I got to try out their food the other day at my friend's birthday party and I liked it so much, I came back two days later! I got there around 11:30 and there were only a few people. After I looked at the menu, I decided to get 1 chicken and 1 steak taco. I think I waited all of five minutes and my food was brought out to me. I loved the chicken taco the other day when I first had it today, and today was no different. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and I loved that the portions were plentiful. The steak taco was pretty good but didn't wow me. I opted not to get any chips and guacamole but the ones I had at my friend's party were delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is spacious and the menu offers a plethora of options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll admit this is a bit of a drive but if I'm in the area, I'll def stop by.

We've been here twice this week. Always so good! Love the tortas and tacos and margarita buckets.

Hadn't eaten here in quite some time. I always say I loved it more when it was just a hut. We sat inside because it was a hot day. I ordered 2 chicken tamales with beans and rice and guac and chips. Everything was missing flavor. How could this be with Mexican food? I grabbed salt and limes to help the guac. It tasted like smashed avocados. It was fresh. The beans and rice lacked flavor. The tamales were so bland. The masa was completely flavorless. Again, how is this possible?! Needless to say I ate it because I paid for it. The guac was fire after I spruced it up. PLEASE bring back the flavorful food you all used to sell!

Got street tacos and burrito. tacos had a lot of meat filling! The burrito with asada was good. Lots of rice filling and it came with chips. The pickled green beans were so spicy but tolerable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Had an outside patio and fast service too[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

One of my go to places on Cherokee Street. You order your food and receive a text when it is ready. There is a large patio. Guacamole - recommended There are multiple options for children. I enjoyed the Torta and quesadilla on two separate occasions. My experience has been that the food shines above meeting expectations. If you are in the neighborhood, then I would suggest you stop by.

We stopped by La Vallesana right when they opened on a Sunday. Parking is street only, but is relatively easy to find. The restaurant is essentially self-serve-- you order at the counter, provide a phone number, and they text you to grab it when your food is ready on a tray. They have outdoor and indoor seating as well. We love the tacos and the burritos here! I particularly enjoy the wide variety of meats they have and everything is very flavorful (especially with the flavored rice in the burritos). The red salsa was a bit too smoky for us, but we enjoyed the freshness of the green salsa. They recently raised their prices but everything is still relatively affordable ($3.25 per taco, $10 per burrito). You can also order online and pickup from their website. Only downside is they don't provide you with water, so either bring a water bottle or be prepared to go thirsty if you don't want to purchase a drink!

Went on Labor Day. Sat outside. No waiters. You order your food at the counter and then go get it when it's ready. The chips and salsa are not free but this place is not TexMex, it's authentic Mexican. They have some of the best tacos we've ever had. The Margaritas were phenomenal too. No salt, no cute glass, no lime but they were amazing. Only negative is the salsa isn't great. Chips were good though. We'll be back.

If you're looking for some great margaritas and authentic Mexican food- you just found it. We sat outside and ordered a couple of margaritas, chips, salsa, queso and quesadillas and were wowed by the food. Everything had a little kick to it but wow the flavor was amazing. The outdoor area is the spot to be at, but you will have to order inside first.

Nice spot on Cherokee, staff was friendly when ordering and picking up food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved getting to order food and sit on the patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The tacos were so good and the corn loved the soda also! Only spot I go in Cherokee check it out next time !

I visited La Vallesana on a Friday night. Before the pandemic, this used to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in St. Louis. However, the pandemic understandably forced many businesses to change up their model, and la Vallesana just isn't what it was before. The food here isn't bad. However, it is nothing to rave about, and the prices are a bit higher than you would get at nearby Mexican restaurants. I ordered a torta de cabeza, which was relatively small and the bread was a bit dry. You can get a much better and cheaper torta across the street at El Torito or Latinoamericana. It is also pricey considering that post-pandemic, La Vallesana has moved to a bit of a self-service model. You order at the counter, and you get a text when you can pick up your food. You're paying a lot for very little food and service. They do carry house-made ice cream and popsicles, which are delicious! I especially like the pistachio ice cream from Vallesana. All things considered, there are much better Mexican restaurants on Cherokee for the price.

One side of the menu, ice cream looked so good!

Food: This is by far the most authentic Mexican I have had in St. Louis. I went to Mexico twice last year and this is even more authentic than I got in Cancun the second time I went. I got a spicy a spicy shrimp burrito with fries! The salsa both red and green is to die for too! Service: You order at the front and then go get your food when they text you. The lady working was nice and the business had a family-run feel which made the service even better. Ambiance: I alluded to this earlier but this is about authentic as it comes! Took me right back to the countryside of Mexican. Plenty of seating, a bar with a lot of drinks, ice cream, and plenty of seating. You can't bet this place. Also bonus points for the Mexican grocery store being right there and getting some sweet bread afterwords, definitely recommend it!

Very solid Mexican food at cheap prices. Kind of interesting how outdoor dining seems to already be a huge thing for this place before COVID-19. Came on a weekday and was surprised that there was quite a bit of people here. - Tacos Surpemo - Basically just meat, lettuce, cheese, and tomato. We tried to order three different types of meat, but they only gave us the steak. I wish the tacos was a little bit more wet because the tortilla seems kind of dry. - Fajitas Quesadilla (Steak) - I actually really enjoyed the quesadilla. The steak was actually really tender and I appreciate how much sour cream they put into each one. Overall pretty good food and definitely recommend coming to get the quesadilla. One thing is that the menu is almost entirely in Spanish, so make sure you do some research before you come!

Because our guests had a lot of food issues - gluten, nut and dairy it was a real challenge! Stephanie carefully curated a menu that hit all of our requirements. In addition, because we live out of town for most of the year, our decorations, holiday plates and whatnot were quite limited. Stephanie put my fears to rest by assuring me she'd take care of all the details. As the day of the party dawned, we had the place all cleaned up and ready. Stephanie and Mary arrived about an hour before the guests and set to work transforming our little place into a festive, inviting party spot. We had holiday cocktails and mocktails, delicious heavy appetizers and desserts that were out of this world. Stephanie literally thought of everything. All the food was labeled so our guests could choose foods that were best for their food sensitivities. At the end of the party they gathered everything up, helped set aside uneaten food for later consumption and left with very little for us to other than sweep the floor and fall into bed after a very fun and satisfying gathering of friends. I went to the recommended "good" places and walked away disappointed. I happen to be in Soulard one day and noticed Bogart's closed because they sold out. That's a big green flag to me. Not open Sunday and Monday, green flag. Primarily open for lunch, green flag. I just knew I had to check it out. Finally got the opportunity to check it out and boy was it delicious. I got a two meat plate with two sides. I got the tri tip, ribs, baked beans, and deviled potato salad. The deviled egg potato salad taste like it sounds. It taste like potato salad and and deviled egg had a baby. Never seen such a creation but I knew I needed to have it. The baked beans were out of this world!! Top three baked beans I've ever had!! A little smokey, a little sweet, and just the right consistency as far as thickness for me A1 . The ribs by far the best ribs I've had in STL. Very flavorful and tender. The tri tip it was ok. I've never had it shaved before and couldn't really get a good grasp on the flavor. It wasn't bad, just not the way I've had tri tip previously. All of their BBQ sauces were fantastic as well!! My favorite sauce was the pineapple express. Bogart's has restored my faith in STL BBQ. I was a non-believer for some time . HIGHLY recommend
