    Tagliatelle al polli

Went here to celebrate my bf's dad's bday and it was a hit! Very attentive staff and the atmosphere is cozy and romantic - love the fairy lights I got the tagliatelle al Pollo and that was my fvaourite dish of the night! Everything went so well together, especially when there's a bite of the sundried tomato! The arancini was yummy but I expected the crust to have a bit more crunch. I tried my bf's pizza and it was ok - nothing to rave about. I also got a mocktail (forgot the name) and it was yummy as well. Overall, 8/10 and definitely would visit again Their house-made chilli oil was so spicy and delicious that I decided to buy a jar for home!

Very nice restaurant, with friendly staff and great portions! I've been to La Vecchia twice now, and both times have been lovely. The entire staff is pleasant and genial, and the food is consistently good. The shape of the restaurant can be a little bit awkward. The first time I was here, I sat toward the back of the restaurant, which felt a little bit narrow. The second time, I was near the front, which was much more typical. Both times I've been here, I've been completely full. This place stands out among Italian places in that it serves quality ingredients, but actually gives you enough to be satisfied. Looks like they've added some tasting menus... I'll have to be back to try them!

First time dinner a few weeks ago. Excellent overall. The food was as described and excellent pasta, caprese salad, penne arabiata, osso bucco fall off the bone soft. Shared a torta caramel- not overly sweet- délice. Service from Joey the server, Nick the manager , another lady walking around was excellent!! Will definitely be back.

We did a walk in and weee able to find a table for two. I had the daily special spinach pasta in tomato sauce and my friend tried a chicken pasta. Food was good. Served was very attentive. Restaurant's holiday decor is lovely. Prices though are on the higher side

I overall liked my experience here! It's nice and cozy, but not overly fancy. The ambiance is a bit dark. The menu has plenty of appetizers, pasta, and pizza options. The best thing we had was the sacchetti al tartufo pasta - it was rich, creamy, and delicious. I also really liked the tagliere di salumi (meat & cheese board) - the bread was surprisingly amazing and tasted really good with the fruit jam that it came with. The rest of the items were decent to good: - branzino alla griglia (nothing outstanding, I've had better fish elsewhere) - gioia pizza (sounded really good but tasted average) - rigatoni romani (it was a bit soggy and the flavours blended together in a way that didn't really make me enjoy the dish) The service was nice and friendly. The prices skew towards being more on the expensive side. It was a good spot for my boyfriend's mom's birthday dinner, and I would come back once in a while to try other items. 7/10

    Bufala Pizza & Penne All'arribbiata

Ambiance, food and our server were great from start to finish. Very dim lighting but works well with the aesthetics of the decor. We had the Bufala pizza and Penne All'arribbiata. The crust of the pizza was so thin but so crispy that helps the toppings stay on. Overall great experience

Came here for brunch with a friend and the service was amazing!! Such a fun time with a very Italian server named Alessandro who was attentive and such a character. The entire vibe of the restaurant is cozy with gorgeous vintage photos of Sophia Loren framed on the walls. For drinks we had mimosas, one pineapple and one mango, and a cappuccino. Definitely a good call. And for our meal we had a baked eggs dish with tomato sauce and Italian sausage, served with bread. It was both delicious and filling!

I was a part of a group of 10 early on a Saturday night. Decor is beautiful. Because of design it will become noisy. Attending to 10 people takes finesse. Waiter announces that he will start with drinks. And immediate goes to end of table by wall and works his way to the aisle. My wife and I are at the other end of table. He takes orders from except us. Then the drinks/wine starts being served and finally can get his attention and asked to order drinks. He gives me a little attitude that I didn't order when he was taking orders for the table. I pointed out that he never asked us. Food was served to 9 people in a timely manner The 10th who was the birthday girl had to wait almost 10 minutes for hers to be served. Yikes. I had the veal in a lemon sauce. There was nothing wrong with the cook but it just wasn't for me. I'm deducting 2 stars from 5. One for the attitude and one because everyone was not served at the same time. Ratings from others in the party were 5 stars for the steak special to 3 for the bolognese pasta. Excretory the noted exceptions service was fine.

August 20, 2024: Lunch with Slipp. This was pretty darn good. I had the Diavola Pizza. It was looked sparsely topped but it turned out to be just the right mixture of ingredients. It had jalapeno peppers, Italian sausage & goat cheese. It was creamy & delicious! They also served a foccoia with this tremendously delicious red pepper in oil topper that I tried & it burned my head off & I LOVED IT! Our server "Alex" was a solid server. He did miss my drink refill however. Not a big thing but I like to eat/drink the way I WANT to eat/drink. Although this location is right on Yonge street & was busy, it was reasonable to have an easy conversation.

Got their takeout and was extremely pleased with the portions and I definitely want to try dining in next time! I ordered: * Penne Alla Vodka * Bruschetta The food was so yummy, and very filling. This was enough for 4 meals!!

A few days back I went to this place in uptown and I had to share my experience here because everything was perfect! You'll feel like you've stepped into Italy as soon as you enter this place because of the cobblestone work inside and not to mention the staff who are amicable and will ensure you have an authentic Italian dining experience. We were hungry so we wanted to try their main dishes and ordered their four cheese pizza and tagliatelle al pollo to share. The tagliatelle was perfectly blended with pesto and sundried tomatoes- with the parmesan on top, it tasted delicious! The pizza was also top notch and I wished we tried the meat variations. Maybe next time! They also have a very large collection of wine that you can pair with your food that I'm surely going to try next time I'm there. However, for this time, we tried their Shirley temple that was also very well done.

Party of two, we ordered the clematis and white wine mussels for appetizers and the chicken pizza for main course. The muscles were so so I think the tomato sauce would probably have been more flavorful, but the calamari was to die for delicious flavourful and had a grill flavor. The two appetizer was were quite filling with the side of bread when the pizza came, we were quite full however, we tried it, and it was delicious. It took the remainder home and had it the next day warmed it up in an air fryer, and it was just as good, the service was good however we felt like we were constantly being interrupted because too many people came by to ask us too many times how the food was before sometimes we had even tried it. Our waiter was very friendly and pleasant however I don't think he knew the best recommendations on the menu and the ingredients and some of the items, the ambiance is cute place with beautiful decoration dim lighting very nice bar. Lots of cocktail options cocktails were quite pricey but the food was very reasonably priced will definitely be back and highly recommend this place.

We were down to the Berkeley venues and the Rosehill Venue. We chose the Rosehill and we had an amazing reception. Wish we could do it over, it was so great. Our wedding reception was on Oct 11, 2015 with about 200 people. Had a cocktail style reception with food stations. The best thing for us was the amazing customer service. The owner is so nice and caring. I am extremely indecisive and he made me feel so calm and assured that everything would be fine on the day of. With all the vendors I had to deal with, it was so refreshing to get to work with someone who is calm, caring and really tries their best to ensure you have a great day. We went with Pe Se Catering for the food, they were fabulous, I keep hearing how amazing the food was. We did 3 food stations laid out throughout the venue. It worked well. Also had passed hors d'oeuvres which was nice as the venue is so beautiful and people could just spread-out and the appetizers came to them. We bought our own DJ and the sound system was perfect, our DJ was so impressed with the sound system, he still claims it is the best he has ever spun at and he spins all over Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. There are so many golden aspects of this venue. To name a few, leather sofa's, so nice for people who want to chill. Then the venue comes totally equipped, you don't have to rent anything! They have the tables, chairs (nice ones too) and all the cutlery- just something you don't have to worry about or pay extra for. Then there is a private room in the basement that you can use, multiple washrooms and stalls, so no one is waiting to use the washroom and lastly TV screens. We played old black and white movies during our reception and took a break to show the Jay's game as it was an important game- our guests loved that we switched to the game and there are TV's spread throughout the venue that everyone could see them. Close to a subway and a parking lot right next door, when I say this place is perfect, I just can't find a negative thing to write. All my guests loved it. If your contemplating, don't....this place is perfect for any kind of event. The price is also great for a beautiful downtown Toronto venue.

It was my first time being here and I was impressed with the venue and the service. The name, Parkview Manor, suggests something exotic or traditional, maybe like an old mansion. Instead, it was a rather plain looking grey building with a large parking lot, in the middle of an industrial area. It was clean and in good repair but really had no character to it. Stepping inside, however, told a different story altogether. The reception/bar area was a bit small and cramped, making it a little hard for all the guests to move around comfortably. The passed hors d'oeuvres were plentiful, with a decent variety but tasted a bit ordinary. The main banquet room, with the head table, dining tables, and dance floor, was very spacious and beautifully decorated, with intimate lighting. Our meal was very good, maybe even excellent! We started with soup and salad, both served tableside. The main course had a properly cooked piece of salmon, a very tender steak, potatoes, and veggies. Dessert was chocolate mousse tart and creme brulee, served alternately. Other than the dessert being a tad sweet for my taste, the food quality was good. Kudos to our server, who was very friendly, engaging, and efficient! Having worked at one of the top banquet facilities in the GTA for ten years, the food and service here was top notch! If they had an area, indoor or outdoor, for photos, it would be perfect! The wedding, overall, was fantastic! Congratulations, Melissa and Brian!

But then I…read morethought about everything else, the antipasto, the dessert, the food stations, the service, and the insider info from my friend about how great the coordinator is. So I'm thinking...meh, why bring down a decent venue over some overcooked steak? Parkview Manor, like every other banquet hall, has a fairly boring exterior, but the inside is clean and well-presented with your typical banquet hall decor and chandeliers. TONS of parking, which is an advantage of being in a bland commercial area. The building is split into two areas so it's highly possible there are multiple events happening at the same time. Food, of course, is the number 1 priority as a wedding guest. As stated up front, the entree was bad. Really bad. The filet mignon was tough like leftover meat from boiled stew. The chicken, already expected to be underwhelming at a banquet hall, was especially bland. I suppose that's the risk of a 2-meat plate. But everything else made up for it, I think. The antipasto was plentiful and delicious, especially the smoked salmon and the giant parmesan cheese wheel. The dessert was a wonderful creme brulee. The oysters at the oyster bar were fresh and shucked before your eyes. Even the sweets table had some tasty cakes. Servers were quick and unnoticeable, which is a mark of a good banquet hall server. You don't want plates clanging against each other during a speech. The bottom line is I had a wonderful time here as a guest; food, service, and coordination being a huge part of that. So I can live with a little chewy beef. If you are planning a wedding at a banquet hall, I wouldn't pass on this. I hear the guy that coordinates the venue is fantastic. (50/100) - 2018

The event was a baby shower luncheon and the menu was very appropriate, with a variety of roving hors d'ouevres, salads, sandwiches, and desserts that satisfied everybody's appetite. The salads were all colourful, fresh, and tasty, with a good variety to choose from. The sandwiches - salmon, chicken, pulled pork, and vegetarian - were all delicious, as were the desserts. Personally, I would have preferred a tad less dressing on the salads but maybe that's just me. As I mentioned earlier, banquet food tends to flop when it is mass produced. But not here, the beef came out soft and juicy still and the fish actually tasted good.
