I came in as a walk in for labs on a Saturday morning as soon as they opened. I was called back after about 10 minutes and the phlebotomist did a wonderful job, she was very skilled as my veins are not easy to work with. I have always had a great experience with the technicians capabilities and no problem with the system WITH an appointment. However I recently went to get blood work done with appointment. The order was sent via computer to lab corp. I used the wait in the car option getting there about 20 minutes before the appt time. As it got closer to the time I decided to wait inside. When I got there I was told that "the system was down". So not only was I not able to get the work done since I didn't have a physical paper order, but I would still probably be sitting in the car because no one contacted me to let me know there was a problem ( possible they were not able to access since the system was done?). Was not at all happy about my wasted time specially since I was fasting!!!!!! read more

If I could give a -1000 review I would. The phlebotomists working there are incompetent and there is malpractice or riding the line of malpractice. I've been stuck as many as three times with the same needle which is no longer sharp or sterile and had my arm bruised so badly I went to urgent care. I have gone there 6 times because I didn't realize there were other locations. I'm just moved from LA. Every time I've gone with the except ONCE, I've had a minor injury and bruising from incompetent phlebotomists. I've no idea how they got their job other than race. No Asians, no white people, nothing but African-Americans work here. There are many employees, so how can that be? Only once I had an excellent phlebotomist who is floating part time post baby, formerly full-time at Johns Hopkins. she was excellent and she was Asian by the way. I am from a mixed family, so let me be clear, it seems that the only criteria for hiring at this location is being African-American Since they have about 20 employees and none of them are white, Asian, Latino, or any other race. The ONLY medically appropriate and non-negligent criteria must be competence, professionalism, experience, and bedside manner (they are extremely rude) with all being reviewed regularly - especially when so many patients complain. The protocol for phlebotomy Requires no more than 2 attempts by the same phlebotomist before switching to a different one. . states quite clearly that a patient is never to be stuck more than 2 times by the same person. Each time a NEW STERILE SHARP needle must be used or bacteria is injected into the vein. You've heard of eighth right? That's how you get it. That is the same with any disease when a needle is not sterile and it is put into a vein. Additionally they are supposed to move to the other arm to avoid extensive damage and bruising. What they do is malpractice. Always insist on taking a buddy in with you. Even if you have to come up with the cockamamie story to allow it. Insist upon it - Make sure you have a witness. If you become ill, you need a witness of the practices. Thank God that is what I did when I got hurt. And it did result in mediocre change. Never let use the same needle And if they are rude, which they almost always are, ask for a manager and request a different phlebotomist telling them the one you had was rude. They will give you a different one. If that one is rude, make a fuss. I did that last time. It was a huge fuss. I made sure everyone in the waiting room knew what happened to me. I forgot to say that the protocol calls for a second person to draw blood after one person has two misses. Finally, you will wait FOREVER to see someone even on a good day. It would faster to drive to a local like Aberdeen, use someone who knows what they're doing, and not have a wait. Every person deserves to be treated professionally, without a chance of harm, and with care. I don't care if you are a felon, a homeless person, or a millionaire. Everyone patient, has the right for their body to be cared about by a medical professional. And they know that is a mandate. They know they're not doing so is negligent. And they know they're not doing anything about that negligence is grounds for a lawsuit. And you will win. Let them know that, and let them know that the word lawsuit, even in Spanish is part of your vocabulary. read more

I have never seen a dirtier, more disgusting patient bathroom in any medical facility in my life. It's sickening to even think of going back here. FYI the bathroom in question was not a public restroom but a bathroom located with in a blood draw room which is used to collect samples. read more

I took my 86 yr old mother to Labcorp in Dundalk on Merritt Blvd. Worse experience I ever had dealing with so called "medical professionals". This is the second time I have had a negative experience at that location. The staff, today it was "STANLEY", who would not give me his last name. He was disrespectful to a man who was trying to register on one of those kiosks. He was confused and was refused help when he asked STANLEY to help him. He couldn't read! Guess who helped that poor man! Not STANLEY...me! And he was rude to several other patients that were there. When I called his attention to how disrespectful he was being, he asked me if I could do a better job?!!! I worked in the medical field for 15 years so yes, I could do his job, and much better than him. People going for lab work most likely are having it done for a reason and they might not feel good. People in the medical field need to be empathetic, patient, and sympathetic. STANLEY was none of those. read more

This was one of the worst experiences of my life in a medical facility. The place is totally disgusting. Dirty. The workers are unhygienic and smell like cigarette smoke. And, most importantly, they are incompetent. They tried to take blood from my daughter by poking around 9 times. PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE!!! Had the worst experience early this morning going to have blood work at lab Corp on Merritt Blvd. The girl couldn't get blood and pushed the niddle in my vain so deep that I felt it came out on the other side of my vain A burning pain was so bad that I started crying Then she tried the other hand to take the blood. My arm feels numb and burns. Even though she applied ice still is swollen and hurts. Her comment was. "Oh come on now don't cry. ". I was the one apologizing for crying not her for the pain she was making me go though I am a tailor and I have to work all day today. It's my right arm that I use to work. It will be a painfull day. I hope the corporate office will do something about it. Hire more professional people than anybody that don't know what they are doing I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN read more

As a famous baseball announcer once said,"UNBELIEVABLE....I don't believe what I just saw!" When I entered the facility there were already clients standing out in the corridor waiting to be tested! Some had been there for more than an hour! CORPORATE....this makes no sense to staff an already overrun office with just (2) TWO employees on any given day especially a Friday smh! I entered at 10:20am and approximately TWO HOURS LATER at 12:20pm I still hadn't been seen! That was the WORSE EXPERIENCE in a health care facility I've ever seen. CORPORATE....you guys need to take a closer look at restaffing possibilities for this and all other understaffed locations. I almost cried when I saw INCONTINENT SENIOR CITIZENS waiting not only for there APPOINTMENTS but asking to use the bathroom then immediately leaving after that....smh! Later on that day I managed to go to another LABCORP that was FULLY STAFFED and was done in 20 minutes! The moral for you CORPORATE is FULLY STAFFED. Not employees quitting on us....being transferred on us and then the public has to suffer for it. Oh and finally there was NO COVID-19 PROTOCOL BEING FOLLOWED EITHER! There were too many clients in the office "not social distancing" at all. The other reviewers clearly had bad experiences, but I had the opposite experience. I went to this Labcorp location after having a bad experience at another one. The other location resulted in too many sticks without result, somewhat rude staff. But at the Merritt location, I had a great experience. The person who drew my blood was professional, very competent, and on top of it, was just a pleasant person to be around. I should have caught her name because I will seek her out in the future. read more

No change from my last horrible visit, except that there is now an automated check-in kiosk that didn't work very well. But even it was better than the front-desk person who was bored and rude, after I waited 30 minutes just to check in. I will never go back. I had my blood drawn 2 days ago by a student at Labcorp. She was absolutely the worst!! It hurt like h*** and caused severe bruising and pain along the inside of my elbow and down my forearm. I had my blood drawn numerous times in the past (not by Labcorp) and know what to expect. This was highly unusual!! Will NEVER go back!!! read more

This place is unhygienic and disgusting. Apparently they had a 'facelift' last month, but they forgot that their real reason for operating was providing health care services. I went in for tests. They handed me a paper cup with a lid that looked like I was going to get coffee. No wipes like usual. I get into the bathroom , and no wipes. Their directions clearly state that you were "given" the sanitary wipes. The paper towels were on the floor - disgusting - right??? AND when I finished THAT'S when I realized they have NO SOAP or hand sanitizer in the bathroom. I can't tell you how nauseous that made me. Everyone who uses that bathroom walks out the door touching the handle with their germy hands. Yikes. And that 's not all. When we were in the waiting room, a blood drawer came out with her gloves on and got a cup of water from the dispenser. With her contaminated gloves. And touched the door with her contaminated gloves. My unobservant husband asked me if I had noticed. Wow. So when I went back, they told me to pick up my urine sample from the desk where it had sat, out of my eyesight for 10+ minutes. I said, "No I will not unless you give me a glove." She was startled but immediately agreed and led me to the glove box. I asked to speak with the Office Manager who was a joke. She said, "We use the bathroom for drug testing so we can't have soap in there. I don't make the rules, I just follow them." Wow - Really? I used the hand sanitizer, left, and contacted the company to register my complaint. Not surprisingly they haven't responded. Never go here. If you are paying for lab work, you should expect AT THE MINIMUM for them to be hygienic. read more
