I ordered a pep pizza yesterday. It was one of the few places that did COD on an order. I give the place props for allowing that. I had the dosh, it just wasn't in my bank account. The pizza was delivered and I gave the driver a decent tip. When I opened it up, I barely had a dozen pieces of pep on a large pizza. It was pathetic and not cheap. And in conclusion....... The subs here are always good but this time we ventured into a few other things that didn't pan out very well. Picked up the to go and they had packed the salad in with all of the hot food. No idea why anyone would do that. Unpacked it and took it out there but the salad was already warm. Just idiotic. The pretzel bites were soaked in fryer grease. The fries were dried out and seemed old. The best part was the soda. $3 for a 16oz soda that was mostly ice. The portion size is small 3.the calamari was under cooked 4.the grilled chicken salad didn't have no lettuce, carrots,onion,and what looked like weeds for lettuce. 5. The calzone was small for a medium an the crust was tough with very little mozzarella cheese an the toppings that was added was skimpy. 5. I ordered a pizza and had it delivered by a food delivery service. There was a pizza and a chicken parm dinner. I only received the dinner. When I called the restaurant to find out if the delivery person walked off without the pizza they were extremely helpful and offered to just have my pizza delivered. As a long time customer of La Trattoria restaurant in the little strip mall near Oak Ridge Apartments, here's WHY I STOPPED GOING THERE: I ordered a medium pizza with anchovies, green peppers and onion. It was good, untill the BILL CAME ! They charged $3.99 for anchovies, $2.99 for the peppers and $2.99 for the onions !!!!! I'm SORRY, but it's EXORBITANT to charge $10.00 for TOPPINGS !!!! Ridiculous. We're NOT talking generous toppings, either. A FEW of each, only, as thin as they could be sliced. Russ got Carbonara. He liked it. When we asked for some extra sauce, they said it would be $4.00 MORE ! Just a tablespoon or so, NOT A BIG CONTAINER, was all he wanted ! This restaurant just LOST US. The restaurant manager was unapologetic, and inhospitable, bordering on snotty. Previously, I did online reviews for them, saying how good they were. There are OTHER GREAT ITALIAN PLACES that don't price gouge. I REALIZE THAT PRICES ARE UP EVERYWHERE, but NOT to THIS EXTENT ! Quiet, clean, and delicious food. We were waited on by the owner who was as nice and friendly as could be. Our pizza pie was hand tossed to order and was some of the best pizza I've ever had. My husband had a cheesesteak which he said was delicious. I had the Greek salad and all the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. This place is a true gem.
