-OK". 3 dishes we got were the tortellini & bolognese, penne carbonara, and linguine w/ clams in white wine sauce. The first 2 were good, in fact the carbonara was delicious, but the linguine was a let down due to lack of flavor. Was our first time here. Let me tell you omg this place was amazing. Fro. The moment we walked in the door. The inside is so beautiful and rustic and just homey feeling. My dinner was hands dow the best pasta dish ever. I can't explain the taste except was like little pasta pillow of heaven for my tastebuds. The ricotta definitely didn't taste like a store brand that's heavy and strong taste. The pasta you could tell was homemade and light. And now that sauce on it omg my tastebuds were in love. You most definitely must try this place. We will definitely be back. Our waiter I wish I remember his name. Sorry my mouth was in heaven and I was in my own world. And I never finish my whole dinner when out..nope not this time I ate every last bite. There was no way I was letting this heavenly dish get reheated..I usually dont rave like this but these chefs omg I wish took pictures of his food. Enjoyed dinner here with a friend using a Living Social Deal - What a treat! Their prices are a bit high, but the food and the atmosphere certainly delivers. I had the Bucatini San Daniel - which is a Bucatini pasta sauteed with prosciutto di Parma, walnuts and crabmeat, tossed in a white wine sauce topped with fresh arugola. I can't begin to describe how much I enjoyed my meal! Everything was fresh and delicious - and they had a great selection of wines to pair with dinner. The waitstaff was also ready to refill our bread basket and glasses of water right away. I like my Italian food to feature seafood or interesting ingredients - so their more affordable offerings aren't all that appealing to me - but I'll definitely be back here to celebrate something special or if they're listed for Living Social again for sure! Til then, I'll be more likely to sit down at Cosmos or Piccolo Trattoria. Be sure to make reservations if you're headed to La Stalla on the weekend, and be ready to search for parking! Eh- A bit overrated in my opinion. Nice atmosphere but the food is average and overpriced. I ate here on Friday night and we ordered fried calamari which was undercooked and tasted strange. The rolls tasted old like the kind you can get at BJ's. Entrees were tasty and enjoyable but I really think for the price the quality is average at best. Crazy delicious. The calimari is as tender as pasta. So good. Service was great, overall food was amazing. We had the private wine room in the back, which is decorated with hundreds of wine boxes had a really warm, cozy feel. This is probably my favorite Italian Restaurant in Bucks County and it even rivals those of my childhood in the NYC area....Amazing!! Even my Mom with her Italian roots found it so authentic and amazing!! You should go but try to call ahead because seating is tight especially on weekend nights!!
