This restaurant looks small from the outside but it was quite large inside for a strip center location. Parking was free and plentiful during the lunch hours. Inside, the staff is pleasant and speaks just enough English to communicate with us gringos. We were given menus and our beverages while choosing what to eat. The tacos were very good and the tortillas were so fresh. We ordered a variety to try a few. The Chorizo, alPastor, and Ground Beef were packed full of fresh proteins and toppings. I also ordered a Pork Skin taco thinking it would be a little crunchy but it was really just pretty fatty and I would not order it again. The rice and beans were also very good. I liked the complimentary basket of chips and salsa to start and I was a little surprised that they had a huge variety of menu items but no burritos. As were were finishing, the restaurant got more crowded and I figure during the dinner hours, this place would be very crowded because the food and service are great. They do charge and extra 4% credit card fee so we paid by cash. Huge portions I had the Bisteck ALa Mexicana that came with delicious homemade tortillas, it was so good and a huge portion. I also tried the tortilla soup that was ok although served a little cold. I order food on Taco Tuesday and during the week. I love their horchata, it's the best I've tasted so far in the community, it's not too sweet. I would like for them to add a dash of cinnamon to the cup when served. The tacos are authentic Mexican tacos and taste delicious. They took my order by phone and they speak both English and Spanish. A very unassuming establishment from the outside with a very dated and a little rundown interior but appreciated the Mexican theme inside. The music was a little bit too loud but not horrible. The toilets were not that clean but also not overly horrible. The waitress unfortunately could not speak English so there was a lot of pointing and nodding and Google translate. Was fun to order in Spanish. We did ask for the guacamole but it never came to the table. We got a very small amount of corn chips for the table with two salsas- tasty and a nice tummy filler while waiting for our dinner. My son wanted just a plain cheese quesadilla but it came fried as per the attached picture - he didn't enjoy it until the next day when he decided to take a bite. Family wanted to come here so we did at their request. The restaurant was not very busy so we got seated fairly quickly. Their menu is pretty extensive so after a few minutes of consideration we placed our order. The food was OK. Not bad but also not great. The tacos Al pastor were pretty fatty which is not a fan of. Both tasted fresh and were really good. After that, the service declined. We placed our orders for food and waited 30 for the two tacos to come out. After 10 more minutes the enchiladas were served. They use the white crumbling cheese....no shredded cheddar cheese here. The server never checked on us after the food was delivered. We would have liked more silver ware and chips. My friend went up to the bar to get the silverware since the server wasn't checking on us. Overall, food was good, but the lack of service makes me not want to rush ack. I love the food here! My favorites are the meat soups (white and red), red soup is only served on the weekend (it comes with so many toppings and veggies). But coming close second is the guacamole with chips, the michelada and the cheese pupusa, SO GOOD! The ladies that work there are nice and we always have good service. Dined here a while ago with a buddy of mine and realized that I had never finished this review. This little taqueria is tucked away in an unassuming plaza and their signage was really small so hard to see at night. I was hungry and really craving tacos so IN we went. When I entered, the place was empty, which was a little disconcerting to me, but it was also a little bit late and perhaps their dinner rush was over. We sat down, and our server spoke zero English, in fact, the staff in the back also spoke zero English. This would normally deter most people, but not me since in my opinion the more authentic the place feels, the more authentic food they are bound to have. I managed to speak what little broken Spanish I can speak, and ordered some tacos (they have a HUGE menu and have a lot of very Mexican offerings like beef tongue tacos, and "Tacos de cabeza" which is the meat from the head of the cow). So, judging by that, I knew this place was authentic. Food came out promptly and we were also served chips and salsa with one green salsa and one red salsa both which were very good. My tacos were decent, although a little greasier than I like, these almost seem like Mexican street tacos, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but they definitely were greasy. I think the fact that we also came in late at night might've contributed to this, maybe the cooks were tired and rushed when making the food...idk. Our server was really nice, but she just didn't speak any English and it was difficult to communicate with her and learn more about the menu and what they offer. I also ordered a flan as a dessert which was pretty basic, nothing to write home about. I want to give this place another shot, because I don't feel 3 stars really suits the place, but for my first experience there it seemed worthy of my 3 stars. My BF had the Huevos Rancheros with jamon. Delicious as well! While the restaurant is not super big or fancy the food is what will keep you coming back.
