The meat is delicious. Service is wanting in consistency but they're friendly. The seafood makes up a good deal of difference, it's hard to cook octopus without making it tough. IMHO, this place has the absolute BEST Carne Asada, period. Well seasoned and pretty lean. Refried beans are homemade with Mexican Cheese sprinkled on top for good measure. Rice is well seasoned as well and on the lighter side of color. Corn Tortillas are homemade as well and are just plain amazing. I have watched this restaurant grow for years and they just keep getting better. When we went in here on 1/25/2020, it was fairly full so that alone says something. Check out the BBQ Chicken when there as they sold several during the time we were there and they looked great and smelled the same! read more

The food tonight was terrible! Carne asada was very very bland. not to mention the marinated taco aka al pastor taco was super dry not fresh at all. The sope was tasteless also carne asada. The nopal was grilled that was great, the beans and rice ok. This place is fired. But! I will say in the summer they do have fresh grilled chicken on the grill outside. now that is real fresh. Not very clean 2. Only ONE unisex bathroom 3. Bad, bad, bad seafood (2 of us got sick) 3. Bad salsas 4. Not a nice environment 5. This is probably one of the most disappointing Mexican restaurants I've been to unfortunately. I walked in and the place was really cold, the floors were dirty and the ceiling fan looked like it hasn't been cleaned in months. I ordered a $6 torta to go. I waited 30 minutes just to be disappointed, the bun was thin and soggy, mostly beans. I asked for a glass of water and didn't receive it. My boyfriend asked for a Jarrito which was $2.25 which is much overpriced. The entire time no waiter attended us or updated us on our order. Would not recommend read more

This place has the WORST food of all time I'd say. Everything is old and over cooked. They are so slow to greet you and never really listen to your special requests (as in how you like your eggs or no tomatoes bc I'm allergic). Not friendly! Can i give this place half a star? I came to this restaurant today with a friend and ordered 'camarones al mojo de ajo'. Disgusting. This dish came with a thickened flour gravy consistency, horrible flavor, lacking in spice. I've never seen this dish with gravy. When I sent it back, they refused to comp me and charged full price, saying it was not their fault. Avoid this restaurant like the plague. My friend ordered carne asada and chilaquiles, which was a bit better than the camarones but still not up to par. Woodburn has way better Mexican restaurants than this. If I can put half a star to no star I would. My family and I have been here 2 times the first time was bad I had gotten a super quesadilla and it was very salty and the grease was unbelievable nasty nasty nasty I don't clearly remember what my family had but we were all disappointed. The second time we were there we went because we wanted to give it a second chance I got a super burrito with steak and the steak tasted so bad I couldn't finish it. My step dad got a huarache with steak and he said it tasted dry (huarache) and of course the steak was also the problem. My mom and sister got a mojara (fried fish) and it was super dry and the rice was cold as well as the mojara she even asked to get it reheated but had to go all the way to the cashier to get a waiter because there was no waitress to be found. Moral of the story I don't recommend anyone going unless they want to spend their money on something unsatisfying and disgusting. I am not trying to bash this restaurant just speaking with honesty. If the food here was good I would have put a good review and and encourage people to eat here but it is the opposite. Hope you you are glad my family and I had explosive diarrhea. Thanks read more

I'm glad I didn't pay any attention to the 2 previous reviews and checked this place out. Great service, very friendly people and most importantly the food was delicious. What is interesting about the menu is that a lot of it is regional food from Nayarit. If you're looking for tacos and burritos, you will find them here also. Since that region is on the ocean, there are lots of seafood dishes on their menu. I had a pineapple dish stuffed with seafood. The owner explained that this is a traditional dish from the region he came from. I found it to be a great blend of flavors and textures. I also had the Molcajete. It was an impressive assortment of seafood, and enough to share between 3 of us. I will go back. read more
