The food here is on point. Besides given burnt chips once, the food was fairly tasty overall. Met any expectation one could have for tortas, street tacos, fresh chips etc. They have like 4 different sauces on the tables that were choice. Though, the drinks we were given were all warm. Someone with me was given a warm bottled beer for example. The tea wasn't cold even with ice in it. The service we got was bad. The reason I'm rating two. I'm not sure if they're understaffed, but we had to wave the waiter down. Then they just wouldn't bring things. To not give a straw with a drink? That kind of stuff. He disappear for long periods of time. The food was brought out at random times. Some were finished eating while others didn't even get their food yet. At the end, they kind of pushed us out the door. Hurrying us up to pay and being grabby. It affected their tip. Price wise, I paid $15 for 3 tacos and a drink. You can decide if that works for your budget. However, 3 tacos were only half the amount of food as compared to a single torta that is $10-$12. $5 for elote? I don't know. If I went again I'd get take out and a torta. The food is great... The service was a hassle. read more

It's in a small old strip mall with little parking, but don't let that stop you from trying this place!! Chips were amazing! Hot and flavorful. The taco was big enough that I actually made 2, drinks are help yourself from the fridge. This place is true Mexican, not TexMex so no queso but amazing guacamole & pico. Great little hole in the wall! The real deal Mexican / Venezuela cuisine. Had the Tropicana torta which had loads of white chicken with cheese and a sauce. This thing is HUGE!! Definitely could have split this. The bread that it was on was outstanding. Also had the beef arepas which was my favorite! Never had anything like this before. Tender beef in a killer sauce nestled in some arpas corn meal bread. OMGish this was sooooo good. I look forward to coming back and trying the tacos and other menu items. What a wonderful find and Yelp is responsible. Did a search for restaurants in the area filtered by best rating. This place was top on the list, 5 stars with 157 reviews. Just make that 158. We tried the La Nortena torta, shredded beef empanada, barbacoa taco, and chips with guacamole. Everything was excellent. The torta, piled high with steak, was the star of the table but the taco and the chips with guacamole were close behind. Everything was authentic, fresh, and the chips were homemade served piping hot apparently made to order. We will definitely be back. We tried to bribe them offering a cash reward if they decided to move to Frankfort. Next door was an ice-cream parlor and a bakery that looked like they were owned by the same people. Next time I'll save some room to sample their wares. Some of the best places we have found to eat have started with that search. We have rarely been disappointed. Thank you Yelp. read more

First time trying this place. Couldn't really ask for much better. Definitely not fancy or quiet. Has a sports bar type vibe with very loud Latin music playing. Full bar, though we didn't try the drinks this night. All four sauces on table were very good and tasted homemade. ( Salsa Verde, Guacamole sauce, Spicy Ranch and maybe Chipotle? We started with chips and queso. The queso was standard but the chips are very different. I'm not sure how they do them but the have the texture of a flour tortilla that has been fried but taste like corn?? They are thick almost like a gordita. Whatever they are, we all liked them very much. We all got tortas which are sandwiches. They are loaded with meat and can have cheese if you add it for a small fee. When the waiter brought the food we literally thought he had another table's food with him also. The sandwiches are cut in half and I assumed each half was a full portion.they are HUGE. I am 6'2" 275lbs and I took half home. I can honestly say I hardly ever take anything home because I finish it at the restaurant. The only small negative was my son ordered tostones on the side and waiter did not bring them. After he saw how big sandwiches are my son said don't even bother mentioning it. When he brought the check he did not have them on it so apparently just didn't hear that they were ordered. Overall though, service and food were great. So good! I was searching for a good lunch place nearby the CVG airport. This was perfect. A bit divey, but food is amazing! I got a couple of arepas (la reina pepia and la del chamo), since I hadn't had arepas in years. Delicious! The tortas and chilaquiles on the menu also grabbed my attention, but I ended up not ordering those. I don't want to call it a great hole in the wall place. Because it is clean and very inviting. I pay attention to the little things when dining out. The ceiling tiles are fresh and new, lighting is consistent with no mix match bulbs and no dust bunnies in the corners. That in itself makes me enjoy my food more. Staff was super friendly and I liked the fact you could see your food being made. The female that waited on us was very pleasant and polite! Thank you! Food was delicious and a great value. The portions are more than generous, leaving you with plenty for a second lunch or night snack. You help yourself to a drink of your choice and square up after your meal at the counter. I've driven past this place a million times and never knew it was there. Had the opportunity to try it and I was not disappointed. The staff was amazing. We had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, but they took our order before seating us. I thought that was a nice touch. Also you know the place is authentic when the people from and of that culture are occupying all the seats. I stopped in for lunch one day and I was kind of in a time crunch and it was slammed so i decided to try some other time which was tonight. I got the el guarro. They brought 4 bottles of sauce out and I tried them in order on 4 separate bites. They were so delicious i just opened the torta up and put all 4 on. The sandwich was really really good. It's hard to find a decent torta in northern Kentucky but it's safe to say they have arrived. I can't wait to go back and try the cubana. I am curious as to what's on this 6 lb torta you get free if you eat in 25 minutes. I also saw on their Facebook Torta Thursdays ate $1 all tortas. Might have to go back tomorrow. My new favorite place! I always had to drive far to get good food. I wanted great and fresh mexican food but for my surprise they had arepas and empanadas!!!!! OMG, no words to describe how friendly the staff was. And the food, speechless. The Mexican- Venezuela cuisine combination is just what we needed in florence. I had the Cuban Torta and it was stuffed with meats. The mayo sauce was to die for. They also have a mini store with a good variety of products. I grabbed some tamarinds to finish the night off. They also do Carry Out. We got our food within 15 minutes but I tell you it was worth the wait. Sorry for not taking better pictures but I could not wait to eat. Went with my family on Sunday. This is not our first time there, but it may be the last. My Tropicana Torta tasted quite funky. I was afraid to eat it. When the sub par waitress finally came back to our table I gave it to her. She never asked what was wrong, or asked if I wanted something else. She just walked away. Leaving me without a meal. Thankfully my husband let me share! Next time she showed up to the table was with our check! With the 14.00 Torta still on there! We gave that to her for her tip.
