I had to give this place a try after all the great reviews, first time I tried I couldn't get in the parking lot so didn't go in but as I was leaving saw people parking in the lot adjacent to it so went back today to give it another shot and very glad I did. From the service as they greet everyone that walks in the door to the incredible food everything was great, I will be coming back. Started out the best freshest pico I have ever had, then fresh made chips. Next the steak torta, please get that thing it is amazing! The tacos and guac and plantain chips.. I absolutely love coming to La Torta Loca! Every time I come in my food is fantastic and the owners are very friendly and hospitable. I recently tried La mexicana arepa and it was delicious. The meat was tender and juicy and the White sauce was really really good. I also tried the tripe taco, which if you are more adventurous with your food you should definitely try. Don't let this place fool you!! Some of the best tacos I have had. The sauces that they give you all were amazing. Everything taste authentic and fresh. The service was out of this world. The young lady was welcoming and was willing to help understand and was suggesting items on the menu! This isn't a Mexican joint with large menu this is a small spot with awesome street food. They have 5-6 tables sitting at least 4 per for the eat in guest, and offer a take out service. While inhaling my tacos others around me had the Torta's and those looked amazing as well! I really want to try those next time, along with some more tacos! The City of Florence is lucky to have some quality taco spots. Support the small local businesses! read more

So not the most comforting chairs but the food is fresh and authentic. Usually there are people waiting but worth the wait . The chips are deep fried non healthy amazing crispy saltiness and the paco de Gallo is so fresh you wanna keep eating . The street tacos are also with fresh cilantro and onion . In my quest to try small, locally owned restaurants lately I have seen recommendations for La Torta Loca repeatedly, so I finally stopped in. The location is easy to miss, but worth the effort. Google Maps will be your friend to locate the correct tiny little strip mall on Dixie Highway! I've been to this restaurant twice and ordered a torta for carryout both times. The owners were very friendly and willing to answer questions about the menu. I've had the La Torta Loca (holy meat pile, Batman! Forget Arby's, this place has the meats) and the El Guarro (just carnitas, but a LOT of it!). Both sandwiches were delicious and plenty to feed two people. There is a green sauce and a red sauce that came with both sandwiches on the side. The green was delicious and the red was tasty as well, but more spice than I like typically. I hope to return soon to try the tacos and arepas as well. read more

My boyfriend and I moved from California to Florence Kentucky in January. California is known for the authentic mexican food and we were so sad to have left it. Since then we have been trying to find an authentic place to get mexican food. My boyfriends Hispanic and I've tried to make him his favorite foods but it's not cutting it for him LOL. First thing you'd say is wow this is a little pricey but WOW, the portions they give you is ALOT. They don't skimp you, unlike some places here. You literally get what you pay for. The taste was on point! We both ordered the Pepito torta and to me it reminded me of a California burrito it almost tasted like home!! I like how they don't charge extra for sauces. Again like some places they do and then skimp on the serving. My boyfriend and I will be back!! He couldn't stop saying how good his torta was, and it's HARD to impress him. It was amazing even 30 minutes later when we sat down at home to eat. We got the chicken quesadilla, chips with guacamole and an arepa with beef and cheese. They all come with an amazing creamy sauce that adds to the pleasant blend of flavor. Their guacamole is so fresh and wonderful, I highly recommend it! We shared three dishes: La torta loca - huge huuuuuge stuffed full sandwich of tender meat, cheese and sautéed onions and jalapeños Birra tacos - slow roasted beef - delicious. Arepa Mexicana - also delicious, heavy with cilantro but not overpowering. The sauces that they give you on the table are delicious too - I recommend the white garlic sauce. We were staying in Florence for one night so I checked yelp to see what our dinner choices would be. This place popped up and the reviews were very positive. I was a little nervous because some of the reviews said it was really small and I thought we wouldn't be able to get a table. We arrived on a Thursday night around 7:30 and there were a couple of available tables. There were about 12 tables in the place so it wasn't as small as I thought. We ordered the chips and guacamole first and they were delicious. I ordered a street taco Al pastor and a empanada with cheese and plantains and my husband ordered an arepa with grilled chicken. They were both delicious. We tried the 3 sauces that are on the table and I loved the white sauce and my husband loved the green sauce. The red sauce was good but I thought it was a little spicy.
