El Paso has been a solid go to spot since I was introduced to it well over a decade ago plus. Living in Delray at the time it would be a for drive. I do sometimes stay over in Pompano and work in Creek that I make way more often there. They have great lunch and dinner specials weekly for great value on getting you fill for Mexican eatery. Ropa Viejo, chimichangas, tacos, fajitas and even seafood options for these items. A crab chimichanga is available. Amazing chicken soup. The vibes on point with the heritage, the staff has always been super sweet to me and I have seen them there since my introduction. They offer a great Luncheon Express M-F 11:30 - 3:00 pm I got the Chiquita Fajita lunch - $14.95, with tender strips of grilled chicken, on a sizzling platter of tomatoes, onions, and peppers, served with yellow rice, refried beans, pico de gallo, cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream (extra $), and flour tortillas. My wife was in the mood for Mexican, and after a quick look on Yelp decided to give El Paso Restaurant a try. The place has a very colorful and eclectic decor. Thee ambiance is casual and relaxed. We were promptly shown to a table and they quickly too care of our drink orders. Service was friendly. I opted for a churrasco stake. It came with a chimichurri sauce that was very tasty. This review has been waaaay too long overdue as I have been here at least 6-7 times with the family and the last time with the Orphans. This very authentic Mexican restaurant that has been at this location for many years and I can't imagine that we hadn't spotted this place earlier.... but better late than never! This restaurant is in a strip mall off Wiles Road West off 441 but don't let that stop you. On entering we noticed it to be a neat clean joint decorated in the traditional Mexican way which was quite quaint appearing. We were greeted warmly by our hostess who was a very pleasant lady. The Menu was extensive with Mexican, Spanish and Cuban dishes! The tastes of each and every dish we ordered was spot on so I'll let the pictures do the talking! A solid 4 stars. Restaurant itself is nothing to talk about. Simple place in strip mall with Mexican decor. Food wise the complimentary chips and 3 salsas are right on! We have the Supreme Fajitas - shrimp, steak, chicken - and may be best I've ever had. The other entree we had was a marisco chimichanga - crab inside with 2 shrimps on top. Last night was our first order and with he exception of a few items in the dishes (like black olives and mushrooms which not everyone likes) the food was DELICIOUS. We had the pizza App, except for the olives, delicious. I had the Chicken Quesadillas, My wife had the Vegetable Stir-Fry, also absolutely delicious, and my son a pork dish, which I tasted and liked, he was very satisfied. I don't usually like to order out from a place I've never been to. Hidden gem in Coral Springs with great Mexican food. El Paso has fantastic refried beans. The Chicken Soup, Seafood Soup, Shrimp Fajitas, and Chicken Enchiladas are all great. Of course I pulled out my Yelp app (gotta live by my motto) and found El Paso through the Yelp app, you know, being in doubt and all that. It is located in the corner of Riverside Drive and Wiles Road in a Publix plaza. It seems pretty much everything is located in a Publix plaza. It wasn't very busy and we were seated right away. The restaurant inside is quaint and picturesque. Lots of colors. The menu is quite extensive, it's got all the Mexican staples and some other Latin dishes. I had a bit of a hard time deciding what to get, everything sounded so good. In the end I decided to try the Burrito. My husband got the churrasco, which they claim it's as good as Argentinian steak... it was. Service was friendly and efficient. My only complaint is they were about to close and one of the waitresses kept shouting, and complaining, telling people to hurry along )restaurant staff not customers, but she was yelling so loud that we could all hear it). It was a bit annoying because I felt rushed. Other than that everything was great. I will definitely come back at some point to try more of their dishes. read more

After 3+ yrs if eating here I can say that I will NEVER eat here again. Asking a paying customer to pay 2.95 for a basket of chips( maybe I'm being cheap but...) that cost you .25 cents is pathetic, I have NEVER been to a Mexican restaurant that charges for chips no matter how many baskets you eat.. I was a bit hesitant as there are mixes reviews but then I noticed that the low rating were from a few years ago and the high ratings were posted most recently. El Paso is a small Mexican restaurant located in a small strip mall, it's clean with a few booths and tables, and very cute decor. I found service to be very friendly and quick. Excellent homemade chips and salsa, I had the chimichurri steak, it was cooked to a perfect medium rare as requested, it was extremely flavorful and tender, I couldn't believe it was only $12! It came served with white rice, plantains and a delicious side of black beans. My family were also very happy with their food, servings were large, everything was cooked fresh and to prepared to order, we took plenty of left overs. Overall, I am very happy gave El Paso a try, it is obvious a local favorite as the restaurant was full and the staff was familiar with most of the clientele. I wish people who gave it low ratings a few years ago would give it a second try and update their reviews because this is a small mom & pop shop, the ladies were hustling and bustling to keep all tables attended and the food was expertly prepared. I got my food to go and it was really good. It came with a side of sour cream and I was happy about that. Not very spicy, and the ground beef I didn't find great but the beef chunks as they call them were like pot roast consistency and really tender and delicious.
