SAVE YOUR MONEY, CLOTHES, AND WELL-BEING. I brought in a $400 Reformation dress that was ruined by their alterations dept. The hems were lined up nearly one inch off along the sems in two different places. I asked for shorter straps. They came back BUTCHERED (see photos). The edges are frayed and messy. Then a strap that ran across my shoulders was shorted in the very middle (where my spine would be) and made into a big lump. This job was done by someone who does not know how to do alterations AND felt fine charging for this shoddy job. I didn't notice when I picked up the dress. This is sneaky of them. It was right before shelter in place, so it went unaddressed. However, a year later, I went there for dry cleaning, thinking that the different departments would have different levels of service. I don't do dry cleaning often, just for my most expensive items. I bought two sweaters for cleaning. When I came to pick them up, one sweater was still quite dirty, and one was shrunken into a cropped length. They took the sweater to the back and quickly cleaned it, and asked to keep the shrunken sweater to fix it. That was all fine and I was hopeful the issue could be fixed - but this is where the interaction started to get HORRIBLE. The shrunken sweater could not be fixed, so I asked for compensation. The attendant started rolling his eyes at me and speaking very rudely. When I asked why he was being like that, he told me my other sweater was "FILTHY". Last I checked, that was why I was bringing my sweater in for cleaning (I washed dishes in my sweater and leaned against the sink). It was also clearly not since they cleaned it in minutes when I asked them to. I could not believe he was trying to belittle and insult me because I asked them to be responsible for ruining my sweater. After pushing for compensation for the shrunken sweater, they said I had to bring proof of the price of my $200 wool Reformation sweater. I didn't have a receipt because I bought the sweater the previous winter. I told him this and how much it was - THEN HE TOLD ME MY SWEATER DEPRECATED IN VALUE. (WTF?!!!!) If I was trying to sell the sweater, sure, but I was trying to REPLACE my favorite wool sweater. I said this to him, and he was raising his voice, rolling his eyes, being dismissive and hurling insults. Finally, he told me to bring in proof and they would consider it. When I brought in screenshots of the website, they never called or returned my calls. They never even refunded the $20 I spent on the service. I have a long-term illness, and leaving the house is only possible every few weeks. I told them this and that it took a lot of energy to deal with this. I feel that I was taken advantage of as a disabled person. They just gave me a hard time and hoped I would go away. I was met with the worst behavior, dishonestly, and ultimately lost just under $700 in the cost of clothing and services. I would give negative stars if I could. Please save yourself and consider not supporting this business. Shame on them. read more

They dry cleaned my wedding dress from 30 years ago and it looked like I had just purchased it. It was carefully stored in a preservation box. I was so impressed that my daughters had their wedding dresses cleaned and stored as well. I gave them a formal sequined dress that had no instructions and therefore should not have been dry cleaned. They tried anyway, and the sequins came off. They apologized profusely and promised that they would cover the cost of any replacement. We are new to Santa Fe so finding a quality dry cleaner for shirts and fine wool and cashmere apparel was important. I've been very pleased with my dress shirts, linen, wool and suits that they have cleaned and pressed. The prices are a bit higher than what I'm used too but I haven't found a better option in Santa Fe. read more

My local dry cleaning spot (having moved to Santa Fe 9 months ago). The fam who owns the biz is very nice. The spot on Cerillos road is also convenient to my work. 4 stars only because I find the prices rather high (compared to NY, which says a lot). Still, I have heard/read a lot of horror stories re: dry cleaning gone wrong in this town, so I'm willing to pay a bit more to know my clothes are in good hands. definitely pricey, six bucks to launder and press my husband's cotton dress shirts. but they were done as well as you would expect for the cost so can't complain about the quality of their work. also took in a vintage Pendleton wool blanket that i purchased at an estate sale - i was concerned bc it had a few small moth holes. manager (maybe owner? dark haired dude with glasses, i think) and i looked it over and he said it should be ok. thankfully it was, the holes didnt multiply or get bigger. i was very happy with the outcome. again, pricey at 35$ (i think, it was 4 months ago). when you're the only quality option in town, well, as my mother says, ya gotta pay the piper... read more

i have been a la unica customer for over a decade. they always, always, al(l)ways go above and beyond with their fantastic service. there was a time that an alteration took a bit longer than they had told me it would, and the sweet man who runs it all stayed late to make sure that i could pick up the piece in time for an event. today, i brought in a stained leather jacket. upon telling me that it would take two weeks and cost $55 to clean, i asked if he could advise me on how to clean it myself, and he kindly walked me through all the steps, taking the time to make sure to tell me about the pitfalls and how to avoid them. they are always so kind, and so warm, and all my dry clean only garments are well cared for in their competent hands. grateful for the la unica crew. read more

I have been going here for years (12 to 15 maybe) & overall, the results have been decent although their services are costly. I stopped by this morning to recycle hangers & pick up some items. One was an inexpensive (Penney's) winter white coat that no longer looked anywhere near winter white when I went to pick it up several weeks ago. It looked grey & dingy which I commented on after I had already paid $17+ for the cleaning. The young woman said they clean lights & darks separately but also said she could see what I was talking about & offered to run it through again. I left another couple blouses (Ann Taylor & theory) & asked her to have the manager or owner call me. No one called but I didn't think much of it either. However, this morning when I went to pick up the coat & the blouses, the manager told me that he & his father were "insulted" because the coat came in looking that way & that they almost didn't clean my blouses because they were in bad shape, too. Then they charged me another $17+ for the blouses. Needless to say, this is not my idea of good customer service & I will no longer be taking my "Dry Clean Only" clothing there. Especially if they complain about my complaining & about my clothes needing to be cleaned. (By the way, whatever they did to my white coat worked--it looks much better.) read more

I sent an expensive Ellen Tracy merino wool sweater, with 2 leather trim buckles to be cleaned..only because it had pilled some. I usually hand wash all of my sweaters but do not do so well with the pilling. The sweater was about 8 months old. When I got it back, it was so small I could not get it on. They offered to re-block it, but it was no better the second time around. Additionally, it had some small holes that were not there initially or went I sent it back the second time. I took the sweater back and while the manager offered to reimburse me after researching the value, he then argued that I had moths....no I do not and store all of my wool's, alpaca's, cashmere's properly....and he said the leather was vinyl.... sorry but I almost cut them off right then and there just to prove they were leather. ...and because I have horses and ridding breeches with leather and wash them often I can tell you you can get leather wet and the only thing that might happen is some dye might run. I would not ever buy anything made of plastic...this "manager" was very sarcastic and argumentative......I will never recommend or use them again.. I never had any problem with Martinizing (sorry for the spelling) Co. at either location. You can do better! read more

They ruined a shirt, clearly marred on both sides of the pressing, reflected through the pressing. The owner spoke with me and was rude, interrupting me, and banging his fist on the table to command attention. By the end I asked if there was any way to rectify the situation, even refunding the cleaning, he refused. Accidents happen, I understand that, but the owners lack of responsibility for mistakes led me to write this review. Do not go here. read more

This place isn't the cheapest-although I haven't been anywhere else for dry cleaning here, so perhaps Santa Fe dry cleaning is just more expensive than what I'm used to. It's also very centrally located so that could be the reason for higher pricing as well. That being said, my garments are impeccably clean and beautifully pressed. These folks are also very fast. I dropped my clothes off Tuesday afternoon and they were ready that Friday at 2PM. That's quite fast in my book, and I didn't put a rush on it. The guy was very polite as well. read more

Fantastic business. I brought in some very important shirts that seemed to be permanently wrinkled from a friend's dryer. A tried ironing, washing, and drying my shirts and nothing would work.
