The reason this Labcorp runs inefficiently is because phlebotomists are used as front desk employees simultaneously. I'm not sure if that's greed from the owner of this specific location. Other locations such as East LA Labcorp have a designated front desk who can answer questions and deal with insurance inquiries. Having phlebotomist run a front desk while drawing blood is extremely odd. So that being said-- the wait is long. A lot of people come in and have a cough and ventilation is not great so there's a chance you might catch something. One of the check in machines was down and another patron kept hogging one of the machines because her appointment wasn't popping up (meanwhile there's no one at the front desk because they're currently drawing blood). I would not recommend coming to this location. read more

I chose this LabCorp because the ones closer to where I am had horrible reviews. This one seemed better. I got there and both the outer lobby and the inner lobby were both packed with people so no place to sit. Both of the kiosks where they want you to check in with a QR code did not work that day. The reason why I'm giving it five stars is because the staff was friendly, the facilities are clean and I was able to go down the hall into the bathroom to get my sample and just drop it in a little box after I signed in and left. Easy Peezy for what I was there for but if I had to get my blood drawn, I don't know if they would've honored my 11:15 appointment time. They seem to overbook and nobody wants to sit in a crowded lobby with sick people but it worked out for me seamlessly this visit so I'm grateful for that. There were no available appointment slots online so I came early as a walk-in. I was first in line with four other people following shortly thereafter at the opening time of 7 AM. As for the girl in the front, Tanya, she was insanely rude not just to the patients but also to the staff. The way she spoke to people was absurd. MISMANAGEMENT. This office was once efficient with snappy wait times for walk-ins. Today, as a walk-in, when I checked in using the in-office kiosk the wait time was shown as 2.5 hours, and went on to prompt me to make an appointment. That seems excessive, but at least they are now stating the length of time the heart of your day will be cut out. [Edit: this is not true.] Clearly, this establishment cannot keep up with demand. Also, they state on their website that "appointments recommended." Ok, great, but whenever I try to make an appointment online, the first opening is always a week or more(!) away. That's fine for a drug test, but what if I have an urgent need for labwork? I repeat: This establishment cannot keep up with demand. Care quality plus-3, office experience minus-3. Edit, later that same day: Warning: If you check in at the lab kiosk at, say, 10:30am and there are many appointments and walk-ins ahead of you, and you opt to wait "comfortably in your car" (or go home) until the estimated time 2-1/2 hours hence, and return a few minutes before 1pm (following instructions texted to you), and you click "I AM HERE" on your phone... congratulations, you have just checked in AGAIN with absolutely no credit for coming in at 10:45. Yep, you just started over from scratch, and your day is shot. Does that sound reasonable? Edit, the next day after visiting another office, the Allesandro branch in Pasadena: I arrived around 8:45am to find the hallway full of 9 workmen waiting for (I'm guessing) employer drug tests, and the enlarged waiting room more than half full. When I checked into the kiosk, the estimated wait time was 3 hours 35 minutes. I looked more carefully at my options and saw words to the effect that if I chose to come back in 3 hours I might lose my place in line. I chose to leave, but not before asking at the desk about the best time to arrive if I didn't want to wait 7-12 days for an appointment, or 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 hours hanging out as a walk-in. The answer was, "It's always like this. Your best chance for an in-and-out is at 6:30am when we open." Clients who have the luxury of waiting for days and weeks for an appointment obviously do not have a need for immediate labwork. Yet they are given priority over sick people (and other walk-ins) who do need timely results, and who are probably already too miserable to appreciate a 3-hour wait in chairs. This seem ass-backwards but unavoidable. Message to Labcorp corporate uberlords: Why not, at least, tweak your kiosk algorithm and/or verbiage to actually do what it says? When the screen says 'Your visit is confirmed... Your visit is SCHEDULED for today between 12:00 and 12:30pm," honor that! It's beyond infuriating to discover that there is no schedule, no honor, and you'll be starting over at noon for an even longer wait at an even busier time of day, even though you first arrived at 8:45am. My other suggestion, you cheap *deleted*, is hire more people. Quest Diagnostics is looking better and better. read more

My experience with this Labcorp was nothing but pleasant! The staff are quite friendly and the office clean and not crowded. I made an appointment through the Labcorp app for my regular bloodwork and voila! Right on the dot they took me in, poked and done in a jiffy! The technician who helped me did her job expeditiously and carefully, you can really tell she has done this a million times! No soon that she poked the needle in my arms, it was off almost to the blink of an eye (ok.. maybe 6 blinks lol) Overall, I highly recommend this Labcorp but I HIGHLY recommend making an appointment. read more

Please do yourself a favor, wake up early and get there before they open. That way you can get in and out quickly. The staff is always wonderful. The receptionist is fabulous, fantastic energy. Does a damn good job. The phlebotomist that did my blood work today was name Vicki, and she was fabulous too. It was quick, painless, and I was in and out quickly. Needed to get some labs done that my MD ordered. Was told by my MD nurse about this location. Arrived early in the morning and already there were a few people inside waiting their turn. Since I didn't make an appointment, I needed to register myself in by using one of the kiosks in the waiting area. Very simple to use and didn't take very long. Short wait in the waiting area. Only a few chairs available. Social distancing. Once it's your turn, there's only one restroom so try not to take too long getting your urine sample into the cup because there are other people waiting to-do the same thing. The restroom was clean, but they really need more than one restroom. Some people take too long peeing into the cup. Afterwards, bring your sample/cup out of the restroom and place it into a tray with the other urine samples. Don't worry, your cup is labeled. Getting my blood drawn was next. There are several booths to sit in. The lab tech will direct you to one of the booths to sit in. The chair has an arm rest so that it's easy for the technician to draw your blood. The whole process was simple and fairly quick. There's a parking garage next to the lab. read more

Of all the superlatives to receive; I most certainly wish that one of my achievements/accolades wasn't, "Most blood tests drawn" and yet here we are. Unfortunately, I have a list of chronic (and one terminal) illnesses that seem to be growing by the minute. People often ask me, "What DON'T you have?!" This means that I am a close friend of blood labs and am thankful I am not afraid of needles. I've been to countless Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp locations and I can firmly say LabCorp is the better of the two alternatives. I'm always glad when I am referred to LabCorp. Although, that isn't to say all LabCorp locations are great... this one is indeed. The Glendale location of LabCorp is located on the Glendale Dignity Health Hospital campus near the intersection of San Fernando/Central in a poignant medical building. Parking is easy-peasy and literally steps away from LabCorp's doors on the first floor by the entrance. Just be prepared to pay a few bucks for parking (shockingly, it isn't an arm and a leg!). This was my second time at this location (I wasn't able to review the first visit because they had changed floors and there was no Yelp listing yet and the other was listed as 'closed'). That's how wonderful this location is that I bypass closer ones and trek a few extra miles to Glendale to visit this LabCorp location. Here is the deal: this LabCorp location is the nicest, cleanest, most modern location. The lobby, although could use more chairs; is super inviting, bright with natural light and complete with colorful splashes of wall paint and floral art work. Some other locations - ahem, Burbank! - are dirty, untidy and truly make you uncomfortable to have your blood drawn. Imagine how bad their competitor Quest is! Alas, do not fret as both the front and back offices here are excellently managed. One of the perks of LabCorp is the ease of making online appointments which are always recommended over walk-ins especially because appointments are booked weeks ahead of time!  Plus, you can check-in on your phone upon arrival through text versus talking to the receptionist or the check-in kiosk in the lobby. My only chief complaint about this tech-forward method is that the receptionists never acknowledge your mobile check-in and I always worry that it didn't go through. That is the case at this Glendale location. Tip to LabCorp receptionists: please acknowledge us! During both visits I was called back after my scheduled appointment time but not so late that I turned into a skeleton waiting. But the main godsend at this LabCorp is the phlebotomists. I have veins that 'turn' and can be tricky to prick which results in poking around or bruising afterwards.  The girls here always manage to get it on the first try with the lightest touch: you hardly even realize that there is a needle in your arm! In fact, as I compose this review the next day, I have no bruising, no discoloration and can't even see a needle prick! Did I have any posterior arm pain? Nope! This is genuinely unheard of! The biggest qualm with LabCorp, aside from them always being booked weeks in advance, is that LabCorp takes seven days to post your test results on their online portal. I believe that your doctor receives the results sooner but they should up the posting time for the actual patients to view. Note: at the time of this review, LabCorp still requires masks but they can provide you with one. If you are sent for lab testing at LabCorp; this is the location to choose if you are remotely nearby (and even if not! It is worth the drive!). A clean, modern environment and phlebotomists who actually know what they are doing is the only way you can feel any comfort when undergoing an uncomfortable procedure even as simple as drawing blood or urinating in a cup. I will most certainly aim to return to this location - and with my health; there WILL be a next time! read more

It's so random to leave a review for a labwork clinic, but I just have to for this particular Labcorp. I am the biggest hater of Quest, so that just makes me appreciate this Labcorp even more. I have never made an appointment before but they have always accommodated my walk-ins. The wait is never long at all (especially if you come early in the morning). I think this is because everyone is just so efficient and they prioritize speed. Everyone has great customer service as well, from the receptionists to every phlebotomist I have met. I've been here twice, once with an appointment and once as a walk in when my doctor ordered more labs. If you have an appointment, it's easy to sign up for one online, and they send you an email link where you can check in and then wait in your car until they're ready. If you don't have an appointment, they can check you in at a kiosk which scans your license and insurance card. A very easy process. Also, they're phlebotomists are amazing! Every other time I've had my blood drawn they've needed to use a butterfly and I leave bruised because it takes awhile, but here they can get blood out of my left arm, unheard of for me! I had my bloodwork taken. The technician had a true aim but she was too firm. She held the needle firmly in my arm while taking the blood which no other person there has done before. They usually just softly hold it in place. It was uncomfortable. Maybe she was afraid the needle would come out. Also, the reception person had her mask on BELOW her nose the entire time I was there. This is very disappointing not only for the people that are coming there who may be ill and needing blood work but also for her fellow employees who have to be in the office with her all day. This is a Medical Office. It's really unbelievable during Covid-19 and beyond unprofessional. I used the system of checking in online. It didn't work. I was never called and had to check in to let her know I was there just like in the old days. Why even bother with this new system. Bathroom was a mess and you're supposed to provide a sterile urine sample in here? See pics. No paper towels. I was lucky there was ONE alcohol towelette packet in the basket. Toilet paper on the table where everyone touches in order to pull some paper. Air blower blew frigid cold air. Nothing sterile about that. BUT there was a paper towel holder filled with paper towels for the staff in the area where they were. Appointments are encouraged or that's all that's allowed at certain locations, so had to wait about a month to find a time that worked for my fasting laboratory work in addition to my work schedule. Made an appointment, come to find out regardless of appointment or not, everyone has to wait in a line outside, as only 4 people are allowed inside at once. When you check in, it is on a kiosk. Overall waited about 20 min after my scheduled appt time to get into the waiting room. Not sure if all locations are like this due to covid protocols but it would be nice to know ahead of time. If I could give half a star, I would. I've had a lot of blood draws in my life and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. They spelled my name wrong, and because their copy machine was printing stuff too dark they made me prove my own name by showing two forms of ID. The place is under construction which gave it bad vibes to begin with- you walk in and hear people crying and kids screaming. The room I had the blood draw in had two chairs and a bed, so absolutely zero privacy. The actual blood draw was explicitly awful. She didn't tell me when she was inserting the needle, then she had trouble keeping it straight because she couldn't put the new vial on. It was insanely painful and I cried the entire time. To top it off, she was incredibly rude and unsympathetic. At the end of the blood draw, she asked if WE had water!!! Like...what?? And then she was annoyed when we said we didn't and she went off to grab some. She comes back in, hands it to me, says nothing, and just walks out. I was bawling. Very good experience! I went in this morning around 10:30 and walked right up and registered. There were very few patients in the room and everyone was masked and keeping their distance and there were 2 people at the window. I asked for Vera, because I had read several Yelp reviews saying the she was the best! Very gentle and a good experience for them. She said she was Vera! I told her she came highly recommended on Yelp and could she draw my blood? She said yes in 5 minutes! I told her I hated blood draws and she was so gentle I didn't even feel the needle or her filling 3 vials! It was over in seconds and when I got home there was no blood on the cotton or even a puncture wound and I'm on a blood thinner! I couldn't believe it. I told her I'd hug her but not during the pandemic. Instead I'd leave her a 5-star Yelp review! She laughed and thanked me. Very sweet lady! read more

The check in process was smoothe and the nurses were efficient in the reception area. However, when I got my blood drawn, my nurse (a heavy set filipina) wiggled around the needle trying to find a vein.
