Legally speaking, I will own my body, well actually God owns my body, but I will have my body longer than any other possession I have. I take the best care of my health that I can. I am very tough on healthcare providers. Rightfully so. Because I am the first to complain it is vital to me to be the first to compliment. My last LabCorp visit went off without a hitch. I was very surprised. I was very impressed. And I hope that it happens again in the future. None of us like going to any kind of healthcare facility or using any kind of healthcare service. I go to get bloodwork regularly and tried this site due to its proximity to where I live. I signed up for a 1p appointment and didn't have my blood drawn for another 30 minutes. They offer appointment times, but really it is first come, first served. When they drew my blood I knew that what they drew was insufficient due to having it drawn many times before. They insisted that they got all they needed despite my protests. The results did not reflect the lab requests asked for my my PCP and thus she couldn't use them. It was a wasted lab visit and doctor's appointment. I have a busy schedule and don't have time for this. Lab Corp has many more offices close by. Do NOT go to this site. read more

I was nervous because of all the bad reviews, but my experience was great here! It was easy to check in, there was barely any wait time, the office was clean, and the people were kind. The process was fast, easy, and practically painless as far as my bloodwork went (and I am pretty sensitive). I would recommend this location to others. read more

As a nurse, I can tell you I am shocked at what transpired during this visit. I escalated my concerns to the manager. She heard me out, and assured me that she would address the concerns I raised, and voiced her dismay and disappointment at how her employees behaved. She also acknowledged that her employee's behavior was fraudulent, and apologized profusely. Sadly, I wouldn't return. I walk in. The phlebotomist didn't say hello, just waved me over, and looked annoyed She then said, "What a last name." ME: That's not the best comment to make about someone's name, you should be trying to provide culturally competent care. HER: Huffed, "Ok." ME: I'm telling you this as a nurse, you should want to provide culturally competent care to everyone. You should treat everyone's name the same, whether it's Jones or [insert my last name]. HER: Fishes in vein, poking the needle every which way, clearly not having any awareness of of where the vein was actually located. I tell her she's not in the vein, so she withdraws. HER. Contaminates the second needle, and was going to proceed with insertion until pointed out the contamination, and asked her to get a new needle. I also requested for someone else to do the second draw. ME: I asked for her name. She told me her name. I asked to see her badge to confirm it. Her badge had a different name on it than the one she initially provided. I brought this to her attention, and she denied having given me the first name. HER: She left our cubicle, and proceeded to complain out loud to her colleague about our interaction. They proceeded to discuss it, took zero ownership, and spoke poorly of me. This was within earshot of other patients as well. read more

I picked this LabCorp because it was close to my home and thought it would be a fairly quick interaction as I had made an appointment. However, upon walking in the room was filled with people people were standing up because there were not enough chairs. There were only six chairs in the waiting room and probably 15 people standing to wait. The number of people coming in continue to increase as time went on, but no one was going in the back to get their blood work done. Check in on the kiosk was fairly easy however that doesn't guarantee that you will be seen at your appointment time. About 30 minutes after my check-in. I was called up to the front desk to verify information again. The gentleman I spoke with was very hard to hear. Every time they would call out a name you could not hear because they were speaking at such a low tone that people in the waiting room we're talking among themselves trying to figure out who is being called. I understand that wait times vary and can be very long, especially for walk-ins but when a woman is waiting from 715 am and goes up to the desk at nine am to see what her wait time is going to be. It is a very bad look for the check-in woman to gasp and say "oh my gosh, I'm so sorry I forgot", thank goodness the guest checked to see when she would be able to get her blood work done. Otherwise she would've been sitting there all day. To overlook a patient like that is very concerning and makes me question what the check in or validation procedures actually are. You could also overhear multiple guests going up to the counter, asking for the front associates to speak up because you could not hear them, but the way they were talking to the patients was also concerning. They weren't answering questions. They weren't listening to what the questions were. About an hour after my scheduled appointment time I was finally seen - the phlebotomists were great. They were very quick, very polite however, the guests first experience upon walking in is not a good one. I do not recommend this labcorp location. read more

Not sure what happened today and it wasn't good. I was assigned to Zee a technician I've not seen there before. She drew a number of vials of blood and told me I was done. On my way out of the building I heard my name being called and Zee was rushing toward me. She said she had overlooked one of the tests and needed me to come back to the lab to have more blood drawn. She said she'd never had this happen and apologized. She uses my other arm for the second draw even though I told her I don't typically use that arm. She wrapped both arms far too tight after the blood draws. Later the same morning I received a call and voicemail message saying I needed to return to leave a urine sample, because it was part of my doctor's orders that were also overlooked. I can't go back today and my medical appt is early next week. This means my doctor will not have all of the information she needs when we meet. read more

Incompetant and reckless staff, disregard of safety protocols and HIPPA guidelines, outrageous wait times (longer than 45 minutes in the middle of the day), inadequate facilities for waiting, mishandling of speciments, ERRONEOUS lab results! I've been a physician for more than 30 years and have never seen anything like it. This is unacceptable at best, and potentially dangerous, especially for patients who have less capacity to question or ability to self-advocate. Labcorp has really set the bar LOW. read more

The Labcorp location at 50 W Edmonston Ave, Ste 404 in Rockville remains unlisted, perhaps because it is independent but located within a medical practice. Each time I've seen tech Esther K. at this Rockville location she is eating. The labs I've worked in never permitted ANY food to be consumed near samples or specimens, ew. While her venipuncture technique is good, the rest of her performance is unprofessional. She absolutely radiates hostility each time and barks out commands to sit, take this, etc. I don't understand why someone so hateful would choose to work with humans on an everyday basis. read more

I'm surprised by prior low reviews of this Labcorp. I've been here twice for routine blood work--previously with an appointment and this morning as a walk in. In both cases, the sign in process was easy, the staff were kind and competent, and i was back in my car within 15-20 minutes of arrival. The parking is simple too. I'm very tough to draw blood from and usually dread blood draws for this reason. However, I've been going to this Labcorp location for at least 2 years and they always get my blood on the first try! Usually the wait times are pretty fast, even when the waiting room is full. Staff are all very professional and nice. I've had horrible experiences at testing facilities from other companies, coming to this labcorp is such a breath of fresh air. read more

Showed up at 415 and they already had the lights off and were waving at me "closed" I showed them the time and told them that it's not 4:30 yet after minutes of arguing about the time she lets me , and then the lady who was drawing blood out the IV/needle in DIAGONALLY! I'm not a nurse or a doctor but I know that you put them in straight, then she made me hold the gauze while she wrote on the tubes , and then only put 2 small pieces of tape on the bandage that fell off before I could even leave the building! Because LabCorp. I had an 8am appointment, the first of the day. I arrive at 7:50. Two patients ahead of me. Two more behind. Office closed. Reason: worker one calls in sick, worker two lacks keys to office, worker three on way with keys. Worker three arrives. Patients directed to use the check-in device. Check-in device doesn't work because workers' two & three are starting up computer systems upon which this device depends. And there are issues with starting things up. I went to this location because LabCorp Rockledge (Bethesda) charges $8 for parking. Lady on line having check-in issues. This place charges zilch. But as Milton Friedman once said, there's no such thing as a free lunch. read more

They stick well but the customer service is kinda crazy because they don't have a dedicated front desk person. Pay attention during your visit. During my visit this time they almost took a later scheduled patient before the earlier scheduled one. Last visit, I saw tests flash up on screen that my doc had not ordered. I went to the Rockville Labcorp. The staff greeted me as soon as I walked in. I was pleased to see that it was not crowded. I was able to quickly sign in using the self-check in process. After quickly verifying my information, the staff sent me back to have my blood drawn. The phlebotomist was very professional and was able to complete the blood draw very quickly without searching for a vein. This was my first time going to this Labcorp, I will definitely use this one in the future. I had a much better experience than at many other locations. read more

Wow, a lot of really negative reviews. This LabCorp location is my go-to because it's close to home, and clean (two very important factors!) so here are my two cents: Granted, the place could definitely use a person whose sole role is at the front desk. However, the two ladies still run a tight ship by themselves and the check-in kiosk has been a huge help. Now I know that a long wait can be frustrating in this industry, you're stressed out and hesitant about the results and you want to get the exam (bloodwork in my case) ASAP. Two tips: (1) Remember that the ladies are poking a needle in your arm, so treat them nice. They're human beings and it's easy to let one's own stressful situation take control and overpower. (2) Get there as early in the morning as possible for a quick in-and-out session. Personally, I have never had a negative experience other than a long wait. If anything, I started coming here because of the location, but they're really good at what they do and give me and my veins a 10/10 treatment. read more

Saw front staff member run out the office and up to the parking lot without any hesitation simply because one of the clients left their insurance card. Updating my review -- sometimes my experiences are bad, but there's one phlebotamist I really like and I often get her, so I'm increasing my rating. I kept coming back and forth for two days to know if they received my orders although I explained I was traveling overseas and showed my doctor mail specifying he submitted the order. Meh... they are a LabCorp. Staff looks overworked and understaffed. Even when they aren't busy they just look sad overall. The person that took my drug screening for my new job was pleasant and actually very very nice too bad it's such a depressing place. I hate that all these companies including insurance companies contract the work for blood and screening out to just LabCorp or the other one. (Begins with a Q?). Anyways they haven't updated their pediatric testing opting to still use the hold down method on my poor toddler. I guess what's the point in investing in new testing that uses a small prick for children when you got all the insurance contracts already. I can't wait for a better company to come along. read more

Absolutely love this location! I completed a 3 hrs glucose test so I was here all morning so far. The techs are so nice and friendly, blood draw was painless and that is how you know your tech is skilled. I loved the convenience of scheduling my appointment online and checking in from the convenience of my car. It was great! Just seeing how busy it was and the 2 techs that were here handled it so well by catering to all patients,, ensuring social distancing and such great customer service. They deserve kudos! I took two of my kids here separately in the span of 2 weeks, and thought it went as well as could be (especially considering it isn't really a social outing ). In particular, my daughter was super scared and nervous, and the attendant was really patient and good with her. I would absolutely use again in the future if any of us need bloodwork. read more

Office was locked at 4:15 today even though they are supposed to be open until 4:30. This guy and I stood there with our specimens to drop off, wondering what the deal was. Staffer on duty appeared and yelled that they were closed. Another staffer let us in; first staffer chewed her out for this. While processing our specimens she complained repeatedly about being short staffed. That's too bad but it is not your customers' problem, and it is NOT okay to close early just because you are short staffed. read more

Went for a test today that I had scheduled online. After spending $18 to Uber there I found a note taped to the office door stating that they were no longer doing that test at that location. I went in and asked why I had not been notified via email or phone and was told, " we put a sign on our door". I let them know that wouldn't help people who have already arrived. I told them that since I had an appointment they should have contacted me and canceled it. I was then handed a piece of paper showing other LabCorp locations that did offer the testing and asked if I wanted her to call her manager. I don't blame the staff but I do blame management for making such a poor decision. read more

I was randomly selected for a drug screening by my employer and selected this LapCorp location as it is close to home. The whole experience from start to finish was horrible. I was treated like a criminal who would be caught using drugs! The front desk staff were incredibly rude, speaking to me and the others waiting in a very degrading manner. Stay away from these unprofessional, disrespectful front staff. They become the ones who do the work-ups -- so beware! I thought my first couple of experiences were just off-days, I guess. I overlooked being ignored at the front desk. I just chuckled to myself when the tech told me that the office closed at 4:00 so I should come back next week. I came back at 4:30 and they were open as advertised on-line, with no apology for being wrong or causing a "misstatement." I thought it would get better when the next time I walked in and a tech was in the back room screaming. I thought a patient had been hurt, just been revived, or was struggling. Instead she was complaining about some spilt water and yelling her reactions out to the front desk. The two women at the desk, ignoring the sitting patients waiting to be served, carried on personal conversations, one yawned languorously while talking, then laughed so hard while I was standing at the desk, that she put her head down on the desk to recover from the belly laughs resulting from whatever her colleague had said to her. When I eventually complained about her rude, "unprofessional behavior," they all three jumped in, defensively, loudly telling me that they hadn't done anything wrong, what was my problem, they have lots of work to do and why did I care if she was yelling -- water was on the floor in the back room! One claimed to be "the most kindest" of the three of the workers that day, all huddled together at the desk, and was personally hurt that I'd ask her to act any differently. I felt like I'd walked into a zoo, not a professional medical establishment. I was fasting since my doctor on the lab form had stated that the blood test required that the patient be fasting. Along with the blood test I was supposed to have a breath test as well. The nurse informed me that I needed to do the breath test first. I asked if this test would impact my blood work. I was told that it wouldn't at all. After blowing in the first bag I was given a cup with clear liquid to drink. I asked again if I should drink this before the blood draw and if it would affect the draw. I was told that there is no impact on the lab work if I drink the liquid so I can go ahead and drink it. I reminded the nurse that I have been fasting since the night prior and that I have not drank any liquids even though I had been thirsty since beginning the fast. The nurse then drew my blood prior to drinking the liquid. After drinking the liquid, which was very sweet, i was told that I needed to wait 15 minutes then have the second blow in another bag. 20 minutes passed and no one was calling me to blow for the second time. They were taking other patients continuously. After I mentioned that 15 minutes (in addition to the original 20) had already passed another nurse came and said thet she would do it for me. She got the bag and gave it to me in the hallway to blow while standing. The experience I had there makes me feel anxious and unsure of my blood test results. I will not consider going back to labcorp. read more
