We didn't want to make the same mistake! My husband is Jewish and I was raised catholic so we decided a non denominational wedding with someone who would allow a little of both religions would be perfect. We didn't want the emphasis on religion as we just aren't religious! We did however want some of the traditions, like the breaking of the glass. All the rabbis and priests wouldn't do a "mix wedding" like we wanted, because you aren't supposed to pick and choose what parts of the ceremony you want In religion! Haha we wanted to do what we wanted on our day though, and Steve stood out when he said the day was whatever we wanted and he was happy to mix and match. He is confident and friendly and this comes across in his ceremonies. I had multiple people come up and say how great he was because the crowd was never bored! He even put in some humor when things could have gone wrong. He made us all so comfortable and the experience was more enjoyable than scary. He made the ceremony. Also he is reasonably priced for the skills he has in order to make a wedding flow perfectly. There's a ton more, but we're trying to be "succinct" here. =) I half joke that Elizabeth was not only our officiant but also my therapist in the time leading up to our wedding since I was a ball of anxiety planning everything. Elizabeth was EVER so patient and responsive with my flurry of nonstop emails and questions, as well as providing constant reassurance which I know was far beyond her job description. Elizabeth really goes above and beyond, not only providing a huge variety of personalized scripts for your wedding (if you so choose), professionalism of making the legal process very easy, but she also takes the time out of her personal life to get to know you as an individual and as a couple, so that if you choose, you do not feel like you are getting married by a stranger, but rather an old family friend. Backing it up a bit, I used to work in the wedding industry and had seen my fair share of wedding officiants, but Elizabeth always stood out as not only being a great, charismatic speaker - but she's so genuine. Surprisingly when my day came though, we looked elsewhere for officiants first. I know, I know - stupid, right? Well, we were getting married in Palm Springs and thought we should try to hire someone local - and yeesh, there were some horror stories there. (Almost literally with one lady who I swear could have doubled for either Fire Marshall Bill or The Cryptkeeper - but smothered in perfume.) Then we thought about the possibility of having someone we know do it, but that thought passed quickly. Having seen a bajillion weddings, it doesn't always go according to plan having a pal do it. So, I thought, even though the wedding is in Palm Springs, I'm gonna email Elizabeth. I'm soooo glad I did. We didn't have many requirements for our ceremony, and while we didn't want it to be 45 minutes long, we also didn't want it to be 5 minutes long. (I think we ended up at a good 15 or so.) We told her we didn't want any talk of God, but also nothing too hippie dippy either. She always responded immediately to emails and gave us lots of ideas for not only readings, but special touches and the order of the whole thing. She even suggested this thing where the rings were passed through the bridal party to be sorta "blessed" with well wishes - we did it and, while it may sound cheesy writing it here - it definitely brought a tear to my eye. Oh! I didn't even mention all the other stuff - like how she filed all the paperwork for us, and how she had our vows and readings all printed up on very nice paper (vellum overlay even!), and even gave us a nice CD as a wedding gift. I was thoroughly impressed. We just loved how Elizabeth "got" us, and was super helpful in making our ceremony so special to us.

And Nico certainly delivered with his background in screenwriting/filmmaking. From a video interview and couple questionnaires, he was able to craft a wonderful retelling of my love story with my partner. He then tied it all together with a movie quote from one my favorite films When Harry Met Sally. I don't think I could've told it any better! Before the ceremony, I was a bit nervous. But Nico put my partner and I at ease by going over a quick gameplan with us. And everything ran smoothly. The crowd was full of joy and laughs. During the reception, multiple guests came up to us and raved about Nico and said it was one of the best ceremonies they have ever attended.
