Carne asada tacos, comes with limes
    Alec F.

Avid Mexican cuisine consumer, and this is, easily, my new favorite overall spot. Some people don't love tacos like a meal, only eat them for lunch, not us. Tacos, margs, we are likely eating once a week. This was my second time at this restaurant. I love the authentic culture, ambiance and service. I love the tacos, tried the tacos twice now and 5/5 10/10 tacos each time. Good lord we love the margarita, I will be telling everyone it's the best one in the area. Not everyone has the same opinion of margarita either, but for us, what an authentic margarita should be, this is it. Liked the tajin straw, that was fun. I always leave a constructive criticism, please don't take negativity, just as possible improvement. Add a spicy margarita to the menu, the best ones soak the tequila in a pepper for like 24hrs and serve that in it. I also meant to ask if there was a habanero salsa available, I might update this if there is! Thanks for the great meals, we'll be back soon for that spicy margs and tacos

Situated right next to a Mexican grocery store, La Tiendita brings authentic Mexican flavors to Ellisville. The dining area is spacious, with a cozy bar and plenty of comfortable seating. Service is prompt, friendly, and attentive, making you feel welcome from the start. I tried the beef tongue taco, beef brisket taco, and a tamale--and everything was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that left me full and happy. As a bonus, I was served a spicy bean soup that added a warm, flavorful kick to the meal. If you're looking for a spot with real, satisfying Mexican food and great service, La Tiendita is definitely worth a visit.

Brisket taco, carne asada taco, side of beans & rice. 3 different salsa/sauces.

Delicious food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing margaritas! My husband and I each had a lime margarita, then he tried a mango margarita...both delicious! They all came with a tamarind coated straw too! We'll be visiting again!

We are so thrilled that La Tiendita has finally been able to expand and have the sit down restaurant area. If you don't know, they have fantastic tortillas and make them in house regularly. They also supply them to other restaurants in the city. Already a bonus! We came in today for lunch and had great service - we sat immediately and started looking over the menu. We ordered a variety of tacos and one Gordita. I enjoyed the Barbacoa and Salsa Verde tacos along with a Chicharron Prensado Gordita. Everything was fantastic - it was a toss up between the Salsa Verde and Chicharron Prensado Gordita on which I liked more - it was hard to choose! My husband also order 4 different tacos and really loved the Salsa Verde taco. The restaurant & market is family owned and everyone is so incredibly nice. The build out for the restaurant area is beautiful and the bar is a nice compliment to the room. The whole area gives off comforting and welcoming vibes. I am so very happy for them and cannot wait to come back.

Love the tortillas. Also, the Del Primo hot sauce that they carry is really good too.

Wow! This place has had a serious glow up! It's a full on restaurant with table side service, many tables, nice decor, good music, and still amazing food. This place is legit with authentic Mexican options. Many tables filled with Latinos, so that brings some "cred" Friendly greeting when I walked in and was guided to a table. Complimentary salsas and an amazing frijoles charros served at the table. What I ate: - frijoles charros (4.5/5): I have had an unbelievable amount of pinto bean dishes in my life, and these are way up on the top of the list. Really amazing. Wish my mother could try them. - chicharrón prensado gordita (4.5/5): very tasty filling. Served piping hot. Get the meaty cheese. Best with red salsa. - Carne asada taco (4/5): good quality beef and a super fine dice which is nice. Great tortilla. Steak doesn't seem seasoned or marinaded. Pairs well with like and green salsa - jarritos - (5/5 always). Pineapple of course!

Been driving past this place all my life completely unaware that a hidden gem was located here. A small, tucked away, no-frills taqueria that also doubles as a marketplace. Delicious authentic Mexican with some of the most flavorful meat in town. With how fair the prices are and how good the service is, this spot deserves way more recognition. Favorite dishes: Chicharron prensado, barbacoa, lengua

House margaritas 12.99 nothing special. The food very small portion very basic. They serve some bean soup instead of chips and salsa.

There's definitely a wide variety of shoppers here who are all friendly every time I've been in. The seafood counter is at the very back of the store next to the butcher in the back left corner. Their butcher features Halal meat which is a great option for Manchester! I like to go to the fresh produce section for vegetables and herbs and find dry ingredients in the aisles to make Thai food. They have a big selection of kimchi here too! Recently, we've been getting our meat here for our general cooking and it's always really great quality - especially the Halal chicken breast! This is a great place to find a variety of sake and soju as well as Asian lager beers like Tsingtao, Sapporo, and Chang. Sometimes there are long lines but the cashiers here are SO fast at ringing up the products that you will never have to wait long. They also will open another checkout lane if it gets too backed up.

Aside from the al pastor, tacos were honestly a little unremarkable given how tasty they looked. Carne asada was on the drier side, chorizo too salty, and I've definitely had more flavorful and tender lengua elsewhere. The star of the show was by far the quesabirria tho. Super cheesy and flavorful without being too oily. Actually so delicious. Cheap, casual spot definitely worth checking out. Favorite dishes: Quesabirria

Everything came out fast, hot, and generously portioned, with the classic setup: warm corn tortillas, chopped onion, cilantro, lime, and a lineup of salsas to round things up. The birria tacos were the clear standout. Deeply savory, rich without being greasy, and packed with tender meat that tastes like it was cooked with real care. Don't forget the consomé to level these up even further. These were easily our favorite -- the kind you keep thinking about after your meal is over. The other meats were solid across the board, and it was fun to compare them side by side. Nothing felt like filler, and the tortillas held up well even as we worked through a full tray. Portions are generous and the prices feel fair, especially considering how satisfying the tacos are. This is the place you come when you want legit tacos. Don't skip the birria. We'll definitely be back.
