I went in for routine blood work. I scheduled an appointment online and received a link. On the day of the appointment I was able to easily park (around 1:30 on a Thursday). On the link I checked in and the instruction was to await a text (I waited in my car). I was texted within 3 minutes that I could wait in the office. All of the chairs were properly distanced, I was checked in by a friendly receptionist right away and was called for the bloodwork within 5 minutes of giving my name. This is the worst lab I've ever experienced. No customer service, snotty, entitled front desk staff, and bitchy phlebotomist with NO customer service skills (S Rios). Front desk told me the wait was 1 hour which turned into 1.5 hours plus. I missed my doctor office visit across town because of the line at the lab. When I finally got to the phlebotomist, she was just defensive about how crappy things are and it's not her fault and if I had complaints to just talk to the corporate office. Really? Is that the best service you got? Unbelievable. I can see from other reviews that this place's management doesn't care about their clients - must not care either as all the reviews are unanswered or fixed over time. Why doesn't LabCorp have offices with off hours as a normal part of their business plan? People don't have schedules that they can take time off work to have their labs done, yet all offices are Mon-Fri 8-5, when the rest of us are working. Some have Sat "by appointment only" with minimal hours, but they are always booked months in advance. LabCorp - improve your business model or you will be replaced as the complaints come into the doctor offices. Having customers is an honor not an entitlement. Another note - I don't usually leave negative reviews as I don't think they are helpful, unless like in this case, they are absolutely horrible. read more

I went to have bloodwork done. I had fasted since midnight. It was 1:46pm. I had an appointment. My appointment was scheduled for 12:45. I waited for an hour and 20 minutes. Still waiting. This is the longest I have ever had to wait as I have to be in Fountain Valley by 2:50. People who came after me were called in before me for their bloodwork. I will just go to another location next time or not come in on a Monday. Otherwise the front desk ladies were nice (but I got bypassed as an appointment) and my lab tech was apolegetic, very good at what she does (didn't feel the needle, was quick and professional). read more

They were pretty quick. Had to take my kids to have blood drawn and urine tests. It's ok clean, bathroom could be a little cleaner. The lady that took my sons blood was nice. My kids are afraid of needles - she was ok and got it in the first try YAY! I'd go back and it's super close to home. read more

Not sure if LabCorp is actually trying to make matters worse in their operations. They've implemented tablet check-ins and this process pushes the data input effort onto the customer and off the staff. Problem is the tablets are not easy to use! Some of the numbers and letters are not responsive & the stand rocks back and forth as you tap your information in. All of the investment into this system and no one noticed the stands move?? Then you place your ID & insurance card(s) into a tray to be scanned. Guess what happens? The scanners cant read the cards, so it's up to you to hand input the data! All of the necessary data for LabCorp to bill is needed and there's a ton more of tablet tapping needed to get it right. Not sure if Quest, LabCorps Competition is any better, but this is beyond ridiculous. The only reason I gave any stars to the review is because the phlebotomists are great to work with. This place has gone down the drain... the kiosks are simple to use however if you are elderly, language disabled. Or technology disabled (as most elderly are) these arent helpful.. let alone the receptionists. They were rude and inefficient. You can tell there are people unable to use this system and they just sat there allowing the line to get longer.. didnt even bother to ask if they needed help let alone offer it.. they didnt even acknowledge people walking in. And when ppl asked a question they were rude in answering and helping people could have gone without the eye rolls the lady with the huge rock on her finger maybe she should trade it in for manners.. Worst experience ever. Quoted me 1 hour and 30 minutes and I've been waiting for 2 hours. The staff is so rude and if you ask them where you are on the list they ridicule you and make you feel stupid for even asking. Why are there no independent laboratories around? If there were, we could avoid having to be victimized by corporations like labcorp and quest who have abandoned any idea of customer service in favor of creating a 3rd world healthcare system where fasting patients wait for hours to get their blood drawn in a lab that is ridiculously understaffed. When I walked in at 815 on a Saturday, I counted 42 people waiting in the lobby, where there is seating for 20. This location at least has 4 people working at it, unlike many, where there is a single employee, but clearly understaffing is labcorp's main strategy for maximizing profits. The good news is that in the hour I've been waiting so far, I've managed to formulate a business plan to open an independent lab that will actually take patients' needs into account. read more

I have been helped by her several times now and she's courteous and finds the right spot to take the blood like a pro, I've been to other facilities where there can't find the spot and getting poked 4 or 5 times is a problem! read more

It really does take one bad apple to turn a visit from good to bad. Pros: 1- Plenty of parking and the location is easy to get to. 2- Facility is large and clean. 3- MOST of the staff were friendly. 4- Young lady drawing my blood was pleasant to work with. Cons: 1- When the young woman at the front called my name I couldn't understand her, not because of her accent but because I have a hearing loss. When I requested she repeat the name, she did so and I quickly went to the front where she rolled her eyes at me and raised her arms up like I was being some racist and disrespectful and said "Yeah, okay I have an accent so what." Due to her actions I made it a point to explain to her that I apologize for the inconvenience, however I have a hearing loss and cannot always make out pronunciations. She quickly back peddled, but did not apologize for her misunderstanding. Very unprofessional and I will be using other facilities moving forward. read more

I needed labwork to be done and through my health insurance, Blue Shield HMO, I was referred to Labcorp. I have been to one in Anaheim and was not impressed. I found this location in Lakewood off of South Street and Downey Avenue. I made an appointment online which was really easy and when I arrived, even though I was 45 minutes early, I didn't have to wait too long because there were only a few walk-ins on a Friday morning. I had the fasting blood work so I was seen in a matter of minutes and the staff were organized and clean (which I love). The lab results take 2-5 business days to be processed and sent to your provider. I don't mind coming back:-) read more

I've been here several times with my mom, whom doesn't speak English. Staff are always so rude, you ask them a question and it's like your asking them to borrow money. They stare at you like they have no clue what your talking about. They have no customer service skills. Today I come and it looks like there are some administration staff here as well, they too are rude. No smiles just complete Resting Bitch Face. I made an appointment online for my son to have bloodwork done. We went on a Saturday morning. The kiosk check-in went very smooth. We we're called in almost immediately. Altogether we were in and out in 10 minutes. We were nervous how this would go because my 16 year old son is super squeamish and the last time it took him forever to finally calm down. His lab tech was SO nice and understanding. She put him at ease and I could not believe how fast she was. Thank you! read more

I usually come here and never really know if I'll get friendly technicians or not. As long as they are effective and careful when drawing my blood, I don't mind their disposition. Today, however, I experienced horrible service by two sour and surly women. The first tech could not find a vein and decided to double band my arm so tight I was in acute pain. Then she inserted the needle and began talking to someone passing by, u instead of focusing on drawing my blood. She finally returned to what she was doing and began to move the needle around searching for a vein. It hurt! She stopped and called another surly tech to help her. This tech redid the band ever tighter! She aggressively rubbed alcohol on my arm not caring that it stung where a needle had just been inserted. She then pressed roughly on my arm before JABBING the needle in my arm. She drew blood. Thank God it was just one tube. I practically ran out of there as soon as she released the band. These techs obviously don't like their jobs and have no idea about customer service. If I ever see them again, I will refuse that they draw my blood. I gave two stars because the front desk employees were friendly and efficient. read more

The staff is ghetto as hell. When they ask questions of the patient they talk down to him/her as if everyone coming here should already know LabCorp's operations. People who are referred here by their physicians most likely come here not feeling well, and are looking for answers via blood work. To have staff working here, in this type of business, who are incapable of demonstrating the most basic level of empathy is low class and trashy. Straight up: It's like somebody went to TJ, picked up a bunch of girls, brought them back to the US, and then taught them how to poke arms. Does anyone get excited to go get blood work done? Really? Went in and checked into the electronic kiosk machine at the front counter. Was greeted by a very friendly and helpful young lady. Was there as a walk-in and waited a total of 5 minutes before being called to the back. Waiting room and surrounding area was clean and appeared sanitary. The area where blood is drawn is pretty open and a little light on privacy since there's only a small wall separating the area and no curtains or doors. Woman that drew the blood was friendly and did a great job. No pain no bruising. Was in and out in under 30 minutes. If you have a choice of where you can go for blood work this place is well ran with a friendly staff. read more

I got more and more sadden the longer I waited due to the horrible treatment the seniors citizens receive. I saw time and time non tech savvy seniors getting barked at go do the self check in. This has to be terrifying to a seniors who don't touch, own, or operate computers. These folk were between 70-80 years (I only know this as most stated ages) and then said don't know what to do). How about a dedicated staff member doing check-in's for those who need assistance. I observed a clients wife and one of the white coat lab workers going through lab order slips looking for husbands paperwork. Now this is a violation of patient privacy law. labcorp familiar with HIPPAA compliance?. The wife shouldn't have visual access to mine and everyone's orders period. Other observations Super small parking area, maybe seating for 24 and lots of people just standing against walls, lots of attitude and no urgency to get people processed. Major long wait times you are told maybe an hour or we don't know or can't give you an estimated wait. I observed even people with appointments times being overlooked and still having to wait. I can't say if there's advantages to getting an appointment or not?. I saw one in a lab coat playing on cell phone. Now there is a room full of waiting people and you have time for that phone?? This location falls way short in many areas. The lab tech that did my blood draw was wonderful and apologized for ordeal and wait. She was kind and helpful and the only bright spot in this place. I really don't have confidence otherwise in this location. My doctor suggested this location. I will be letting him know of my observations and telling him I will not return. read more

I'll admit I was a bit skeptical after reading all the negative reviews (2 stars is pretty low). I almost went to the Los Alamitos branch even though it was a bit further of a drive. I'm glad I didn't. The two ladies at the front desk were polite and professional. The tech that drew my blood was also very nice and professional. I didn't have an appointment. Walked in at about 8 am. I was called to one of the stations in the back in a matter of minutes. It did seem to be a bit busier by the time I left. Overall, I had a positive experience at this location and will be returning should I need any more blood work. read more

We're do I start I had to go to have blood drawn today 7-10-17. I walked in spoke to person which later found out her name was Rosa C. I explained that I was here for a blood drawn she very rudely were is your paper work do you have it or not. I explained that my doctor had sent it over I need your insurance card and I said here it is. Then I asked her to use the restroom because I take alot of medicines for removeing water from system and insulin for my blood sugar. I was in alot of pain and I tried to tell her this but she told me I can not let you use are restroom. After she told me this I explained that I needed to use restroom she still told me know. I had to set there in my own pre that I couldn't hold anymore. I needed to go back to work but my pants were wet. I had to drive home in wet pants to change. This is so wrong to treat a patient this way when restroom was only 6 ft away And it's not even her restriom to tell someone not to use it. Ive been here on several occasions. Recently they have changed their rules to no Saturday walk-in appointments. That would be fine if the person behind me in line hadn't stated that he also did not have an appointment, but he asked a friend that works here to squeeze him in. I detest messy business practices. I was sent home and told to come back. When I came back, I asked about the man who was allowed to stay. At first they acted like they didn't recall what I was talking about (it was only been 3.5 hours ago). Then she had a lightbulb moment and explained that he was told that he could wait to see if someone cancelled - why wasn't I offered that option? Messy business is messy business. Front office staff not very friendly. You have to use their computer check-in, I sat and watched as the elderly use the system with difficulty and no help from the front office staff. Without an appointment, you have to wait a very long time for service. They claim to offer wifi for their customers but it never works. I miss going to Quest. read more

Had an appointment for that afternoon and arrived a bit early since I had an appointment next door with my doctor. I signed in and sat down wasn't bad. The staff were prompt and professional. I got seen around my appointment time for my blood work very happy camper. The lady that took my blood was very nice and I felt a prick but after that she was really reassuring. Before I knew it I was done and out the door! They didn't make a fuss about me not having my insurance card they were able to confirm on my phone and it was written down as well on my papers. They have you sign a estimate bill which you may be responsible for if your insurance doesn't cover certain things. read more

Making a appointment on line is very easy and I am sure expedites the process once at the clinic. I checked in at the kiosk and sat down. Within minutes my name was called to verify insurance. I was early and the receptionist told me that it would be 18 minutes. It was less than that when my name was called. The technician that took my blood was pleasant and efficient. They won't notice you on the ground having collapsed from low blood sugar And starvation due to being NPO. employees need trainings on humanitarian behavior and respect. I've been coming to this lab for the last 2 years to get my daughters' bloodwork done. They've always done their best to make them comfortable. They speak to them gently, are patient and humor them. I'm really appreciative of that. Weekdays after noon have been good times with less wait. I've also been able to schedule Saturday appointments in advance. Only issue I have is parking. If it is particularly busy, parking will be difficult to get. The lot is also on the smaller side so pulling out can be difficult if the lot is full. read more

I have been to this place many times. I was here earlier this week for a blood draw for some testing. Despite the fact that I didn't have an appointment and the place was PACKED, I was in and out in under half an hour. The phlebotomist I had was very friendly, but I think I made a mistake when I told her I was a veteran at having my blood drawn, because when she pulled the needle out she did so very quickly and THAT was really painful, and I've got a big bruise now, and a lump where the needle pierced my vein. I will not go anywhere else for lab work if I can help it. read more
