On of our favorite lunches we had in Milano. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside as you approach it, but it's super cute inside. More importantly was the food. Our antipasti was two dishes, polpo (we are suckers for octopus done right), and burrata (also suckers for this cheese too). Both were terrific and did their job...to open the appetite. Our primi was a linguine for me, and tagliatelle for my wife. Both were just outstanding. Didn't have a secondi or dolce because we were already stuffed to the gills for lunch. The osso bucco was fabulous itself. The side of something like rice with yellow sauce was interesting, but hard to digest. The service was ok, but not great. Had to remind the waiter twice about two things, and the drinks were slow in coming, despite only having only eight other diners at that moment. Our hotel concierge suggested this restaurant which is located in a small alley across from near the San Bablio square and subway station. We got there for lunch at around 2 and both upstairs and downstairs were nearly packed. It has a clean, welcoming ambience. The interior walls are lined with large black & white portraits of Hollywood stars, including of course Sophia Loren, from a bygone era. The waiter spoke fluent English and service was good. The freshly made pasta came out piping hot and was quite tasty and well made. My companion ordered the ragu ( essentially bolognese and I an off menu basic AOP (charged as a primi €12). There are two versions of this place, one a high-end restaurant the other this (almost fast food type). Not a fan of the second. We thought we had reservations at the high-end place, but upon entering ( not dressed appropriately), were sent on our way to the casual version. The food was AVERAGE, really nothing to get excited about. Pasta average, prosciutto de parma average, and the antipasto average. Would really like to try the upscale verson next time I visit Milan. read more

Tucked away behind the LV store. The waiters here didn't speak great English so it was a bit hard to communicate. It was our first meal in Milan so we just went with what we wanted. We ordered the clam pasta and a sausage and ricotta pizza. The clams and mussels tasted a bit off but it might just be the flavor here? The pizza was too soft and it didn't hold up after a few minutes on the table. I would recommend ordering the Milanese cutlet, from the looks of the table next to us, they thoroughly enjoyed every last piece. read more

I seriously cant explain how wonderful this restaurant was. The waiter was very nice, spoke english, and the Food? AMAZING!! I swear before we even finished, my wife and I had agreed we were coming back before we left Milan. We had some homemade pasta with pesto sauce, potatoes and green beans. Then chicken with spinach. It was all so yummy. And how could i forget the foccia for appetizer. Now my mom makes her own foccia at home but this was different. it didnt have sauce on it but The olive oil on them made it so delicious. There are two restaurants called Paper Moon on the same street. We reserved on Open Table and were seated in the wrong restaurant. The food and service were great, but it was not the restaurant we thought we had booked. Only an email from Open Table let us know that we had not honored our reservation. Be aware that you are in the correct establishment. They will not let you know. Going back to the other Paper Moon in two nights. This place is now one of my favorite restaurants out of the five different cities in Italy I've traveled to. It's quite a popular place where you will find locals and tourists dining there. If locals are eating there too then you know it's good. If you are able to then make reservations, but if not then just get there earlier to avoid the rush of fellow diners. It's a more modern looking restaurant and very clean. Now to the food... We tried the Spaghetti Alla Tarantina (clams, mussels, in a tomato based sauce), Pappardelle (smoked bacon with a tomato cream sauce), Tagliolini Gamberi E Fiori Di Zucca (baby shrimp, zucchini), and the Tiramisu. All three pasta dishes and the dessert were AH-mazing! I'm serious. Just a taste of heaven I think. The flavors were just impeccable and the pasta is always cooked perfectly al dente. How can something relatively simple be so tasty?! Why can't Italian restaurants in the US be this good? The house red wine was delicious too. One of the best things about Italy is that the house wines are always good and relatively cheap. This restaurant was one of the more expensive ones I've eaten at. I do dislike the tourist tax restaurants always put on the tab for sitting and eating inside. This place was worth it though if you want to try at least one nice restaurant before leaving Milan. We came here twice because we loved it so much. The first time around I loved our server. He was very helpful and recommended dishes for us and just had a genuine friendly demeanor about him. The service was great! The second time around the server was very....serious? He didn't really smile or say anything unless you asked him a question. It just shows having a warm/awesome server makes the experience so much better...but the food does speak for itself. (Great, now my mouth is watering just thinking about the food.) read more

We spent 9 days in Italy- 3 in Milan, 2 in Tuscany and 4 in Florence....had lots of good meals, but this was by far, the best. Food was perfection- fresh, flavorful and well-served. Delightful environment and superb service. Can't wait to return! read more

We had dinner the first night we arrived in Milan. It was late and most restaurants were closed, the concierge from our hotel recommend it and it was very good! We ordered spinach gnocchi & funghi risotto. The service was ok, and the tiramisu fantastic ! I would recommend this place if you are looking for something late, it closes at midnight when every restaurant in Milano closes at 22hs . The price was good for the service and food expected. Being a chef myself I wanted to taste true Milan and after a lot of research I requested a table at Papermoon, cut to the chase , the tables are directly next to each other so a romantic table for 2 can easily feel like a table for 4 or 6 , both starters and main courses were highly seasoned with salt which over powered the flavours of the food , there is NO customer service what so ever and when we left roughly at €15 tip on out €85 bill the waiter looked furious as he literally mumbled under is breathe as he threw out coats at us !! I came here for a late lunch, because of the recommendations of Yelp and the Foders travel guide. This smallish place has a "nothing out of the ordinary" ambiance, which surprised me a bit for the location being close to the high end shopping area. I ordered a pizza, which was served pretty quickly, although i would say my waiter was not overly friendly. The quality of the food was very good....but most Pizza in Italy is usually good. The items on the menu appear to be a bit pricey. I would recommend the place if you are in the area, but wouldn't call this a destination restaurant and travel out of my way to visit. read more

First real meal in Milan, so I can't make any observations as to whether it's good compared to other places in the city or not. My dining companion and I ordered 1. Pasta with tomatoes, pine nuts, and mozzarella 2. Braised veal shank with saffron risotto 3. Side of steamed vegetables 4. Tiramisu I thought the preparation was okay -- it wasn't spectacular. I prefer my pasta a little less "al dente"; this was almost at the point of undercooked. My dining companion loved it, though. The veal was pretty good, but it's difficult not to like a braise. It felt a little under seasoned and there wasn't much saffron in the risotto, but it was good. The steamed vegetables were literally steamed vegetables (gotta get your fiber in somehow). The tiramisu was awesome. Service was curt? To the point? Not sure what's the best PC way to put it. read more

Decent service. Great pizza. Don't go for main course or pasta here. Their food is divided. Taste wise, pizza are your best options. Antipasti is relatively bland and pasta is too Salty. They try their best with the main course but unfortunately the taste just don't add up to what they charge for it. The fish is uninspiring at best with herbal seasoning that tries to be interesting but instead overpowers and destroys the simplicity of taste in other materials. Overall the cooking lacks fine balance you would expect from good Italian cuisine with the exception of their pizza which is well balanced and great tasting. read more

I am all about fairness ! Food : average at best! To be fair I did try two dishes and dessert! Main dish left me unimpressed. Dessert was delicious: creamy and soothing after the manager gave me this table and said that I have for an hour. Which m ant that if I am not done I leave! I was done, fairness again: my waiter made this experience bearable. Suggestion: next time you see a single person, without any reservation, threat them like gold! They may recommend you and come ball for lot more. You lost me with average food and above all, poor, snooty approach to treating me as a welcomed customer ! Yelp says this is a pizza place but I've been coming here for years and have only ordered a pizza a handful of times. They have a medium sized menu and you can't go wrong with anything. They serve good sized portions at a good prices. This place is good for groups if you reserve in advance. It gets very crowded and tends to be very loud inside. Fantastic dinner, comfy space with kind staff! We had quite the night when my man fainted after our lovely dinner. Long travel days & dehydrated. The whole restaurant stopped to help me care for ailing husband. Comforted him until we knew ambulance needed to be called for back up. Flashing lights outside their off major street local had to deter walk ins but they continued to assist us. Such generosity & kindness is the place ALL of us humans need to go to for not only a good authentic Milan meal & authentic experience with kind locals & out of town folk. read more
