On a side note, the owner's cute little dog charmed my wife, the shelter volunteer. At the beginning, the dog was wandering around and Gayle wasn't sure if he/she had a person. I looked up and told her that we can't the dog back with us to the USA. Her answer (and this wasn't her first dog siting in Spain) was that she'd already done the research and she agreed that it would be almost impossible to do so. But she still stayed on the case until she confirmed that it was indeed the owner's dog. La Yaya Amelia may not be the Catalan version of the French Laundry, but it was a damn fine place to eat. We both ordered off the "specials" list, me choosing steak and Gayle opting for fish. Add wine, bread, homemade dessert, and expresso, we left full and happy. Our service was great, yet the guy running the place seemed a little worn out and sad, as we were the business so far in the evening.
