Second dish we ordered was Cotoletta alla Milanese- Veal Milanese- pan fried veal cutlet. Veal was crispy on the outside and meat was tender on the inside with great seasoning. It was a delicious meal in Milan, Italy. This Trattoria was cleaned and well maintained with friendly waiters. Felt like family eating style restaurant with good ambiance and service. It appears that this is the Sardi's of Milan - portraits of Italian celebrities cover the wall all over and the food passes muster to match the star power. I was first brought a basket of bread but no accompanying olive oil. The bread was basically good but i waited until I had plates to scrape up sauce and oil from for the bread. My first dish was a Spaghetti with anchovies which was quite delicious. The pasta may have been a tad bit *too* al dente even for me, and I like it al dente! My second dish was the Veal Piccata with Artichoke. They brought me a Veal Piccata with Olives instead - which was not on the menu....but in my confusion I found that an earlier verison of the menu had it Pizzaola style - tomato-sauce with olives. That's not on their current menu though so when I asked them where the artichokes were, pointing to an image from their digital menu, they said no more and removed the plate and in a few instant minutes later brought me exactly what I ordered. The artichokes were broiling hot, obviously they rushed this together but it was tasty. I finished off with a Pasteria Napoletana from the dessert display case. It was all good. I don't know if I'd necessarily come back though as I had higher expectations of the food and the service, though. But worth trying once!

We got the eggplant crispy and a side of spaghetti with marinara. The sauce was wonderful and the eggplant was huge and the cheese was excellent but the sauce was the star. The crème brûlée- this was the amazing part of the meal. Not a typical brulee. There was no sugar crust. It had a fruit reduction on the plate and fruit on top and was a wonderful custard. Our friends got the lasagna and said it was one of the best ever. They also got the salad with chicken breast and it was huge. They had the tiramisu for desert and it was excellent. Oh should also mention that while waiting for my food, I got served x2 kinds of bread with Olive oil and then I also spotted a spicy oil, which I tried - both oils were very nice, but bread wise, I preferred the focaccia to the brown bun. So if I had stopped there, this would have been a 5-star review, but I ordered dessert, which wasn't frankly all that great. I would suggest not even getting the dessert menu at all, as it's filled with the best kind of food-porn photography and u need to be strong to resist. I got the Cheesecake Brule and it tasted super sweet -the caramel felt like the consistency of plastic to my tongue and the whole slice tasted vaguely industrial. Her Rosoto was aldente, which I love and the pasta was surrounded with a creamy saffron sauce.
