Discovered this gem long ago and I love it! I usually get a burrito and I really like them. This location is closer so I usually come here but I do love the other location on Wiles. This location offers Mexican ice cream and I've tried before and it was really good. They have a bunch of flavors. They also offer pasties and cakes for sale. I've never eaten in but just usually call in my order. The place is generally busy and that was the case that evening. This time I decided to get steak nachos and they were decent. I was told my order would take 5-10 minutes but it ended up taking about 25 minutes. They came with guacamole, sour cream, cheese, refried beans, meat of choice, and pico de gallo. The steak was a bit dry and I was told there would be more for the price but it wasn't a mound as described lol. I probably won't get them again but it was worth a try. read more

I've been hearing about this place for a while and I'm so happy I got to finally try it. Main take away AUTHENTIC & FLAVORFUL ! The ladies working inside were very nice and welcoming. I'm sure they could see how excited I was to be there . It felt like what I would imagine walking into a local restaurant in Mexico would feel like. I ordered the chicken burrito which was so delicious ! It came filled with rice , beans, lettuce tomatoes and more. The salsa verde was amazing and paired well with the burrito. I also got the Birria tacos which I must say are the best I've ever had . I won't be going anywhere else for my Birria. La Union 2 is now El Carnal (Margate) This location was originally a Mexican restaurant owned by a family friend, later taken over by the Nieto family as the second La Union location. While the food was consistently good, it never achieved the same following or momentum as the original Wiles Road (Coral Springs) location or the North Lauderdale (#3) branch owned by Sra. Nieto's grandson, Javier Camacho. In October 2025, ownership transferred to other family friends, and the restaurant was rebranded as El Carnal under new manager Lolita. The menu and kitchen staff remain unchanged, and they continue sourcing baked goods from La Union Bakery. The new ownership plans to expand the menu with new takeout options. The Nieto family continues to operate the two other La Union locations and focus on their grocery/bodega business in Coral Springs. Food: We ordered tacos of steak, chicken and chorizo. The chicken was a little dry but the other two. Wowowowow chefs kiss. For the tacos You have the option of adding the lettuce and sour cream or just cilantro and onions. The sope was so flavorful. I added avocado for an extra touch. I added steak to it as well. The carne asada fries were a hit. Imagine tacos just with a base of French fries. Please call me a potatoe because I love fries!!! I was a regular here but at one point the food wasn't good to salty or over cook it was a hit and miss I try from burritos ,carne asada ,tacos ,menudo etc but yes I am coming back more often food it's been a lot better the dishes are flavorful I don't know they change the cook or they got back to do things right I definitely recommend it again ,service is great loving the place again read more

Our server was very kind and attentive, helping us with suggestions. It's definitely a hidden gem, absolutely delicious food. I was so excited to see the fruits and raspados stand inside the restaurant. The Al pastor tacos were great just wish they were a little more saucy but they weren't greasy. The barbacoa quesadilla was so cheesy and saucy it was amazing. The Gordita looked great, but was a little hard to eat with the plastic utensils. From the moment I walked in I felt right at home. The first thing I noticed was the regional Mexican Music playing and the amazing smell! The restaurant is small and simple, so nothing fancy! They were all very friendly and helpful with menu items! I love that they have breakfast-dinner food! I went for dinner and everything I had was amazing!! I highly recommend the nachos for large groups and of course the tacos. They make the tortillas in house so they're amazing!! I also tried the sope de pollo, which was good and the pozole (great) they also have horchata, fruit juices, and Mexican hot chocolate which are all really good!! Great little Mexican restaurant that is tucked away in a plaza. They have a lot of traditional dishes and "Americanized" dishes. My favorite to get is the pineapple aqua freshas, which is super refreshing. I get it every time. The prices are really affordable for the times. One of my favorite dishes is the birra quesadilla. I can't get enough of this place! No need to go to Mexico because this is as authentic as it gets. Even though I don't speak Spanish, they are so patient with me anytime I come order and usually just show pictures from fellow helpers post. Last visit I ordered the tacos with the dipping sauce. Have no idea what it's called. Just showed her a pic and I was a happy little school girl when I bit into that first bite. Hubby is a creature of habit and always gets the enchiladas. La Union Bakery is a local landmark, beloved by the community for it's inexpensive, fast, and tasty authentic Mexican food. Maria Nieto and her family, originally from San Luis Potosí, Mexico, opened the first taqueria and bakery shop in 2011 on the site of a former pizzeria on Wiles Road in Coral Springs. Some of the bakery specialities include dyed sugar cookies, guava empanadas, conchas, conas, baguettes, yeast rolls, and their best seller, tres leches cake. In 2018 they opened this second location in Margate in the El Bodegon shopping plaza on Sample Road. The pastries are made in the original location and brought here. There is a small dining area and along one wall is a stand serving shaved fruit ice creations drenched in condensed milk. This place is as authentic as it gets. It is food like your Abuela would make. Spanish is the primary language spoken here but the staff speaks English too. I saw a table filled with three generations of a family enjoying their meal. I was fixated on the tacos and I ordered the asada, pollo, and carnitas. They are served in soft flour tortillas with lettuce, tomato, queso fresco crema, cilantro, and lime. I also ordered the pollo flauta and steak nachos. It was a feast. The only problem I had with the food was when my guest bit intro a toothpick left in a pollo flauta. I recommend looking over the food before eating. Other than that you really can't go wrong with anything you order here. The staff was very kind too. They brought me a cup of water while I waited. We ordered the Quesabirria as well as a couple orders of carne asada tacos, and all the food was so good. Service was great despite us not knowing any Spanish - there was only a slight mess up, as we had ordered carnita & barbacoa tacos, but when the food came out it was only carne asada tacos (but the server showed us the order on his machine and we were only charged for carne asada tacos so it was okay!).
