This was a super tiny place. But I like authentic Mexican food eaten fresh instead of takeout. The fresh corn tortillas usually get soggy by the time I get home. There's only about six to eight tables, but they do a great job with their business, or so it seems. There is a study line of takeout orders. And the food is delicious! You can order each taco individually and do as many as possible. My favorite by far was the one with pineapples. I'm a sucker for pineapples on tacos. I like this place a lot. It's very small very quiet. The staff are always so welcoming. They smile and come and visit and welcome us back each time. We come here once a week sometimes twice a week. They have a full menu and everything is made fresh. Rich flavors including the pastor tacos probably the more flavor I have ever had in a taco. The enchilada was great also! The quesadillas are great and customizable! We had the pastor meat in with the cheese instead of chicken and it was DEFINITELY DELICIOUS! we tried just recently the cheese covered burrito another very nice dish! Service was amazing! Our server was very attentive, told us the special, and explained the different tacos that they offered. Had complimentary chips and sauces. The sauces were AMAZING. Came here on a Saturday night around 8pm it wasn't too busy which was surprising considering how good the food and margaritas were! Bathrooms available it's a single unisex bathroom, and plenty of parking. I ordered a sope and my friend had asada tacos. They were AMAZING! The best part was the habanero sauce. It was so good I wish I could have bought it alone. Best hot sauce I have ever had. I literally asked for a container to take home with me it was so good! Now the sope was amazing she said it was made out of corn masa not wheat flour. The chicken tinga was amazing too perfectly seasoned and juicy. People who don't like spicy will be fine they have it seasoned but not spicy at all just flavorful. The habanero sauce needs to be added for spice. The sauces they bring out with the chips is also amazing. I would gladly buy just their salsas they were so good and so flavorful! My favorite is the tomatillo and the habanero. Now living on the West Coast, I know the joys of a Taqueria but in all my visits to Florida, I'd never come across one! On a recent visit though good friends of mine introduced me to this one and I'm so glad they did. I took one look at the menu and we were in for a treat! All my Taqueria favorites were on hand plus a great selection of top shelf margaritas. I went ahead and ordered the jalapeño margarita which, if I'm being honest was a little bit disappointing. It had great flavor, but it wasn't spicy at all so it was more like a mild green chili. Margarita and I would still order it again, but I'd ask if the chilies were spicy. We ordered guacamole and the portion was huge! The chips were hot fresh and crispy and the housemade salsas were tasty too, but not really spicy. The server happily refilled all of it for us too! For dinner, I had to try the tacos. I went with Cochinita, Al pastor, and mole. First off the tortillas were well cooked and incredibly soft and tender the coach Anita was juicy and delicious and the Alpha store had a nice bit of heat and seasoning from the marinade. The flavor was a little sweet for me and the chicken, a little bit dry but still good flavor especially topped with their nice tart salsa. So I decided to go check them out because they had this chicharrón Dish That sounded interesting to a family member of mine. when we got there, there was nobody there, but one person sitting outside.the place is casual attire. They didn't have any Jamaican juice or horchata which was a bummer because that's what I was looking forward to. The chicharrón dish wasn't really all that tbh, is basically like a thin layer of fried cheese, rolled up into a mini long burrito, shape, and stuff with either chorizo or some type of meat. For my lack of knowledge I thought it was gonna be like a fried pork with cheese wrapped on the outside. The guacamole was actually really good and fresh. There is little seating inside and out. When I went, all the seats were taken and a family asked if they could sit outside, and they were told no. They'd have to wait 45 minutes. Have been wanting to try it here for a while, and finally made time this weekend. Super small establishment with big flavor. They have a about 7 tables total including inside and out, but do have table service. Perfect size menu, w great prices. Service was fine, there was one guy pretty much taking all the tables.. so he was in the weeds constantly. The second one table got up, another party would walk in, they are def the new hot spot in town. My husband got a burrito, while I opted for a taco variety. I'm always looking for good tacos & was definitely satisfied with my experience here. I was greeted immediately upon entering & our server came to the table quickly. The inside of the restaurant is on the smaller side, but that helps with the prompt service (they offer outdoor seating as well). Our server made sure to check in multiple times without making me feel like I was being watched & she was very pleasant. The food came out in what seemed like record time & everything tasted fresh. I loved my asada/al pastor tacos, the guacamole was outstanding (but could've used some more lime that I added myself), & the beans/rice were also tasty. Personally I'm not a huge fan of black beans but these were very good. The chips were warm & served with 2 different salsas. The green was delicious & had a nice kick to it but the orange one had a smoky flavor which I wasn't too crazy about. Great little Mexican restaurant in Coral Springs. The restaurant is small, but the food packs a punch. The service was outstanding. They brought chips and dips to the table for starters. The jalapeño dip was delicious and not spicy at all. For an appetizer we ordered the queso with chorizo. The chorizo was spicy but very flavorful. I ended up ordering a side of guacamole and chips, and the burrito with the grilled cheese on the outside. Let me say hands down the best burrito I've ever had. It had plenty of steak. The service was welcoming and helpful. The menu could use a better descriptions IMO. But staff can elaborate/explain the items in further detail. Started with a small complimentary chips (decent) & really small spicy salsa (didn't care for it). We ordered some tacos. From all the protein offerings we tried, the Cochinita, was the favorite. The churros were delicious. Especially with their version of a Dulce leche sauce. The hibiscus agua fresca was delightful. We took a cochinita burrito to-go as well. It was also yummy. Wow. This is some of the best Mexican food that I've ever had. Everything we ordered was amazingly fresh and flavorful. Tonight was my first time here and I'm already looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu. The restaurant starts each table off with a small basket of complimentary tortilla chips and two samples of house-made hot sauce (green and red). Each sauce is surprisingly complex. Rather than being mostly vinegar-based or citrusy, these hot sauces taste more vegetal and pepper-based. The texture is smooth and remarkably creamy. The red sauce is a little spicier with a hint of smokiness. The green sauce is a bit more mild, but equally delicious. I would buy them both in a heartbeat if Taco Real made them available by the bottle. I ordered the Taco Special, which comes with three tacos. I tried the cochinita, al pastor, and carnitas. The Taco Special plate is served with a side of refried black beans, rice, and a little thimble of guacamole (we also ordered an extra side of guacamole for our chips, which is pictured here). All of the tacos were excellent. My favorite was probably the carnitas, which were spectacularly rich and juicy. The menu here is excellent, the service is kind and attentive, and the food is clearly made with love. Taco Real is a perfect example of why supporting small, family-run businesses is so important. Restaurants like this bring real character and something culturally distinctive and special to our dining scene, which makes our community a better (and much more interesting) place. If you want more eclectic dining options, stop spending so much money at big corporate chain restaurants and start supporting small, family-run joints like Taco Real. My friend has been raving about Taco Real since first dining here last week so I had high expectations when I met her for dinner to check it out. Located in one of the many strip malls lining Sample Road in Coral Springs, the first thing you will notice when walking in is that the restaurant is cute but tiny. My friend and I and one other larger party filled the dining area. There are also a couple of tables out front on the sidewalk. We started out meal with complimentary chips and a spicy green sauce. My friend ordered several of their small sized street tacos for her meal and I chose a burrito with their recommended choice of protein. al pastor, seasoned pork roasted rotisserie style. I was very happy with my dinner choice. The burrito was large and packed with delicious flavor. For dessert they serve churros and the paletas the owner makes for her ice cream store in Jupiter. Fantastic new Mexican restaurant in Coral Springs. While the service is slow (only 1 waiter and 1 cook), the wait is 100% worth it. The sauces that come with the complimentary chips were delicious. Then they top that with your meat of choice, a thin layer of black beans, tomato, onion, avocado, Mayo, and the meat of your choice. Try the pastor or barbacoa! Lights out AMAZING!! Taco Real is a small place with big flavor. Well worth the visit! The menu has a large selection of authentic Mexican food with many vegetarian and vegan offerings! The selection of proteins goes beyond the usual chicken, pork and steak to things like regional mole and cochinita. They even have the Mexican delicacy, huitlacoche on the menu. When seated, you are served fresh tortilla chips with two spicy salsas - a smoky, creamy red and a creamy, green jalapeno. Both were packed up with flavor and a bit spicy. They have a nice selection of aqua frescas - I ordered tamarind which had a nice sweet/tart balance and wasn't too sweet as is common. It was hard to decide what tacos to order. Even though they were out of my favorite thing to order, Al Pastor - I still had trouble deciding what to order because of all of the choices. I decided on the Cochinita and Mole tacos, opting for strong, complex flavors. The mole was delicious. Probably the most complex, bold mole I've ever had. The taco itself was disappointing. It needed texture as the only thing on the taco was the meat and the thick sauce. As amazing as the mole was, I wouldn't order it as a taco again. The Cochinita was fantastic. Tried this place on a Sunday, mid afternoon. We were the only ones in the restaurant but I did notice a couple of people coming to pick up to go orders. They bring you out chips with two sauces and the chips were outstanding. They were warm and crispy and addictive! They came with two sauces one of them was a red sauce which had a smoky flavor which was good but not my favorite but the other one was delicious. I also ordered guacamole and the server suggested ordering just a side of it instead of the register size and I'm so glad she did because it was plentiful and we even took some home. I'd have to say this was some of the best guacamole I've ever eaten. For my meal I ordered two tacos, one Carnitas and one Carne Asada. They were both very, very good and I loved the green salsa that came with it. I also ordered a side of rice and a side of beans. The rice was ok, nothing special and I didn't like the beans at all. I guess I was expecting refried beans but they were black beans which I like but I just couldn't get past the consistency. They were very thick and kind of gummy. Popped into this spot in a strip mall. Lovely blue cafe tables outside, dark and cool inside. Friendly service even though there was a little bit of a language barrier, we were able to order the guacamole appetizer, and the pastor quesadilla as well as our margaritas. Best guacamole I've had in quite some time and huge serving with house made chips! Quesadilla was light and delicious. I decided to visit this spot twice before leaving a solid 5 star review. They are fairly new and easy to overlook. It's pretty small inside with limited seating. I did notice a lot of people were ordering to go. The customer service here is on point and everyone is super friendly. They pour their margaritas to the brim and the waitress literally walks at the pace of a slug to get them out to us without spilling a drop. Worth it. The tacos are street style, authentic Mexican food. On Tuesdays you can score 4 tacos for $10 and they honor that price even if you're not dining in. I can't rave enough about this place and will most definitely be a returning customer. read more
