More than twice the price of a Costco pizza but only 2/3 the size and less than half as good on taste. Plus we had a bug on top of our pizza, which I get it- bugs exist even in restaurant kitchens- but this thing was right on top, like how did you miss it when you were cutting and putting it into the box. So we came in and the person at the register was apparently having a bad day. We called in an order and we we asked to pay it separately he rolled his eyes! Then charged my buddy 5.25 for a soda which is ridiculous I can go to 7/11 for cheaper! Also he kept switching it from cup to cup cause he couldn't get a lid to fit and made it flat. Sad to say, this is the Second time I ordered my pizza now (XL pepperoni) in 2 weeks and it was the worst tasting pizza and ended up in the trash, once again. Not sure what happened with the pizza quality lately but it has definitely gone down hill. La Verne Pizza Co. has always been our "go to" pizza place in La Verne. But something has changed with the preparation/quality of the pizzas lately. Pizza not cheesy like before. Drier crust and tasteless no matter how much Parmesan cheese and peppers you use. You can tell by looking at the pizza it is dry and not a lot of cheese like before. They say the Wisconsin cheese is what makes the pizza however in the last couple visits my pizzas have definitely lacked most of the cheese that is normally on the pizzas. Definitely not worth it. Too many other pizza places near or in La Verne alone. Not sure about their other locations, I can only say about the La Verne location. First time here. Tries the tuna sub and antipasta salad. Have to say. Def boring but not the worst. Very little tuna. Very dry sandwich. Just completely bland. Was no flavor. No anything. This place rocks! I was camping at Bonelli Bluffs RV Resort & Campground (see my review of them) and saw them delivering to someone. I asked and they said that the pizza was good. During my most recent trip there, I decided to give them a try, after all, we were "glamping", so why not. Now, I'm originally from NY and a bit of a pizza snob, however, I was very pleasantly surprised on how good it tasted. I ordered an extra cheese and pepperoni and also an antipasto salad. The pizza had just enough cheese and pepperoni. The salad had enough cold cuts, tomatoes, cheese, etc to make it delicious. The true test is how it tastes the next day cold. It passed with flying colors. I pulled a slice out of the fridge and ate it cold and it was still good, even cold. I'm sold! The guy at the counter with hat and glasses was very cool and friendly. I had 2 slices of pizza and they were pricy but huge. The pizza was hot and toasty when I got it, so they tossed it back in the oven before serving it. They were very accommodating by providing cheese, peppers and utensils. I've been to various pizza companies and this one lives up to the chain. The only complaint is that the pepperoni slice wasn't as loaded with toppings as they used to be. I get the turkey and cheese with a side of the Italian dressing. So good. I only give it four because depending on what day you go you can get the super fresh bread or the older bread.
