REVIEW UPDATE: Upon taking possession of our brand new home and bringing in an electrician and HVAC…read moreservice person for random upgrades, they each brought to our attention major concerns (Concerns that this home inspector completely missed, or just failed to call out because he is out of his depth) about poorly installed electrical wiring (in the basement, around the circuit breaker and air handler) as well as the below-par installation of the AC condenser/air handler -- There is clear visible evidence of water having been, at one time, in the catch tray below a supposedly brand new air handler which is 100% NOT supposed to happen. NONE of these issues were brought to our attention by this home inspector. And had he been either more knowledgeable about standard building practices (as any home inspector should) or communicative about those short-comings, we would have either tried to negotiate the price of this home with the Seller, or just walked away. That is the home inspector's job, and he failed at his job. I followed up with the home inspector about all the issues we recently discovered in the house and he said, "I am not an expert electrician. I am not an expert HVAC service person." That is absolutely ridiculous. What purpose does a home inspector serve if they are completely uninformed about basic and standard and safe building practices?? The electrician and HVAC people saw these basic, glaring discrepancies from a mile away, and they said that anyone with general knowledge should have seen these issues and brought them to our attention. AVOID THIS HOME INSPECTOR AT ALL COST!!!

When reaching out to Mike to ask about the gutter being put back on, all of a sudden he became hard to reach and stopped answering texts. (It's worth nothing that at this point he had been paid by both me and homeowners insurance). Finally when we bothered him enough he responded with several long texts explaining that his company cannot put the gutter back on, the gutter isn't salvageable, they are not experts, the cost "should be minimal" for someone else to do it, etc. Ultimately I had to have a roofer come put it on who was shocked that Magic left my gutter in pieces on the ground, and said he actually had to repair damages that they made by tearing the gutter off the house improperly. It cost me $275, is that minimal? If you go with this company just make sure they don't leave any loose ends because once they are paid they are DONE with you.

Michael was on time for his estimate appointment, answered all my questions, gave thorough details of all work on the written estimate, and even put job start date on my contract! Michael stayed in touch with me throughout the entire job, even proactively following up with me with arrival times of each team. My husband and I have hired other companies for other home repairs; Michael and team were by far the most professional! Everyone was on time and thorough. They all went the distance on their part of the job and also answered my questions. The asbestos team ensured the area was sealed properly for asbestos removal (my husband and I saw their set up before we left the house). I also had a surprise and bonus, the head of the flooring team came by before the floor install to see the area so he knew how to prep the space, and he told me exactly what he would do, which was consistent with what Michael had stated on my estimate. The flooring team effectively set up tarps and plastic sheeting for dust/work debris containment (there was no dust in the rest of the house!), the install of the new floor looks great, and they ensured the flooring was to my satisfaction before cleaning up and leaving. Overall (I'm a teacher) I give this company an A+ and highly recommend them to anyone who needs a home restoration done right.

Aug 21 I had a house fire and the team showed up. I hired as it were my first experience dealing…read morewith such disaster. Too many teams had come up at my door and I was not in my best senses. In any case, first couple weeks of destruction process, everything was going smooth. My only issue with the workers was that one of them stole my mom's $3200. After confrontation, the owner found out and gave mom $3000 and we were assured that the culprit was let go. My trust was wavered by then but we continued with them because the owner returned mom's most money. However, the fire soot had damaged everything and I was assured that we will be able to total it all. Buy later we discovered that much was claimed as restored but here I thought that it was damaged for claim. Everything boxed up, but not protected well and seemingly left on damaged property to collect dust and debris and exposed to weather elements. During inventory process, we trying to look for a gold chain that should have been stored as well but was never found. It was a disappointment that alot claimed as cleaned and useful was also not protected well to keep so nothing was actually kept. I'm not sure who was at fault in all this but all parties involved say that it is up to the restoration team to have moved items that were worth keeping off site. Maybe it isn't this company at fault for miscommunication or mismanagement. But when we attempted to get info on some items, there was no feedback in the end. Towards the end, we couldn't continue with same to move items from property in order to prepare. I'll give you this, They were great with the demo part. Fast and furious. I am not confident about restoration, but that could be because my stuff was truly not restoration worthy. But because a big chunk of claim went to dry cleaning (stuff I never kept) and here, I lost a lot of potential claim amount.

As never having deal with an issue like this, Rob the owner was great. He walked me thru the process. Nick his main guy who was in the field did an awesome job of keeping me in the loop of what they were doing and why they were doing it. They went above and beyond to make sure the job was done right. They came back everyday to check the levels and make sure everything was going as planned. Rob was accessible all the time even on Sundays. If you are ever in a situation where you need remediation/ clean up I highly recommend tech clean. They showed up in under 2 hours from the initial call. Al is a phony and I don't believe he should be inspecting houses. He was recommended to us by our…read morereal estate agent. He showed up without a ladder to inspect a two story house. That was concerning to me but he claimed, "I like to take a lot of pictures." (Big deal so you can use a camera). He missed three critical findings that I later discovered myself and needed to call in a professional for advice/service which would have endangered the health and well being of my family. (1) Asbestos tile in two large rooms (after HE pulled the carpet back he claimed their was only concrete subfloor. (2) A cracked air conditioning duct in the attic that was venting into my infant daughters bedroom which later we discovered was filled with black mold. Our daughter developed a cough as soon as we turned the central air on and now just two days after having the system professionally cleaned she has stopped coughing. (The duct was so obviously broken, it is the first thing you would see but even though Al climbed up there he missed it. (3) Never checked the In Ground sprinkler system. Had he done that, we would have learned the system was not working and the previous owner cut the main electrical line and used an orange extension wire to hot wire the system. ( Electrician claimed it was a fire hazard).
