The staff is not caring. I checked in for my appointment at 11 am today. I was not called even though my name was listed as checked in. I approached the desk and asked why I was not called even though. The representative said I should take a seat and she would be with me shortly. I sat down and waited over 15 minutes without being called. This business needs to pay attention to customers and follow up with customers. I cannot recommend this business and I have found Labcorp locations are similar in service. Unfortunately they are the only game in town. They can do as they will. The check in scanning set up was 5 star, the staff was the same although over worked. Results taken and sent, its been 4 days for a standard fasting blood panel, extremely odd! I'd give that 1 star, the customer service department is even worse. Horrible. It's like going to a used car auto lot. But this one tells you you're then next one up and end up waiting 3 hours. When I walked in I clearly ask what is the wait time because the computer says 3 hours. The tech who is doing double duty as lab tech and receptionist says noooo it will be quick. And 2 hours and 45 minutes later I am still waiting. If I knew this I would have never waited. And while waiting you can hear this lab tech having what appears to be a full on consultation with him . Wait this is labcorp right ?? Not a doctors appointment. Take my blood and let's keep it moving. If you want to wait for hours We'll this is the spot. I would say go somewhere else anywhere else unless you have nothing to do ! and want a consultation from a lab tech If he would leave out the 15 minute consultation... wow this would have been hours faster. I can't say enough good things about the Labcorp location on Medical Center Drive in Rockville. I was recently diagnosed with Graves' disease and Thyroid Eye Disease, which has meant a lot of routine (and at times nerve-wracking) bloodwork. But thanks to **Rob Generald** and the exceptional team here, every visit feels a little less stressful. Rob has a way of making you feel calm and reassured. He told me it would be over after a "little pinch" at the count of three--and honestly, it was. I barely felt a thing! On June 27th, he drew my blood, and the very next day, my endocrinologist called with urgent results that sent me to the ER. I was hospitalized for three days, and if it hadn't been for the efficiency and care shown by Rob and the staff, the outcome could've been much worse. *Places face in palms of hands and rubs temples with fingers* *Sighs* So I had to get some routine lab work done and found this Labcorp pretty darn close to my house. It's the one that's right next to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in a Medical Center type building. I go in and there was no one at the front desk, but I wave someone down because I needed to use the restroom. Yes... lol... I had been holding it because, well ya know. The woman was nice enough to let me back and I went to the restroom and provided #1 sample. Now... she was very clear that you can't provide #2 sample there. Which is fine... I just needed to provide #1 sample if you know what I mean. In any event, I go back to the waiting area and am called up to the woman telling me that she didn't have the lab order in the system. She looks at my phone at the email I have from my doctor with the lab order and says that I need it faxed over. Ok... Not sure if this is my doctor's fault, or Labcorps fault. In any event, I called my Dr. and they sent over a fax almost immediately. She calls me back and takes I wanna say 1 or 2 viles out of my arm and tells me as I'm leaving the room that the lab order didn't say I needed to provide a urine sample. But I KNEW that I needed to provide one. My doctor instructed me as much. She goes to the fax and sees that she pretty much missed a whole page of my lab order. She was SUPER apologetic. And I was SUPER understanding. Yeah... she had to stick me again and draw about 3-4 more viles of blood out. But if the story stopped there, I probably would have given this location 4 stars. I call up my Doctor today and told them that I had gotten an email saying that the lab results were back in. I wanted to set up an appointment with the Dr. to discuss. This is where the Doctor tells me that they didn't do 1 critical piece of the lab work. The receptionist at my office says... that's actually really the most important test that they didn't do. And this is why I'm giving 2 stars. I had to go to ANOTHER Labcorp to get stuck for a third time. This is where the rubbing of the temples comes in. So I just got back from another Labcorp location which I will discuss in another review. The funny thing is, and by funny I don't mean funny at all. I mean like funny ironic annoying. The funny thing was that while the tech at this location apologized over over again for having to stick me twice. I literally said to her.: Paraphrasing: "Listen it's completely fine. We're all human. People make mistakes. I would have been a lot more upset if I got home and I realized that you hadn't taken these additional viles. That would have been annoying." I will give her this. She is a very skilled phlebotomist as far as the procedure went. She was in and out of my arm like a pro. Like she was in an Olympic 400 meter relay. I mean... my arm might as well been 7-11. Both times... she found that vein and slid in that DM real quick. That said. She had 2 chances to get what she needed from me and she didn't get it. Le sigh. And I had to wait at another Labcorp location for 20 minutes today to get stuck for a third time. That's where the 2 stars comes in. read more

Had to go here for my 3 hour glucose test and was presently surprised. Quick check-in, friendly and professional staff-the staff made such a difference! The tech who drew my blood was awesome; he had to try a few places because I'm not the easiest stick but he was very good. Even with blood draws in both hands I had NO bruising and that has never been the case! Guy knows what he's doing and was very funny, too. Parking was easy too. Highly recommend. read more

Update: I have now left without getting my blood drawn and will never go back there. I waited over an hour alone with most of the waiting room. I go to the doctors way more than the average person and have never had such a bad experience before anywhere. The nurses here do a good jub and they are very nice with the patients up on arrival and during the process. The new online reservation and check in works very well. Quick check in and I had the test done on time. The results came fast online via their web site and also through the doctor. Easy to access with ample parking near the shady grove hospital. They are at the end of the corridor. read more

I would rather not ever come here. The folks behind the desk are RUDE as can be. It's always crowded AF in here. Coming here is always. Horrible horrible experience. They must pay people poorly because you get what you pay for and I have rarely if ever had a pleasant encounter with anyone working at this place. Lab draw processing was much improved from previous visits to this location. You can register on-line and schedule appointments efficiently. Arrived for appointment, scanned in, and was seen pretty quickly although the front desk took a long time to input all of the labs I needed, and there seemed to be some confusion about some of them. Anyway, blood draw was painless and efficient and everything went well on day of service - in and out pretty quickly. HOWEVER, my labs were drawn almost a month ago now and I still do not have results available through the patient portal! I went to the time and trouble of setting up an account so that I could have an electronic record, but I guess that's never going to materialize. It's really frustrating when a company sets an expectation that it clearly doesn't live up to. Had they not promoted, and pushed this service, I wouldn't have had any expectation, wouldn't have been ultimately disappointed, and they would have received 5 start instead of a somewhat grumpy 2 stars as I tried repeatedly to get the service they encouraged me to avail myself of! read more

Not at all confident with having these people handling my medical information. I called the 11119 Rockville Pike location, got their answering machine, saw in the website that walk-in's were welcome and the lab was "open" till 4:30, so I drove there arriving at 3:30 to find a hand written sign on the door saying the office was temporarily close. Oh well, I called the Medical Center Dr. location, didn't get an answer, the site also says "open", but I don't want to drive another hour to find the lab closed. Tried to fill out the survey on their website, but it has glitches regarding indicating if you were able to sign-in that make it impossible to even submit the completed survey. I was happy to be able to schedule my appointment online prior to going, and was surprised to see that the waiting room was totally empty (I did go mid-day on a Monday, perhaps that helped?). So, they took me right away. The woman working the reception desk was very friendly and got my information processed quickly. I think people can tend to be anxious in medical settings, particularly when getting blood drawn, and especially if they know their veins are hard to find! So the relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff were very much appreciated here. The office was also clean and COVID-compliant which also calmed me down. If you have trouble getting blood drawn especially, don't think twice and just come here! I was having major anxiety about going because of past difficulties with the process before. Enter Pamela to the rescue! I assume she is the go-to person with difficult draws, because they called her in and she relaxed me and was able to get my blood in no time at all! She was a magician, doing things with one hand that most of us would probably need three to do. I told her she was famous on yelp for her skills, but her bedside manner was wonderful too! I biked several miles here in 100 degree heat and would do it again! I sort of want to get my blood drawn all the time now! A lab technician whose name is Pamela has very good skill for drawing the blood. One of my family members has hard time to be drawn blood in other places. Since we went to 9711 medical center location and met Pamela, we stick on this lab because she is the only one who always needles in one time to successfully draw the blood out so far. We did not intend to visit this location. However, our visit to the LabCorp location for our appointment was a complete bust. The first tech refused to drawl blood from our 14 month old, and the senior tech was unable to get enough blood from my baby. Reluctant to try again, they sent us away, suggesting we go to the hospital. Once we found the place we were immediately set at ease. Pamela was an angel. She greeted us and our baby with such warmth that our baby was quickly put at ease, forgetting the trauma he experience just a few moments before. After only a few moments she called us back and expertly performed the blood drawl. She was fabulous. We could not thank her enough. If you have children with difficult veins (or you yourself have difficult veins) go here and ask for Pamela! read more

The phlebotomists are skilled and today I forgot my printed orders at home, but they were the same as last time, so they looked them up in the system and were able to take care of me anyway. I always make sure to pick this location for my blood tests. It is so easy! You just scan your ID and insurance card to check in and then you are called. They are always on time or at least within 5-10 minutes of your appointment time. One person in particular always goes out of his way to help and is always friendly. I wish I knew his name so I could recognize him. read more

I made an appointment and had all the necessary documents to get tested. When I got there they told me Medicare wouldn't pay for my tests and I could be charged nearly $1,000. for my tests. When I got home my physician's office called Medicare and was told All my tests Would be covered by Medicare. So I wasted a whole day and had no tests done because the people at this branch of Lab Corp are either too incompetent or too uncaring to give accurate information. Don't go to the Lab Corp on Medical Center Drive in Rockville. Go to Quest or a different Lab Corp branch. This is a terrible branch. read more

I understand no one wants to work a Saturday but darn, people who were working on a Saturday. Sorry I didn't know I needed to check in on the iPad behind me but a sign sure would have been helpful. When I re-approached the desk about my insurance card scanning the wrong name, I got an attitude. As I am standing at the desk while the lady takes my paper, a few minutes later she tells me you can have a seat. Well sorry I didn't know that I could sit. Maybe if she was pleasant, I would have known sooner. I think I will just stick with the Labcorp at my doctor's office or choose another facility. read more
