I was excited to try a Vietnamese buffet since they're hard to find, and I enjoyed being able to sample a variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes in one place. I visited twice,once for lunch and once for dinner, and found that the selection was pretty much exactly the same both times, The pho is only on weekends, dry noodles and meat are pre-portioned into bowls, and the broth wasn't hot enough to properly warm the meat or soften the noodles, leaving them on the dry side instead of tender...I couldn't finish my bowl The bánh xèo was nice and crispy but quite oily and only had 1-2 pieces of shrimp. Some dishes were flavorful and fresh, while others seemed like they had been sitting out for a while and weren't kept hot enough. The standout dishes for me were the rice congee, bánh cuốn, chicken wings, and the caramelized fish. Those were well done and the reason I'd consider coming back. The restaurant was clean, and the staff were attentive. Overall, it's worth trying at least once if you're curious about a Vietnamese buffet, but compared to many of the excellent Vietnamese restaurants in the Tampa Bay area, I still prefer ordering freshly made dishes over the buffet. Fantastic Vietnamese buffet where you can try a huge array of Vietnamese staples without compromising quality! I live in Miami where there isn't much Vietnamese food but my parents moved to Pinellas Park only a few minutes away from this restaurant so I was super excited to visit and go with them! Vietnamese buffets are not a common business model, and from other types of buffets you know that sometimes the quality can suffer, but Quan Ngon strikes a great balance between quality but also diverse options from many subtypes of Vietnamese cuisine. I won't be able to go into everything I tried (that would be a novel) but I will hit some of the highlights: - Grilled pork with broken rice: pork was marinated well, savory and sweet with a nice chargrilled taste, great with the rice + eggs + scallion oil or even by itself - Curry chicken: tastes very similar to how I remember my family does it, light but a bit creamy and with tender chicken and potatoes - Braised clay pot fish (but it's buffet style so served in a warming tray): savory, a bit sweet, tender fish that goes well with rice to soak up all the sauce - Fish sauce wings: not a super traditional dish but it's popping up all over modern Vietnamese restaurants now, slightly crisp outside juicy inside with a delicious savory sweet just salty enough glaze - Dessert (Che) bar: I'm not a huge fan of Vietnamese desserts, but I have to admit their row of Vietnamese desserts are well cooked, and sweet but not too sweet (also approved by my Vietnamese parents so you know it's legit!) Local favorite Vietnamese spot located in Pinellas Park. They open at 4 pm and there were people already lined up waiting outside for the doors to open. Restaurant is not spacious so you do have to wait until a table is available. Best to get there early before doors open. Everyone here comes for the buffet. Lots of authentic vietnanese cuisine dishes. I got to try many of the dishes and they were all very yummy. I was not crazy about the desserts. Just not my favorite type of desserts . The food choices remind you of Vietnamese comfort food, so many endless options whether it's braised egg and pork, congee, chicken salad, Vietnamese rice rolls, Thai tea, pho noodle or whatever soup they have of the day, apparently their menus change. Great concept, love the fact that we can try a bunch of different Vietnamese dishes. It felt like going to a family member/friends' house party. This place was maybe my most anticipated opening last year. I'm so excited I got a chance to try their Weekend Buffet. There's a great selection of Vietnamese food. I was able to snag a table right at opening time and thankfully we arrived when we did because boy did it pack up really fast. Anywho, for the price, this is a great way to get your Vietnamese fix or a great way to try some authentic items that you've been wanting to try. We had to wait a while for a table, as you can imagine the place is packed!! There is a pho bar to custom order your favorite bowl of pho, as well as many different types of noodles, thick or thin. There are egg rolls and summer rolls, bánh cuốn (steamed rice rolls), bánh bèo (steamed rice cakes in a bowl), and for entrees dishes like clay pot fish, grilled pork, beef with bread, and the lemongrass chicken feet - I am not particularly a big fan of chicken feet, but this was so delicious I went back for third... For desserts there is Chè, where you can add different types of beans and jelly together with coconut milk, for a perfect finish to your meal. Overall, the quality of individual dishes goes from a B to A+. Some of the meat can be chewy. But I love it nonetheless, because of this place offers such a nice variety of dishes, many not often found in your standard pho-heavy Vietnamese restaurants. We were excited and expected something comparable to well-known Vietnamese buffets like Kim Son in Texas. Unfortunately, it fell far short of our expectations. The food quality was very poor. While there was a decent variety of dishes, most were very ordinary and lacked flavor. My son took only three chicken wings, some nem nướng, sweet potato fries, a little rice with grilled pork, and a few chips. He didn't like the sticky texture of the wings, so he barely touched them. We also found a piece of grilled pork that was burned almost black, so we set it aside because we didn't want the children to eat it. We weren't trying to waste food. In fact, the amount we took was very modest because we only wanted to sample a few items. Even though we were unhappy with the quality, we didn't complain. We simply paid our bill and prepared to leave. What happened next was even more disappointing. As we were walking out, the manager stopped us and asked if anything was wrong with the food. Not wanting to embarrass anyone or create a scene, I politely replied, "No, nothing is wrong." Instead of thanking us for coming, he pointed to the small amount of leftover food on our table--three uneaten chicken wings, a few sweet potato fries, and the burned piece of pork--and told us he wanted to charge us by the pound for the leftovers. That was shocking. Rather than asking how they could improve or showing concern for the customer experience, the manager immediately focused on charging us more. It made an already disappointing meal feel even worse. For $25 per adult and $14.99 per child at lunch, I expected much better quality and much better customer service. The food quality was below average, and the manager's handling of the situation was unacceptable. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but honest feedback helps businesses improve and helps other customers make informed decisions. I love this place for any and all viet cuisine cravings. I came here with friends and I believe they offer an all you can eat option on the weekends, maybe throughout the week? But not sure. The food was always fresh, the drinks were delicious and it's one price for food, drinks, and dessert. Came here on a short trip to Florida on the way from Orlando to Clearwater beach. The place had a clean ambiance, located just off the Main Street. We ordered the Bun Dau Mam Tom, as I've never tried the dish and it wasn't something I saw often back home in Seattle. It was very flavorful especially with the Mam Tom sauce they serve it with, highly recommend! Also tried their sugarcane juice, which was also very refreshing on a hot day. I subbed the pork meat for the fish cake which is an extra $2 charge, and I was so full! I would opt in for extra bun next time but the food was great. The portion was generous.
